Good Thursday morning, everyone.  We currently have a temp of 78 degrees, going to be another 3H day here, with a heat index of right around 100.  Will have plenty of cold beverages on hand, to keep everyone hydrated:  water, vitamin water, Gatorade (just got a fresh load in yesterday), iced teas, lemonade, fruit punch, grape-aid, orange-aid, etc.

Coffee is ready, and other morning beverages, including juices, are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer/serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, a nice selection of fruits, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh sliced tomatoes (red, yellow and pink)

Wonder who will be in next this morning.  Whomever it is, they get to select the menu for the rest of the day.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you after a bit.

....Well, it's just "hot" outside: 92, but....the humidity must be extremely high because it feels like being in an oven.  Did see a 74 figure for humidity this morning, but can't say what it is now.

Talk of those Asian foods.....Wow.....That would make me run...."away", as fast as I could.

According to Wikipedia, Kimchi (one of the recognized spellings)" ... is a traditional Korean dish, made of vegetables with varied seasonings. While kimchi is primarily a fermented[1][2] dish, it also appears in unfermented [3] forms. There are hundreds of varieties of kimchi, made with a main vegetable ingredient such as napa cabbage, radish, green onion or cucumber.[4] Kimchi is the most common banchan, or side dish, in Korean cuisine. Kimchi is also a main ingredient for many popular Korean dishes such as kimchi stew (김치찌개; kimchi jjigae), kimchi soup (김칫국; kimchi gook), and kimchi fried rice (김치볶음밥; kimchi bokkeumbap).

Mudchicken, I knew you would be in trouble when you mentioned "sesame cat."

Hot here, in the upper nineties (we have had two days in the past week over one hundred). Low relative humidity, but it is still hot outside. Thundershowers here and there, but none right here. Our street is to have a new coat of slurry seal put on tomorrow, so I parked the car around the corner, hoping for a free carwash--but only clouds that are stingy.

Here and there, showers have put some fires out (some were started by fireworks; Saturday is the big day for celebration in Utah, as Brigham Young brought the main body into the valley on 7-24-1847.

Kimchi and Haggis are both on my list of foods I probably won't try in this lifetime.  They are right below asparagus.

Yes - like both Chinese and Vietnamese.  Neither one (if I am careful in choosing) will set my face on fire!

Sesame chicken is wonderful if you haven't tried it.  And any Vietnamese noodle bowl is usually excellent - and won't tear your gall bladder out and hand it to you!

Rain in area.  KS seems to have it tied to the north boarder right now.  Not sure just where it is going this pm.

Haven't heard any BNSF today.  Just realized that it is pretty quiet out there.  Thanx to quiet crossings, I can only hear the southbounds and - nothing.

Oh well, sometimes nothing is good!

I don't know what our current temp is, but it feels nice outside, with a nice little breeze blowing.  We are, though, supposed to be getting some more rain, sometime later this afternoon, or tonight.

Here is our menu for the rest of the day:  Chinese

1.  Fried rices:  Roasted pork, shrimp, beef, chicken, vegetable, or plain fried rice

2.  Soup:  wonton, egg drop, chicken noodle, chicken rice

3.  Lo Mein:  plain, vegetable, roast pork, chicken, beef, shrimp

4.  Chow Mein:  chicken, beef, shrimp

5.  Dinners:  Moo goo gai pan, Kung po chicken, sweet & sour  shrimp, seafood combo, pepper steak, boneless spare ribs, chicken w/broccoli

Hope you all enjoy; have a very good afternoon, keep safe and take care.

......Another nice Summer morning.  Earlier, 72 degrees...Perhaps that means high 80's for this afternoon, if we are not in thunderstorms then.

Good morning all. Last night, PBS showed "B-29. Frozen in time." It was the filming of a group's effort to restore a B-29 bomber and fly it off the remote area in Greenland where it had been abandoned for 50 years.

Good Wednesday morning ,everyone.  Dan, thank you very much for fixing breakfast this morning!  I didn't get to bed until after 11:30 (we were watching the movie "The Honeymooners"), so managed to sleep in this morning.  That is one very funny movie.  Cedric the Entertainer is playing Ralph Kramden.  It is a riot!

We have 75 degrees right now, and when I woke up, and opened the front door to get the paper, noticed the porch was wet, and so was the glider!  So, we must have gotten quite a bit, even though I never heard any thunder, or the rain.

You all have a good morning, keep safe and stay cool today.

Mornin' folks.

The steaks (ham and beef) are ready along with the eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and sausage.  Got some fruit cut up and chilled on ice for those that want it.  Up and at 'em...

Circling the corned beef & cabbage.......

We continue to get a lot of noise and little moisture. Da boyz think I am protection from the unwanted noise (had two dogs glued to me for 45 minutes)

A two dog nite?  Think that is already taken in another form.  Maybe try Chicken Two Dogs?

Quiet nite - no storms, no moisture - kept waking up due to silence!

Barbara has suggested Mac & Cheese Casserole, plus biscuits & a side salad for lunch. Sweet corn would be good too. I suggest blackberry cobbler Ala mode for dessert.

Bob, I like Barb's idea, so, since I didn't make it back in here until now, here is tonight's supper menu:

Mac & cheese casserole w/sweet corn, salad, and biscuits

Corned beef w/sweet corn, salad and biscuits.

And for dessert:

1.  Blackberry cobbler and 2.  Cherry cobbler, both as is, or w/ice cream (whatever flavor you wish to have w/your cobbler).

With the rain we had early this morning, when Walt checked the rain guage, it showed we got 1 1/4 inches.  So won't have to water flowers and tomato plants tonight.

Everyone enjoy, have a good evening, and you all take care.  See you all in the morning.

Will send this on east to anyone that thinks they want some of it.

Well, we didn't ask, but it appears we got some just the same.  Thanks!

Just managed to finish mowing the lawn as a few drops fell.  I suspect there's plenty more - it's in the area it just has to find its way here.

Teaching a Red Cross class tonight and working the railroad Wednesday and Thursday.  Gotta get cracking so I can finish up all my preparations.
