Little bit late getting back in here. Went to the bank and grocery this morning. The bank trip was to get bus tickets for us, and decided to pick up some items at the grocery while I was right there in the same shopping center.
For the rest of the day, here is the menu:
Meat loaf w/mashed taters, gravy, green beans w/shelled beans in them, and fresh garden salad.
Our current temp is in the mid 50s, but with the wind blowing, it seems much cooler than that. Waiting for the bus this morning, I was wishing I had put thermals on under my street clothes!
Hope everyone enjoys their afternoon, take care and see you all later.
....We have a cooler than normal morning. About .02" rain for the last 24.
Hope this soon changes and provides a new weather pattern. I too, would like to do another mowing today. Forecast was for a sunny day, and now it's certainly getting lighter, so possibly this afternoon we'll get it done. Temp. now 48 degrees.
River {White}, running thru Muncie is high...Probably out of it's banks in some low areas. Fast running current too. That's a lot of inertia when one considers all that continous water moving at that speed.
We're lucky here, down stream is where it will be doing damage.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dale!!!!!!!
Hope it's a Special Day for you.
Good Wednesday morning everyone. A very chilly 40 degrees here in Louisville this morning. At least there is no breeze to speak of this morning! Sorry about not making it back in yesterday. Didn't get home from Therapy until 4:30 or so, and was very tired and sore from the therapy session yesterday.
Want to wish Dale (nanaimo76) a Very Happy Birthday today! Hope it is a great day for you, Dale, and wishing you many happy returns!!
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the warmer/serving station this morning: blueberry muffins, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, along with bagels and bear claws.
Does anyone remember what anniversary we will be celebrating here in the Cafe/Diner tomorrow? How many of us remember when Jim H. (jhhtrainsplanes) first opened the doors?
Everyone have a good morning, and see you all later.
Wet, wet, wet. Flood watch in effect, which is bad news for those who already have more water than they can use. At least the rivers are down below flood stage here right now.
Three quarters of an inch of it so far today.
At least it let up for a bit when I went to get the mail this morning.
It's time to get the lawn mowed, too, before I have to call in somebody with a baler. Gotta quit raining first, though, which isn't looking real good until the end of the week...

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Good morning everyone.
Well, as you may have heard, we had a General Election here in Canada yesterday. Talk about mixed emotions. The party I volunteered for from 1985 to 2005 won its' highest number of seats ever, but it is still in second place. I can't yet quite wrap my head around what the next few years are going to look like in Canadian politics.
Yesterday was also a good day around here weather wise. We had our first 60+° day since last fall. It was a very nice walk over to the polling station. It felt like spring was in the air. Right now it is 46°, with showers and a high of 50° forecast. Tomorrow we are looking at sunny skies and a high near 60° again.
Now I am going back to look at various news sites and see more reaction to yesterdays events.
And yes, I also want to commend those involved in the capture of Osama bin Laden. That man created way more than his share of negative impacts on every democratic society in the world.

....As we continue, our morning has been overcast and a light rain earlier. 1.5" rain in the last 24....All this water will really be causing trouble further down stream...Ohio, Mississippi rivers, and so on....
Almost seasonal temps this morning, but still under normal a bit....Believe the current weather system is moving on east, and mostly south of us, so we might even see the sun this afternoon. Tomorrow, {at this time}, they are indicating sunshine.
Gee Paula, I'd rather go shopping than hang with Mr. William anyday! We've got 39 and very little wind so it seems pretty nice outside actually. Anything hot for now and off to the hammock to lurk.
Dan
Good Tuesday morning everyone. Heavy rain and a temp of 48 degrees here in Louisville this morning. Our high today is only to be 54 degrees. It is supposed to rain until sometime this afternoon. Guess when I go to Therapy this afternoon, I need to make sure I have my sunglasses with me.
Coffee, juices, milk, chocolate milk, and strawberry milk, hot water for hot tea, apple cider are fresh and ready to go. Regular breakfast menu is also ready and on the warmer/serving station.
Believe it or not, I'm not going to be taking care of Tuesday Produce this morning. Going to stay home and take care of Bills this morning, then get ready for my ride to Therapy.
Hope you all have a good morning; hopefully most of you will be dry today, weather wise, take care and I'll see you all later this afternoon.
good afternoon
cool outside and more rain on the way according to the guessers.Matt just got home from school.Cw thanks for supper.Jim I can ask our friends in Dayton more about the rail scene there.Off to do some chores then off to work.
joe
Joe; yes that is Dayton ,Ohio . The yard was a through track for " the big 4 " mostly NYC . The times have changed so much in railroading it is hard to keep up with the trends. Thanks for your post.
Respectfully, Jim

Finally able to get on the computer this morning: had a glitch with our computer this morning, and just now able to get on.
I'm glad they finally got Bin Laden; but I'm wondering about possible consequences now, from the rest of the Al Queida group seeking revenge for his death.
Well, we have cloudy skies, have had off and on rain most of the morning. Thankfully, to the best of my knowledge, we've had no thunder and lightning! Have had enough of that, thank you very much. Our high today is to be only in the low 60s. Not sure what our current temp is: haven't looked at the thermometer.
Here is the menu for the rest of the day:
1. Sunday Dinner leftovers
2. Sloppy Joes w/fries and salad
3. "Breakfast for lunch and dinner/supper: bacon, eggs, toast, or biscuits & milk gravy
Hope everyone is having a good day. Take care of yourselves and see you all later.
....We need some positive news in this country....Getting Ben Laden sure qualifies for that..! Thanks to everyone involved...from the special forces up to the President....Well done.
I've been on the 'puter for awhile and thought I'd take a break, go around to the living room and catch the 11:00 news....first thing I saw was a Special News Report that Osama Bin Laden is now dead....Reckon some of our troops will start coming home now?
spokyone I don't think the people in Williston ND have their tomato plants in the ground yet. It might be a while now before they do.

.....Just saw snow covering the ground up in ND on TV this afternoon.....
Well, I finally made it back in here. It has been a lazy day around home. We haven't had any rain since this morning, and the sun was out for a little bit (about the time I was standing at the bus stop, waiting for it so I could go to the grocery.) And my sunglasses were at home! Sure did make my eyes water.
Tom and Cannonball, good to see you both in here today! Hope we'll see a little bit more of you both.
Here is our Sunday Dinner menu:
1. Italian spaghetti w/Italian bread or you can have bread sticks and garden salad.
2. Country fried chicken w/mashed taters, gravy, homemade biscuits, choice of green beans, broccoli w/cheese sauce.

Jim as in dayton ohio??? I know that ns' yard in Moraine isn't what it used to be due to the gm shutdown. will have to ask around.Time to get things around for work.Cw thanks for supper.
Greetings of the day to you. Are there any trains still running through Dayton ?? The Findlay st. yard was a hub of activaty years ago. Has that been shut down ? My last contacts have all gone to the depot in the sky .
Home today, as our volunteer luncheon was cancelled - the restaurant where we were going to have it was flooded, as were many parts of the Adirondacks. A number of roads, including main roads, are/were closed. At least one dam was being regarded with much caution, lest it fail.
The charter trip yesterday went well, although we managed to lose time at stops, so the group (which came by bus from Albany to Utica for the trip) may have had their dinner (which would follow the return to Albany by bus) a bit late. Getting people on and off the train seems to be the issue - they never move as quickly as anyone thinks they will...
Plenty to do for the next few days - may have some unexpected company and I don't usually keep the house 'decorated' for company....
Better get to work!
Good morning, it's Sunday.61 degrees and fair in Carolina at present. The boffins say we should end up around 80 and partly sunny skies. Not a whole lot else to offer, so see ya later
good morning
the rain has moved off for now but more to come tonight thru tuesday according to the guessers.Farmers here are getting anxious to get the crops in.Time to get ready for church and Sunday school. Thanks for the pizza and the breakfast this morning CW.I hope the "flying pigs" aren't too wet running thru downtown cincinnati.Back to work tonight for us.
Good Sunday morning everyone. 64 degrees and rain/thundershowers here in Louisville this morning. Has stopped for now; but it will be on again and off again throughout the day. Bob, heard on our local news this morning, that in Western Kentucky, the farmers have not had any chance at all to plant their corn crops. It will probably be at least another 2 weeks before they can. About the only thing you might be able to do is plow, but a lot of places, if you plow, all you're gonna get is mud, mud and more mud (if you don't get the tractor stuck, that is).
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. A small assortment of doughnuts, muffins and coffee cake are on the warmer/serving station, along with some bacon, eggs, and toast.
Everyone have as good a morning as possible, keep dry if you're getting rain, and you all take care.
A company called H&B Railroad sponsored the 32 car driven by Ken Schrader in the NASCAR race tonight. I can't remember any RR related company involved in stock car racing.
Hi CW, I always enjoy pizza night. I think I will have a Italian Sausage pizza with some peach cobbler. It seems I've spent a lot of time on the computer today, so I won't add much.
I don't know if it made the US news or not, but there was yet again another big blizzard in southeastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba. Closing all the roads around the rail line from Moose Jaw, SK down to Portal, ND, the start of the Soo Line to the Twin Cities. That line has always been called the Soo Line up here, even though it isn't the real Soo Line.
Yikes!!, I must be getting tired. that is all for now.
Just came in from sitting out on the front porch. Nice breeze (not too windy), and plenty of nice sunshine!
Here is our Saturday Night Pizza menu for tonight:

I'm the only one home right now. Sarah hasn't gotten home from work, and Walt is out riding his bike. Had a couple of errands to run, and he wanted to go over toward Clagg Tower, and see how everything is looking, since that is right by the river.
Hope everyone has enjoyed their day, have a good evening and take care.
