No more snow here for us.....Just that 1" of new snow last night.

Today seemed rather normal with our attendance to church.  And we had a good crowd.

Later, a good meal over at Red Lobster.

Now.....It's just after half time of our Pacer ball game in Indy.  So must get back to family room to continue watching.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Hope all are doing all right this morning.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, etc. are fresh and ready to go.  Mookie, here's your coffee mug, waiting for you.

On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs (or fried eggs, whichever you'd prefer this morning), homemade biscuits w/sausage gravy, honey, jams, jellies, preserves, marmalades.

You all have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Sunny this morning, but warm isn't part of the equation. It's almost 10 AM and it's only 13F outside.  But the sun is definitely out.

An old friend posted this on Facebook with the note that virtually every garage band of the era played the song.  Those who grew up in the 60's need to clear your calendars, as you'll spend a fair amount of time - as I did - checking out the other suggested links, too.  Lots of good music there.

Larry, thanks for the walk down Memory Lane!  Some great performances there!!

All our Christmas Dinner leftovers are gone, so here's what I've come up with for this afternoon and tonight:

1.  Sloppy Joes w/fries and tossed salad or Caesar salad

2.  Hamburgers and cheeseburgers w/fries, tossed or Caesar salad

3.  Chili (mild) w/crackers, and above salads

We currently have, at 1:22 p.m., cloudy skies with a temp of 27 degrees.  Think we're supposed to get up to 31 degrees today.

Everyone have  a good afternoon, take care, and see you all later.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Well, we have 20 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the mid 30s.  Saturday, temps in the 50s, and back into the low 40s Sunday.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider, etc., fresh and ready to go this morning.  On the serving station:  bagels, bear claws and the rest of the normal weekday breakfast menu.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and I'll see you all sometime this afternoon. Although, since no one is coming in, guess you don't care if we're open or not.

Joe, as far as I've gotten so far, For New Year's Eve, is thinking we'll make that our Friday Night Mexican Fiesta.  And that's IF we have anyone in here.  We seem to be very lax in attendance around here lately.  Some people are excluded:  you, working; Johnny, going back & forth to visit Ricki in hospital or rehab center.

You say you hear Mookie giggling?!?!  Haven't even seen her in here for several days.

For the rest of the afternoon, evening, I fixed meat loaf for sandwiches and some mashed taters w/gravy.

Think I'm going to go take a short walk.  You all take care ,and see you later.

MookieGato is off in the closet looking for her insulated bloomers. Weatherliars here are predicting that winter will finally arrive in Denver. The mountains have been getting clobbered with feet of snow every day and we've been down here in the dry low fifties. We have had no snow - usually have 1-2 feet by now.

One more day of fifty degree weather and then some of Willy's budz go open the freezer on Thursday afternoon, going from 50 above to subzero in less than 12 hours...plus our first snow of any concern makes its appearance (WeatherLiars are talking between a trace and 10 feet)

Regardless, all us survey field types will be scrambling to get what work we have outside DONE before winter FINALLY arrives.

Geez... I thought we had this straightened out....I can't wear insulated bloomers.   They don't make them!.  So I wear 2 pair at a time!  And a light pink snowsuit  Shy  And that's indoors!

Been celebrating a late Xmas gathering all day today.  Weather was very nice, better tomorrow and maybe fabulous on Thursday before it goes right down the rabbit hole.  So spending W and R outside!

Have heard from both Willy2 and Houston Ed.  Neither has assumed room temperature, but both are busy.  Trust me, they really are!

CW - you know Ed's favorite dinner is a huge steak and trimmings. Breakfast is still coffee and lunch, maybe some Texas Chili?  (this ought to bring him out of the woodwork)

Damage done here.  Off to terrorize the neighborhood!

MOOKIE!!  I'm very glad to see you were in, you're still alive and with us!

Thanks for the suggestions for Friday's menu, too

We have temps in the mid 20s this morning, going for a high in the mid to upper 30s for today.  Rain coming in sometime tonight, and will rain off and on, probably thru the weekend.  Oh well, that forecast sounds better than sub zero temps or wind chills, ice, sleet, or snow.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Regular breakfast menu is ready, also.

Received a Walmart gift card for Christmas, and think I'm going to take it and do a little bit of shopping around mid morning.  We need a new cordless phone (dang think has so much static in it, you can hardly hear what anyone is saying), some yarn, and a few other items.

I have put some vegetable beef soup on in Crock Pots for lunch/supper.

You all have a very good morning, take care and see you all sometime later.

Continuing thru the holiday week:  We have blue skies with sunshine, and low 20's temps.

To be a bit warmer than yesterday.

2010 is certainly winding down....Perhaps we'll see improvement for our economic status this coming year...let's hope so.

Just got home about a half hour ago.  Bus was delayed getting to my 'home' stop, due to an auto accident.  While I was standing at the bus stop outside of Walmart, it started drizzling rain.  When I got off bus #1, to wait for the 'home' bus, rain picked up somewhat, and I started shivering, complete with rattling teeth.  By the time I got into the house, my feet were so cold, I could hardly walk.

Think I will get myself a cup of the vegetable beef soup, and maybe fix a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it.  Ending up a very good afternoon to have veg. beef soup, and maybe some baked cornbread with it.

You all have a good afternoon, and see you all later.

I still come in, CW, I just don't have much to talk about.....

Still working on model train cars, and realizing that with all the cars I have bought lately (some of it at retirement sale prices from Walthers), I may have to go out and purchase another storage system from A-Line.  The three that I have are filling rapidly, due in part to all the intermodal equipment I bought.  On the bright side, I should have enough equipment now to make some replicas of the trains I watched as a teenager......

Other than that, battling a cold, which I will hopefully be able to get over by Friday, having dinner with friends at a local place known for it's fish.  Supposed to warm up here, could see 50 on Friday, then the bottom falls out for the new year.

Well, back to more fun and games......

Weather box says we got up to 36 today.  I hear it's supposed to keep warming up, then the door gets slammed this weekend.

I may take a ride down to a friend's place for a New Years Day get together.  If the weather is good, I'll probably go.  Otherwise the two hour drive could be problematic.

Went through the model RR kits I have on hand.  Actually, what I could find.  I think I have more, but I've never really tried to keep them all in one place.

Now I've got a database of projects I can check off.

Chicken Cordon Bleu must be about done.  Time for supper.

Paula is not the only one with transportation problems. WHen I got up this morning, it was still snowing (very lightly, but cold and wet). It stopped before I went in to see Ricki, and I had a quick trip (just under thirty minutes for just over 15 miles). Coming home was an entirely different matter; it usually takes about a half hour. It started snowing again in the middle of the afternoon and by the time I left (5:30) quite a bit had fallen. I think that I came up, not only only the 5:30 home-goers (usually not many), but the 5:00, 4:30, and at least the 4:00 as well. It took me two hours (I avoided the freeways, and apparently half of the people working in Salt Lake CIty did the same). I did get home safely.

We had some good news today; Ricki may come home next Tuesday morning. Some therapy people apparently are coming out to the house Monday to see what we have to help her get around (we wonder what changes they will recommend). She would like to come home sooner, but it is felt that she is not ready yet.

Between now and then, we expect single digit temperatures Thursday, Frida, and Saturday mornings--with more snow Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Stay warm.

Rather warm this morning...{that's relative}, of course, but it sure did melt snow overnight.

Must head out for a haircut soon this morning, and then some more stops to do today.  The "old year" is winding down, lets hope for a better one for all on here this coming New Year.

A couple of days ago, I could see almost all of our yard. This morning, I took about a foot of snow out of the driveway and off the sidewalk--we were promised about 3-4 inches in the valley. It was powder, so I did not worry about the snow thrower getting clogged up with wet stuff. I had to come in about half-way to warm my fingers.

It is wonderful to consider that I should have only a few more days to go over to the hospital.

Keep warm and dry; Paula, I trust you are warm and dry now, after your adventure yesterday, and you do not have sniffles (or worse) from it.

Bob, the pork roast is just about ready (give it about another 1/2 hour, and it'll be on the serving station, along with the mashed taters and gravy.  Just finished icing a white birthday cake w/white icing, w/blue, and red icing decorations on it.

Mookie, your temps this morning sound very good to me.  Our indoor/outdoor thermometer is showing 50 degrees.  But I haven't stuck my head out the door, since I got the paper this morning.  It does look like the rain is out of our area (at least for the time being).

Just returned from the barber shop.  A good time to hit it, as it was just the barber and I.  He asked me if I felt the earth quake....??  I had not.

He related at a few min. to 8 this morning, we experienced a 3.8 reading on the Richter scale.  He indicated he was sitting in the barber chair and he felt the sensation of moving back and forth, and noted the big window just in front of the shop, was moving back and forth.

Word is, the center was near Kokomo....roughly 60 mi. from here.
