Dan, hope the water isn't getting in your house!  That would not be a good thing.  Hope you all are all right!

Backyard under 7"+ of water, and so is the garden.  I'm gonna give up on veggies and switch to Koi.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Well, we're in for a scorcher today!  Starting out at 77 degrees F., going for a high of 97 (but the heat index will range anywhere between 100 and 105).  I am really glad that we now have air conditioning in our home!  Although, I may try to take a walk in just a little bit, before it gets too hot out there.

Mookie, Willy, Brian, Dan:  hope you all fared well overnight!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly prepared and ready to go.  On the warmer/serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, BLTs, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, papaya, kiwi, cantaloupe, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries

Everyone keep cool, stay hydrated when you're outside, especially, be safe and take care!!

Mookie
Brian - looks like it is just about to your front door!  You are welcome!

Watching the radar here- looks like it's fizzling, if you ask me.  Whatever is left should get here within the next hour.  They haven't even issued any watches for us yet.

We had more than 3" of rain in less than 2.5 hours and sustained winds (briefly) of around 50 mph, gusts around 65.  Trees (no, not Larry), powerlines, and lots and lots of street flooding will keep the PD/FD busy overnight.  Wait...it gets better, round 3 is just around the corner.

Willy - that was quite a rain storm.  The spotters found a wall cloud west of us, but we really just got good hard rain for awhile.  No damage and lots of good water!  And we dropped from 95 to 73!  Ah.  Brian - looks like it is just about to your front door!  You are welcome!

Well, had a temperature of 96 with a heat index of 115 degrees earlier today. Now another awesome storm, with over an inch of rain. I'm not going to make any friends saying this, but I love this kind of weather.

A local farmer told me his range gauge shows 30 inches of rain since he planted the corn. His fields drain well, so he is happy. This month the rain has come in downpours with not too much wind and no hail.

We currently have a temp of 85 degrees, with a heat index of 91, and later today, the heat index is supposed to be right at 100.  Very muggy outside.

Here is the menu for the rest of the day:  Chinese.

1.  Beef w/broccoli

2.  Shrimp w/mixed vegetables

3.  Moo goo gai pan

4.  Chicken chow mein

5.  Srhimp w/cashew nuts

6.  Roast pork egg foo young

7.  Broccoli w/garlic sauce

8.  Chicken, beef or shrimp Lo mein

9.  Boneless spare ribs

All nine dinners are served with fried rice.

Going to go outside after a bit, and wash our wastebaskets and the garbage bin.  With this heat, they'll all be dry in no time!

Everyone enjoy, have a good afternoon, keeping cool and take care.

Good morning. 83 degrees and sunny in Carolina, with 72% humidity to go with it, and the heat index is 97! We missed out on the fun last night when the storms passed well to the south of us.

One of my girls jumped ship this morning, and my gimped up self had to go out and try to get her back in. Finally gave up and she came back on her own!!

Everyone take care

Tom

82 degrees with a heat index of 92 degrees at 8:00 am here in Omaha. The temperature last night never even fell into the 70s... stayed right at 80 all night. Severe storms late this afternoon, which will head toward Brian in Cedar Rapids.

Willy - puter temp said 80 at 5 am.  No wonder I was "glistening" this morning!

....it's a nice sunny, but muggy morning here in west Muncie area.....And lots of activity here at what we call our own....

Workers installing a new patio door.....Son in law & daughter due in this morning as he will be painting outside trim on the house and two doors.

ATT fellow just left trying to overcome a noise on our phone system when we get some hard rains....Believe he did locate the problem.....and of course our {new pup}, has to get used to all this activity happening here today.  Believe she's checked everyone out and has settled down a bit.  She's a nosy miniture Dachshund just a bit over a year old.....and still very full of energy.....But she's part of the family now...

So we're off to a pretty good start this morning.....

JoeKoh
we had a short sprinkle last night.when I went to work they had a downpour. The distance is 25 miles apart.

I once witnessed the edge of a rainshower - from the dry side.

I was standing on the balcony of the student union at our community college when a shower passed.  The parking lot was basically empty at the time and you could see a definitive edge of the rain.  Wet there, dry here.

As for the downpour -  same thing happened here last night.  A friend posted a shot of a parking lot awash and a mere 20 minutes away we got a few sprinkles.  On top of that, the disparity was due largely to the moderating effects of Lake Ontario, as discussed recently over at the lounge.

Looking like another warm and humid one today.

CW - we are late!  I just heard one parked right over thar....he whistled 2 short and then just a couple of min later, I heard the xing whistle.  Unfortunately, I can't see them from here, but sure can hear them!

95 today.  Going to send grandson to swimming pool.  He gets wet and cool and I get a few min - well, he is so quiet, I can't say quiet.  How about 2 hours of not having to shut the bathroom door?  Blush

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  It's going to be a 3H day around Kentuckiana:  74 degrees right now, going for a high in the mid 90s again today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.

On the warmer/serving station this morning:  cantaloupe, watermelon, kiwi, papaya, bagels, bear claws, bacon & sausage, scrambled eggs, cold cereal.

Everyone enjoy your morning, keep as cool as possible, and take care.  Uh, Mookie, here's your coffee, how's about we go out in the garden, and watch some trains going by?

The visit to the dentist went well, no cavities and only one chipped place that'll keep. Afterwards, we went to a local steak house and helped them clean off the buffet bar. We did our best, but some was left. Everyone enjoy the all star game and see ya.

With all that downpour we got this morning, our rain guage showed just under 1 1/2 inches of rain.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta has been replenished on the warmer/serving station.

Enjoy, and you all have a great evening.  Think Walt and I will be watching the all star game in about 45 minutes.  See you tomorrow.

Sending some hot weather your way.

We'll pass, Ms Mook - we've already got plenty of hot weather here.

Got one of the week's projects essentially done.  On to mowing the lawn...

Sending some hot weather your way.  Something a little different than rain.  Moisture and heat for braising of humans.

Ventured trackside this morning.  Busy enough, but saw a bright blue/white face Gp38 with BNSF in big letters along the body.  Looks like a twin to the EMDX ahead of it, but for the name.  Was doing a local transfer.  I rather like the new paint scheme for BNSF - maybe they will like it too?  Or not.

Keep it guys!  Toss the UGH ORANGE!

Hi, I'm baaaack.  Produce went well this morning.  The rain was pouring this morning, so the Freedom School shared the gym with us, a small corner.  We put the produce in the hallway, like we do in the winter time.  And everything went smoothly.  We got potatoes, cabbage, bags of chopped romaine lettuce, little cartons of orange juice and zuchini.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now on the warmer/serving station:

1.  Burritos (beef, beef & bean, beef enchilada)

2.  Tacos (hard shell and soft shell)

3.  Spanish Rice

4.  Chimichangas

5.  Fajitias

6.  Sour cream chicken enchiladas

And there is shredded lettuce w/diced tomatoes, and sliced onions, if anyone wants them.

Should probably go out and check to see how much rain is in the rain guage.  Haven't checked that out yet.  Our high this afternoon is supposed to be in the mid 80s.

You all enjoy, have a good afternoon, and I'll see you all again later on.

Good morning from Carolina. 73 degrees, same as it was 12 hours ago. It hasn't changed all night. The storm last night caused a lot of damage to the west. A tornado or two hit Sumter County and blew down numerous trees, and lightning hit several houses, starting fires. It was quite a time.

Today is dentist day, for joy for joy.

Everyone take care

Tom
