Hi CW, a Supreme with some extra Anchovies on top sounds great.

The weather here today hasn't been that bad. I think it has gotten the moisture out of its' system. It is 63° now with another nice day predicted tomorrow. A high of 72°, might be the first plus 70° day for 2011.

No new local RR news.

What a difference a couple of hours make in weather.....94 degrees about an hour or so ago and the weather system approached {and is still here over us}, and dropped the temp 11 degrees in about 5 min.

A mess of red on the radar is passing thru central Indiana, and we're on the lower part of it, but getting very hard rain.  Movement is east, southeast.  Lots of thunder / lightning now.

Actually we do need some rain.  That seems impossible, with all that we've had, but it was getting a bit dry on the surface.

Now if the hail will just stay away....I see the trees whipping around pretty severe now.  Yellow "boxes" of warnings are all over us, but don't see any "red" ones for right here...{tornado warnings}.

Edit:  Believe we lucked out on this one.  Had hard rain and some wind gusts...{don't know how much}, but seems we dodged a bullet.  It's now an hour and a half from when the above lines were written.

Now the red's on radar have passed or softened....

....We had a very nice Saturday morning here.  Just a Spring beauty.  Flowers in nice big clay pots blooming bright on our patio.....yard manicured nicely....Golfers going by....Everything green.  How nice.

But.....It started to get hot.  So, closed up the house {which I'd rather not do}, but it's getting warm and sticky.  So had to take action.

Believe there is possible rain tonight or tomorrow....Seems the pattern has changed though, so maybe we'll stay dry.

Tom....perhaps you can kick back now in your "la z boy", since it's daytime and get in a nice "nap".

Peace be with you. 67 and fog in Carolina. Highs expected in the mid 90s.

Haven't been able to sleep, so spent most of the night playing on the computer. There is nothing to speak of on the wireless, pus an important piece of equipment turned up its toes exactly when I needed it most. I is regusted with the whole thing.

Paula, thanks for breakfast.

Everyone take care and stay cool.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Partly cloudy, with 67 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Hazy, hot and humid with a high of 94 degrees for today.

Coffee, juices, iced tea (sweet and unsweetened), lemonade, Gatorade are on tap this morning, all freshly made, well, all freshly made but the Gatorade.  Although, did get a new delivery yesterday on the Gatorade.

On the serving station for Saturday Brunch:  cantaloupe, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, milk gravy & sausage gravy, bagels, bear claws, English muffins, watermelon, pancakes, fried taters.

Everyone enjoy your day, keep cool and take care.  Do not want to hear of anyone suffering from heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Everyone stay safe.

Spent the day working on my water system.  The pump was cycling every 15 minutes or so.

Ended up pulling the deep-well jet (and 60+ feet of plastic tubing) out of the well and found a BB sized hole in a short length of galvanized pipe just above the foot valve.  After one more trip to the home supply store it's all back together and working.

On top of that we (the FD) had three EMS calls and a false alarm today, too.

Got a little more to finish picking up from the well project, then I'm calling it a day.

Fish for supper sounds great.

It is 57° with scattered thundershowers here today. It may be scattered, but there was one thunderclap a couple of hours ago that shook every window in the building loose, I think. It scared the crap out of me, but there was hardly any rain to follow up, and no more thunder since. A textbook example of an isolated incident.

No new RR news around here today.

....Mid afternoon as we have warm temp and clear sky here.  87.8 degrees, five minutes ago when I peeked at the instrument.

Will wait 'till it cools a bit to finish sharpening mower blades and clean under the deck.  We do have it half finished, so won't take long to complete the job....then do a mowing...{1 hr.}.

Have been to lunch with friends, and made several stops before making it back home.

And........Had a call from Pennsylvania, from 7 high school class mates of 62 years ago.  They were gathered for lunch together and of course visiting.....7 class mates & spouse with most of them, came from several States.

We got messed up on our planned visit there for the long Memorial day time and decided we'd make the trip a bit later when the mood hits....but sorry we weren't there with them.

Finally, after sitting in the dr's. waiting room for 2 and 1/2 hours, got called back.  Left the doctor's office right at  3:00, and made it home about 3:15.  Now starting to fry the fish for our Friday Fish Fry.

We are having the regular fish menu, the regular sides and desserts, including peach cobbler and pecan pie, and, of course, chocolate cake.

Sarah's gone to work and Walt is out riding his bike.  So I'm here at home, glad to be in where it is comfortable, not freezing cold, like in the doctor's office!

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care, and see you all later this evening, hopefully.

Mudchicken, watch your mail for something from Louisville!!

....Looks like a decent, bright day underway.   It is to be warm this afternoon.  Not forecasting any rain for our area.

Time to clean out the mower deck, and lube fittings, and do another mowing sometime today.

Dinner  # 2 sounds really good with Iced tea . Then for dessert a slice of dutch apple pie. There is 3 or 4 fires burning Ariz. The one in FLG. is  the  closest to us(80 mi.) The wind comes from the north and we get a thin layer of smoke to the east of us  Fire season is going to be a long one this year.

                                                                                  Cannonball

More than a little weird to see the fires crack up again with flooding from the record 266% of normal mountain snowpack melting and causing flooding. (we have a sandbag shortage/ plenty of sand problem in Northern Colorado around LaPorte/Ft. Collins)

Smelling smoke here and around Raton Pass

Good Friday morning everyone, and yes, Mookie:  WELCOME BACK!!  Even if you never have more to say than "I'm here", at least we know you are still with us!!  (And that goes for everyone who comes in here!)

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Bagels, bear claws, a small selection of doughnuts & danish, along with regular breakfast menu is on the serving station.

Going to go pay Bills now, before I have to go to the doctor (reg. checkup).  Appointment if at 12 noon, so lunch will either be early, or after I get back from Dr. appointment.

Everyone have a good morning, keep cool, and take care.

Well, I had a decent day today, just enjoying the little bit cooler weather. Got the bike out and went to a couple of my railfan haunts, but really didn't see thing worth taking pictures. Got back to the house in time for the mail and found  Trains & R & R magazines awaiting a nice hot day to read inside in the air conditioning.

v~v       just hangin' around.  Playing a new action hero -  Superdull - for the past few months!

Joe's 3 H's here.  Low 90's on 2 of them.

No tornados here - but gusts to 50mph a few days ago.  Normal.

Guess the biggest thing Nebraska will have is too much water.  Between CO/WY,  the Platte, Mighty Mo and Elkhorn Rivers and the Army Corps of Engineers, we may lose some ground along the NE/IA boarder.  And insurance companies are telling people (so I hear) that flood insurance won't cover them because this is not an act of nature - ACE is letting water out of dams all over the state.    Sigh

But Driver & I are high and dry and the only thing wet at our house is some peanuts I accidently dropped in the birdy water this morning.

Saw a squirrel - he was so hot in his fur coat, he was lying in the shade next to a corn cob, slowly eating the corn off and trying to not do much more than breathe.

See why I have been quiet - I know nothing.  Going to keep it that way, too!

Moo.....

Heck - they replace pretty much every other joint....

Leave some chocolate cake out on the counter - I'm sure Madam LaMook will pop up.  Hopefully - I'd hate to think anything bad has happened.

Cool today - gonna have a problem hitting 60F I think.  Still breezy, too.  It's supposed to warm up again tomorrow, with rain in the forecast for Saturday.  On the railroad on Sunday.

Tom, trainmen replace them every day.Smile

We had a warm day--into the seventies--yesterday; today may reach sixty; tomorrow is supposed to be warm again. Nights are still cool, in the forties. The spirea are blooming; the maple needs trimming; the pussywillows need deadwood (firewood) cut out.

Since the humidity is down, decided to do some cooking this morning.  Here is what I have for our lunch and dinner/supper menu:

1.  Roast beef w/potatoes & carrots, green beans, cole slaw or garden salad, and corn on the cob w/baked cornbread

2.  Baked ham w/your choice of potato salad or baked taters, baked beans, corn on the cob, and garden salad

Hope that sounds good to everyone, and will "hit the spot" in your tummies.

Everyone have a good afternoon ,and you all take care.

Finally....The hot sticky stuff has moved on.  Windows are open and the fresh air feels so nice.

Low 80's today.  Lower humidity than we've been having.  Just really nice.  And, it's to be so....for a while.

Good morning. 86 and sunny in Carolina. We need the rain badly.

Saw the quack this morning about the problem with my right hand. He thinks I have one, maybe two degenerated knuckles, leaving the finger halfway out of joint. If so, it will take a replacement    knuckle(s) to do the fix. We should know after some xrays are done.  I never knew a knuckle could be replaced......

Take care, have a cool and safe day

Good Thursday morning everyone.  Glad to see so many in here last night!!  Welcome to blue streak, mudchicken, Brian, Joe, etc.  Now, where in the world is The Mookster?!?!?!

66 degrees here in Louisville this morning, supposed to make it up to 88, 89 degrees today, with less humidity.  Feels rather nice out on the front porch this morning:  just wish I had a laptop, and I'd be reporting from the front porch!!

Coffee, juices, iced tea, Gatorade, are all fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, cantaloupe, kiwi, papaya, watermelon, Honey Bunches of Oats w/peaches cereal, bagels and bear claws.

Today is the last day of school for our Jefferson County Public Schools.  My alma mater is one of several having graduations tonight, out at Kentucky Fair and Expo Center.  Gee, it has been 40 years since I graduated.  Time sure does fly, doesn't it?!?!?!

Everyone have a good day, stay as cool as possible, and, as always, remember to drink plenty of liquids.  Feel sorry for all our firefighters who are on Roadblock Detail around Kentuckiana, as they are busy at roadblocks and door to door collecting for the 58th annual WHAS Crusade for Children.

I've been watching NASCAR with much greater interest lately, as my wife's cousin's son Landon Cassill tries to break into the winner's circle.  Last weekend wasn't a lucky one for him, though, as he got spun out and ended up busting the car up on the infield grass.
