Good morning from Carolina. 61 and clear about 15 minutes before sunrise. I have been up a while.  Some big happenings in the Carribean with the split up of the Netherlands Antilles and other Dutch posessions and that has made the wireless very interesting the past few days. Naturally, a remote antenna switch went belly up last night and I had to stay up and get that taken care of. Still up, in time for breakfast. And thanks Paula for fixng it for us.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  Larry, thanks for the cantaloupe!  I'm sorry about the low turnout at your BBQ.  Unfortunately, we missed our local Great Louisville fire drill Sunday:  they didn't promote it, and all three of us would have liked to go to it this year.  After all, we had very good weather Sunday, wasn't too hot out, and the weather was very good for picture taking.  We didn't even see anything written up in the paper about it, like they usually do.  Oh well, maybe we'll have better luck next year.

Along with some of Larry's cantaloupe, we have some watermelon (seedless variety), bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning.

The coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.

It is very warm here this morning, with a temp of 69 degrees at 5:59 a.m.  Some areas, especially to the west of us, are seeing a little bit of rain drops.  But we get a better chance of rain tomorrow, and will have more fall-like temps tomorrow, with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Will be getting ready for Tuesday Produce in a little bit.  Then, wait for about an hour, hour and a half, for the Bread Truck to show up.  Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a good morning, and I'll see you all later.

Busy, busy, busy.

Chicken BBQ didn't do as well as we would have liked.  People were somewhere, but not at the BBQ.

Nice day, though - which may have been where the people were.  Nice today, too - beautiful fall weather!

Of course, the next time I have a major outdoor activity, it's supposed to rain - which will get all those school kids coming out to see the fire equipment on Friday wet.  Not good.  Hopefully if it is raining, it'll just be scattered showers and we'll stay dry.

Making plans to visit with some relatives before Mom heads back to AZ on Thursday.  Lotsa visiting.

Dinner was great - got to go cut up some cantelope for dessert.

Well, the only other thing I have to say about the Philly/Cincy game is:  hopefully, the Reds will do better next year!

The menu for tonight will be leftovers from yesterday:  roast, taters, carrots, and there's also some roast for open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters and beef gravy.

Joe - looks like a lot of college football teams have the same problem.  Lots of surprising scores lately.  Keeps things interesting.

Another nice day here in paradise.  A nice fall this year.  Had snow last year at this time.  It can wait!

Yes, not only have some scores been surprising, but occasionally winning with a high score does not help in moving up in the rankings--Utah pasted Iowa State, and dropped in the ranking (not that I am particularly a supporter of Utah, except when it comes to playing "that other school" which is a little bit south from here; I am, in general, a Southeastern Conference, Western Division, supporter--a nephew went to Auburn, and a niece went to LSU).

morning

weather guessers say warm today with maybe some thunderstorms this afternoon. Not a good day in the  river city last yesterday. If you are going to only bat .200 in a series you can't give up any runs or extra outs.At least they have a good young core on the team and this bad taste will make them hungrier for next year.Cw thanks for breakfast.Time to get matt on the bus.It will be back to work time tonight.

Good Monday morning everyone.  Currently 60 degrees and fair skies here in Louisville, KY this morning.  Going for a high again of around 90.  I think yesterday, we topped out at 91 degrees.  Hopefully, we will get some much needed rain in here Wednesday.

I'm also sending out Birthday Greetings Happy B-Day Happy B-Day to Aimee Blysard today!  Aimee, hopefully Ed may drop in, and see this message, and let you know we're thinking of you on your special day!!  Hope you have a Very Happy Birthday, and may your birthday wishes come true!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go.  Mookie's coffee mug is clean and on the counter for her; but I'm not filling it until I see her come in the door.

Well, I don't know what to say about the Cincinnati Reds.  I guess they've played so hard all season, that they have worn themselves out?  They sure haven't looked, in the playoffs, like they did during the regular season.

Everyone have a very good morning, keep cool, if you're in this unseasonably warm "autumn" weather, and take care.

Well, just finished doing my exercises.  Back isn't hurting quite as much today, as it did when I finished doing them yesterday!  Walt is watching the Bengals game ( I think), and Sarah's watching a movie or something in her room.

For our Sunday Dinner this afternoon and evening, you will find on the serving station:  Roast, taters and carrots, your choice of green beans, peas & corn, broccoli w/butter sauce, chocolate birthday cake w/whatever flavor ice cream you want with your cake.

According to our home page, our current temp is 88 degrees.  It is very warm/hot outside.  House feels pleasant this afternoon.  Everyone enjoy your meal, afternoon, and take care.

Oh What a beautiful Sunday....Clear skies....of course, lots of sunshine and projected to reach at least 84 this afternoon.  Dry still.

Getting ready to start towards Texas Road House, but waiting until 2 pm as this is our University's Home Coming Week.  So we can expect lots of people at our eating places.

How's everyone doing tonight?  All right, I hope!  Did a phone call to Denver earlier, but had to just leave a Happy Birthday message on the ans. machine/voice mail.  There was no local 6:00 or 6:30 news this evening, so don't know if we made the projected high of 90 today or not.  But I can surely say that it was WARM here.  I even put the ac upstairs on AC, from the auto fan it has been on for two, two and a half weeks.

Our Saturday Night Pizza Fest is now on the serving station and under way:

1.  Anchovie

2.  Canadian bacon

3.  Cheese

4.  Chicago style

5.  Goetta

6.  Hawaiian

7.  Italian sausage

8.  Pepperoni/mushroom

9.  Supreme

And yes, there is plenty of chocolate cake w/half white, half chocolate icing.  There's also plenty of ice cream to go with the cake (it does have one birthday candle on it, so whoever gets the first slice, can blow out the candle for Boss Hen).

Everyone enjoy, have a great evening, and take care.  See you all tomorrow!

"Usually see the daylight peeking out around this time.  (We are still on EDT, aren't we?)"

Yes, Paula, four weeks from tomorrow, you may go back to EST, having observed Atlantic Standard Time for more than half the year (and, looking at how far west you are, you should observe Central Standard Time (New Orleans local mean sun time) year round. And, we out here at the Crossroads of the West will go back to observing Denver local mean sun time after having observed New Orleans local mean sun time for too long.

We had our first fire in the living room fireplace this morning; it was nice.

.....And our "Summer" weather continues.  Just beautiful out again today.  For me, shorts and short sleeve shirt.

Yes, I know it's past labor Day, but I fly under the radar of the "fashion police".

To be 80 today.

Time to go make salads for tomorrow's chicken barbeque.

Then "touch up" the house - Mom's back from Florida tonight for a few days before heading home to Arizona.

Gonna make for a short night's sleep, as she arrives at the airport at just about midnight and it's a little better than an hour's drive home...

'Cause I gotta be up for the barbeque on Sunday.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  And, Happy B-Day to Boss Hen!!

Just woke up a few ago, and must have slept crooked, because my back and shoulders are aching this morning.

Coffee is on, and working on preparing the juices and other morning beverages.  In a few minutes, you will find the following showing up on the serving station:  turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy; there's also some bagels, bear claws, grits, toast, oatmeal, blueberry muffins, and cinnamon rolls.

Haven't heard the temp this morning, but it is a little bit cool here in the house.  Still 0 dark thirty out.  Usually see the daylight peeking out around this time.  (We are still on EDT, aren't we?)

Hope everyone enjoys whatever plans they have for today, and take care.  I'll see you all this evening for our pizza fest.
