Good morning. 83 degrees and sunny in Carolina, with 72% humidity to go with it, and the heat index is 97! We missed out on the fun last night when the storms passed well to the south of us.
One of my girls jumped ship this morning, and my gimped up self had to go out and try to get her back in. Finally gave up and she came back on her own!!
Everyone take care

A contentious woman is like a constant dripping! (Solomon)

......Hot, hot, hot....91 plus and high humidity. Sunshine.
New Patio door installed and finished. Very pleased.

A local farmer told me his range gauge shows 30 inches of rain since he planted the corn. His fields drain well, so he is happy. This month the rain has come in downpours with not too much wind and no hail.
Well, had a temperature of 96 with a heat index of 115 degrees earlier today. Now another awesome storm, with over an inch of rain. I'm not going to make any friends saying this, but I love this kind of weather.
Willy
Willy - that was quite a rain storm. The spotters found a wall cloud west of us, but we really just got good hard rain for awhile. No damage and lots of good water! And we dropped from 95 to 73! Ah. Brian - looks like it is just about to your front door! You are welcome!
We had more than 3" of rain in less than 2.5 hours and sustained winds (briefly) of around 50 mph, gusts around 65. Trees (no, not Larry), powerlines, and lots and lots of street flooding will keep the PD/FD busy overnight. Wait...it gets better, round 3 is just around the corner.
Dan
MookieBrian - looks like it is just about to your front door! You are welcome!
Watching the radar here- looks like it's fizzling, if you ask me. Whatever is left should get here within the next hour. They haven't even issued any watches for us yet.
Good Thursday morning, everyone. Well, we're in for a scorcher today! Starting out at 77 degrees F., going for a high of 97 (but the heat index will range anywhere between 100 and 105). I am really glad that we now have air conditioning in our home! Although, I may try to take a walk in just a little bit, before it gets too hot out there.
Mookie, Willy, Brian, Dan: hope you all fared well overnight!
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly prepared and ready to go. On the warmer/serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, BLTs, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, papaya, kiwi, cantaloupe, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries
Everyone keep cool, stay hydrated when you're outside, especially, be safe and take care!!
Backyard under 7"+ of water, and so is the garden. I'm gonna give up on veggies and switch to Koi.
Dan, hope the water isn't getting in your house! That would not be a good thing. Hope you all are all right!
morning
Dan hope you don't have to row row row a boat!!! The rain will be making its way over here to NW ohio by tonight.Cw thanks for breakfast.Time for bed.we have errands to do this afternoon.

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
CW,No water in the house at this point. Water trying to find its way to the garage but I'm telling it that it's going the wrong way: "Ya shoulda turned left at Albequrke!"
Joe,No boats (yet) but glad the 4x4 has sealed/vented axles and a high intake. I felt like I was in a version of "Oregon Trail" with all the reborn streams around. No wagon wheels broke or oxen died.
We're doing ok on our side of town now but the SW part may be worse off. Several streets are closed as "Impassible" and there are many trees missing branches and power poles missing lines. Aedan slept through the whole thing.
I'm glad it was someone else's turn- I don't think we even got wet here.
Water happens. Oh yeah, raining again. Wondering if any RRs in WI will be having water issues.
The Mississippi must have stopped all the rain before it got to Illinois.
Good morning and peace be with you. 83 and a hot index of 105 in Carolina at present, headed for 93 and a hot index of 109!! Kinda warm in our free state this AM.
Got up early and got the grocery shopping done, but it was already hot and sticky. Thank G-D I only have to go every 2 weeks or so. It took a while to get ready, tho. For a while I was seeing 3 of everything....
Everyone take care and stay sqfe
Dan, glad no water has gotten into the house! Walt and I just came in from our front porch, and it feels like an oven, even though it is shaded by the pine tree. Hate to think of what it is going to feel like out there between 4 and 9 p.m. tonight, when the sun is on the west side of us (which is the direction our front porch faces).
Here is the menu for the rest of the day:
1. Sloppy joes
2. Hamburgers
Both will be served with your choice of fries, potato wedges, and garden salad.
Desserts today: ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM (I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!)
Walt and I are both planning on short bus trips after a little bit: him to the library for reading material, and me to the grocery for some more chicken for our supper here at home tonight. It will be grilled on our little George Foreman Champ grill.
Everyone enjoy your afternoon, keep safe and take care, please!
cherokee woman: ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM (I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!)
YEA! Chocolate preferred.
I'll bet I can get one dip of pistachio and one dip of swiss almond for me (which I can't do in real life - don't think they sell either one any more) and 2 dips of butter pecan for the Driver!
Boy CW, that would be great!
can you hear us from NW ohio?? YEA ice cream.we are under a storm watch now.radar shows bright colors from Ft Wayne to Indy. We'll see what we get.time to get ready for work.
Joe
Two thumbs up here in Alamo City for ice cream.....our temperature is currently 93, but with the humidity the "feels like" temperature is 108!!!!!
When I came home from my walk this morning, I found water running off the roof--and we have had no rain for several days. The float that shuts the swamp cooler fill water off had water in it, so it did not float as it should. I took it off, drilled a couple of holes in it (I know not how the water got in), dried it out, plugged the holes, let the plugs dry (I hope), and put it back on. We shall see if I saved myself the cost and installation labor of a new valve (you cannot buy just a float).
We expect to hit 100 degrees tomorrow, without rain in sight. Willy, can you help us out?
I had an interesting experience in the past two weeks. Two weeks ago today, I pushed what I thought was simply some greenery out of my way as I was walking (there is not supposed to be any growth within seven feet above the sidewalk); I gained a few rose thorns in my hand. A few days later, I was running a fever which I have now overcome. Yesterday, I saw our doctor, and he told me that it is possible to get an infection from rose thorns. I had never before heard of such.
Johnny
JoeKohwe are under a storm watch now.radar shows bright colors from Ft Wayne to Indy. We'll see what we get.
Well Joe, we got it a couple of hours ago and I can tell you we received .7" of rain, and some wind. Just some leaves down in yards.....Lasted a half hour or so.
And Spokyone....You're right on....Chocolate is preferred. In fact, I just finished off a dixie cup of same right here at the computer board. And it was very good. Simply, Meijer's chocolate ice cream.
Noted our high today {before the rain}, was 95.5 degrees with extremely high humidity.
Modelcar Noted our high today {before the rain}, was 95.5 degrees with extremely high humidity.
Good Friday morning, all. Quentin, I'm not sure about the .5, but our high yesterday was 95, and with the humidity, it felt about 105 degrees. Last night, at 10:00 p.m., it was still 90 degrees. We have gotten some rain overnight, started somewhere between 1 and 3:00 a.m. Still looking for some scattered showers/storms throughout the day. Projected high today is to be 90, 91 degrees. Humidity is still high, though, so it's going to be another muggy, muggy day around Kentuckiana.
Johnny, you're right: I've never heard before that you can get an infection from a rose. Hope you are doing better!
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go. On the warmer/serving station this morning: a few bagels & bear claws, along with an assortment of doughnuts. Don't worry, Mookie: we also have plenty of the chocolate covered, cream filled long johns we both love to eat!! There are also some brownies, with a blue border of icing on them.
Everyone have a good morning, keep safe and stay cool.
good morning
Q I called my dad and they got nothing out of what was in Indiana.we got a sprinkle.
the weekend is here.going to be a triple h weekend.have some errands this morning then it's train time.will keep plenty of water on hand.cw thanks for breakfast.
The front that ran through Joes area yesterday got here this morning and is doing a nice job of wringing itself out. Since it started a couple of hours ago, we've gotten an inch and a quarter of rain.
We've been getting some bumps and rumbles, too.
It's supposed to clear up later, but it also looks like I could get wet working on the railroad this weekend.
Time to figure out what I'm going to do today...

Good morning from Carolina. 82 and sunny this morning, headed for 93 and a hot index of a hunnert. It's been quiet here, for a change. All the storms have been moving south of us for the past few days and we have been spared the artillery.
Everyone have a great day
