Busy week, made so by a damaged trailer, that took all day to fix. Figured out last Friday that said trailer must have fallen off a tractor, buckled the sidewalls and floor. Note was made to main shop, should get fixed soon....
Been chilly lately, have had to close all windows and vents at night to stay warm, and fire up the heater in the morning to cut the chill. Heater still lights on the first try, even after the fridge draws the batteries down overnight, so hopefully have a good set of batteries for this winter.....
Headed to Wisconsin for Wednesday, they are out of paper again (go figure, all the paper mills they have, and they don't make this paper in this size roll. Oh well...), should be a good ride on the cash roads......
See everyone later.....
Evening all. Well . . .
1. Been busy cleaning upstairs most of the day. While I was upstairs cleaning, Walt did the vacuuming downstairs.
2. Mookie, sorry to hear about you being on crutches. If you haven't already, be sure you take one of those pills before going to bed tonight: you'll sleep like a newborn baby! Hope your leg feels better soon!
3. Joe, sorry to hear about your friend's Dad. Will remember them in my prayers tonight.
4. You're welcome Joe, even though I haven't been in before now to fix anything. So, supper will be on the quick and easy side tonight:
a. Burgers w/fries and salad
b. Grilled cheese or tuna salad sandwiches w/fries and salad
Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you in the morning.

.....Jen, sorry to hear you managed to put too much stress thru your leg parts....Hope the meds makes it calm down plenty that you can get rest.
I wonder, if just having the pill laying near by at the computer desk, and it started to work.....perhaps you would really get good results just to tape it to the outside of the leg....and then, maybe not.
Item:
A very slight light rain is passing thru....we can use it all.....
Next....Headed to our small town Council meeting in about an hour....It can get pretty good most times. And now, close to election time....and several items on the agenda of a certain mix....Might get interesting.

Mookie, I sympathise with you. Hydrocodone is good stuff, but it makes me itch. Anything in the percoset family does, but the hurt gets gone when it shows up. It also is the best sleeping pill you can find. I had a bout with the crutches about 40 years ago when I was an active plumber. Fell off a low platform and twisted my right ankle something proper. Next day, it was the size of a football and for two weeks, I was on the DL list. Crutches sure came in handy. I hope your problem rectifies itself quickly
Heat is on and the house feels good. It was pure T cold in here this morning!

Well, had to almost chew off one of my legs last nite! I twisted my right knee trying to climb into our silly bathtub and popped a liggie or a tendon. I did this about 12 years ago; turned quickly to start up some stairs and heard the now familiar "pop". Thought at that time I would have to call the firehouse to get me up the stairs! Boy, does that smart!
Managed with a cane during nite and wouldn't you know it - I had a cramp in the calf of that leg, too!
Today Driver went and got some crutches and doctor gave me a prescription of hydrocodone. That stuff is really, really good. I took one pill out of the bottle, laid it here on puter desk and knee feels much better. If I actually take it, I should be able to run up and down our stairs!
I think using the crutches helped a lot, too. I can get around now w/o putting much pressure on that leg. Can't take the pill for another hour or so or it will collide with the ibuprophen I took earlier.
Q - with heat here, it is feast or famine. If I turn it on just a tiny bit, and the outside temp goes to 78, we will suffocate, since our house holds the heat or the cold. Once it warms up to take off the chill, it never lets go. Same with summer - just a little cool inside becomes ice cube city.
And it is always humid in here. (except Jan/Feb)
Gonna touch my pill again. Leg hasn't felt this good for last 24 hours!

Good afternoon all!
Looks like it might rain outside here in a bit due to the gloomy rain-clouds overhead. The last two days we have went train watching for a little over an hour and saw NOTHING! I’m not sure if the trains are being re-routed, or what, but they sure haven’t been rolling through like they normally do.
Have a good afternoon all.
Justin

....We've had a bright, overcast and dry morning. Mild. 56.7 right now.
Not much on the calendar for today, but trying to get an appointment to have our car serviced down in Indy....closest lexus dealer. Hope we can do so sometime this week as the weather people seem to be saying it's to be dry the rest of the week.
I note on my unofficial records here in our home office, our first snow last season occured Dec. 7th. Hope we can hold off as long this season.
One more thing: Jen....You sound exactly like my sis-in-law over in Pennsylvania....Not turning on any heat until, etc......But she recently changed her mind and did so. Here, I've just adjusted a couple of thermostats in our home, and it has been just enough to make a comfortable difference....I'm sure they have had to click on several times, but really it doesn't take much to take the chill off at these temps. Believe the lowest I've seen here this season has been about 41.
I am awake now, or at least I think so. Had a bad weekend with the wireless. A remote antenna switch died and stayed dead. I just ordered a replacement, and man alive, the prices have gone up on those things. They are 50% higher than a few years ago.... Otherwise, I have had a blast on the radio the past week, what with the hubub of the Netherlands Antilles and other dutch territories going independent. It's been a lot of fun.
Thanks for breakfast, the heat is now turned on here, and everyone have a great day
44 here. I am chilled. Won't turn on heat quite yet. Probably by next week.
Big 12 - Texas won. Congratulations. I can't talk about it any more....
Gopd morning. 48 degrees and clear in Carolina, expected high of 78 later. Will say more when I wake up!
Everyone have a great day
good morning
work is done.time for a nap.this afternoon we need to find a new shower faucet.Cw thanks for breakfast.
Good Monday morning everyone. Larry, depending on how your weather is supposed to be this next weekend, maybe you should look for the long johns . You might be a tad bit warmer.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Regular breakfast menu items are on the serving station.
Woke up with a temp of 55 degrees this morning. Going for a high in low to mid 80s again today. Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.
Whew! Two days at the "pumpkin patch." Rain, wind, even some occasional sun, but mostly cold as well. Dressed warm, but with no heat source, it gets old quick! Had to use cast iron brake shoes to help hold the canopy in place on Saturday.
I shot some video of the visitors arriving on one trip on Saturday, and entering the patch on Sunday. I'll get that up on Youtube later in the week.
In the distance is "TC4" - our ride to the site. There is road access, but we had the pumpkins loaded on the TC, as well as other stuff, so we just rode the rails up to the site.
For now, I'm pooped. See ya tomorrow.
afternoon
had a great time in deshler yesterday. Lots of trains and non stop meets.Today was our sunday schools food fest.then Matt was taken to a local corn maze and had a great time.Time to get things ready for work tonight.Jim we are sorry to hear about your loss.
.........A beautiful Sunday...Again, clear blue skies....bright sunshine and now moderate temps. Believe it was 49 as I first looked at it early this morning.
Church as usual, and then a short break and headed to Olive Garden meeting another couple. Had our favorite waitress and good food.
Then....The manager came and told us today it was all on the house for being good costomers. We do visit there almost every Sunday. Today the girls split a glass of wine between them, and my total share of the bill was {just a portion of the wine}, $3.76...! So our waitress enjoyed an especially good tip.
Nascar Race was run last night at the really great facility of Charlotte, so don't have that to do this afternoon....Might be nap time soon.
Well, it is just about time for lunch, and Walt and I have warmed up the spaghetti casserole, and have some Italian bread fresh out of the oven. Both are now on the serving station/warmer. There is also some pizzas left from last night; you also have your choice of Caesar salad or garden salad.
Desserts: peach or apple cobbler, homemade chocolate cream pie, and whatever flavor ice cream you want with dessert.
Good morning and peace be with you. At present 42 and clear in Carolina just before sunrise. The guess is for a high of 79 today.
I have been up all night arguing with a bad remote antenna switch. After I catch 40, there is one other thing I need to try before deciding on buying a replacement. It would go out just when I need it the most. Oh well, so ist das leben.
America lost a real icon when Barbara Billingsley passed away yesterday. She was indeed the all American mom....
Everyone have a great day and C U later
Good Sunday morning everyone. A cool 49 degrees here in Louisville this morning, with clear skies. Supposed to get up to 80 for the high today. So it is going to be another beautiful day.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning: blueberry and strawberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy and home fries.
Everyone enjoy your morning, keep your wits about you, take care, and I'll see you all later this afternoon.
Well, USC went to Kentucky for some reason, but apparently not to play football. I was afraid they would have the big head after Alabama. Congrats to the Wildcats and their fans.
Thanks to everybody for your kind thoughts, wishes and notes...they mean a lot to me and my wonderful loving bride Diane.
PIZZA MENU FOR TONIGHT:
1. Anchovie
2. Canadian bacon
3. Cheese
4. Chicago style
5. Goetta
6. Hawaiian
7. Italian sausage
8. Pepperoni/mushroom

And, if anyone doesn't happen to be in the mood for pizza, Walt has made up a big, big batch of his spaghetti casserole. (And yes, there will be enough of it for Sunday Dinner tomorrow, too!)
Jim, condolences to you and your family on your loss, from Mutt and myself. Remember all the good times you had together throughout the years, and that will help the sorrow.
Jim: sympathy from Boss and Mud as well.
Jim - deepest sympathy from Jen & Driver.
....A cool but beautiful Saturday morning here. Blue skies, with lots of sunshine. Noted 41 on temp., but we certainly did have frost on the grass. To be up to 68 today.
Got my lawn smoothed over and of course with our mulching mower, took care of what leaves have blown from the western neighbors large trees. So, even though suffering from extreme dry, it certainly looks better now. The 3/4" of rain one day this week certainly did invite some green to start looking better.
....Condolences to you {Jim}, and family members on your loss.
Our condolences to you and your family Jim....
