Good morning from Carolina. Currently 83, headed for 100 so they say, and then it may get hot.

Got a call into the city manager about the $324 water bill we got. I had the service checked, no leak and no washouts, bill is wrong. Will advise.

Take care and stay safe

Tom

have to go to the hospital for my 6 month mammogram/ultrasound.

To put everyone's mind at ease:  No, I am not pregnant!!  That department departed the depot quite a few years ago.  They (doctors & hospitals) do ultrasounds for several things now, like on the chest area of women, and about 21 years ago, Walt had ultrasound treatments on his back, after the ambulance accident.  So, they're not just to look at babies in wombs.

Everything went well, as expected, on the mammogram (didn't even have to have the ultrasound today), so I don't have to go back for a year.

Joe and everyone, for supper tonight, you'll find on the serving station:

Hoagies/subs of the following:  1.  beef roast, turkey, ham w/your choice of tater chips, fries (curly or regular) and there is sherbet for dessert (orange, pinapple, lime).

Everyone keep cool, have a good evening, and take care.

.....I'm sure other places were hotter than us today, but today was the warmest I've seen here this season....96.4 late this afternoon, with clear skies all day.

Tomorrow, a chance of rain.....Probably will be spotty.  We need some again, as the heat has a way of drying out the growing things.

This terrible heat {especially in the east}, must make authorities a bit nervous about some rail heat kinks....

Hey Paula. I'm pleased to hear the exam went well. We stayed in Wisconsin last night, looking forward to the canoe trip this morning. The isolated thunder storm turned into an all morning rain, then a thunderstorm. We canceled the river run and came home. We will try again later in the month.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Bob, sorry to hear about your cancelled river run.  Sure would have been cooler on the water!

Tom, you'll just have to find someone else, to help pick out baby names.  Sorry about that!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving/warmer station this morning:  the usual bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy.

We have cloudy skies this morning, with a temp of 78 degrees.  Supposed to get back up in the mid to upper 90s again today.  Yesterday's high was 97 degrees F.  We have a chance of some rain/tshowers for later today.  Our high tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler, somewhere in the 80s.

Everyone have a good morning, keep cool and take care.  Going to see what mischief I can get into (won't be much, as I don't see Mookie anywhere around).

Good afternoon. It's already 93 in Carolina, supposed to push 100 later. The guess is for cooler temps this weekend along with thunderstorms. We'll see,

The city came out this morning and supposedly checked the water meter to see why they showed such a tremendous water usage. I am anxious to see what they found.

Everyone take care and stay cool and safe

.....This has been another hot one.....Stopped at our local Family Restaurant {near the east / west CSX main tracks, for lunch today.  Sunshine and very hot as we went in.  In parking my Xtreme S-10 truck, I left the side windows down a half inch or so, and  cracked the sun roof, not opened back, just up a small amount in the rear.....Yep...!  A fast moving quick rain / wind blast came thru....{and I really forgot about opening the sunroof a bit}, well, need not explain....

Truck is now in the garage with doors and side windows open....and of course the sunroof fully open.....Could be worse, but we did get some water.....Since 2 pm, it also has a big pedestal fan blowing in one side to hurry the drying.....

Believe we'll survive ok, without really any real damage, but I would have hurried out {in the rain}, to close the open units, but it had slipped my thoughts....My bad.  Perhaps I'll be even more cautious next time....Thought I was up to this point, but failed this time.

It will dry.  And to top it off.....we need rain here.....and when we returned home and got into our addition, the streets were just about dry.  The restaurant is about 4 mi. east of us.  But we did received some {for the yard}, a bit later this afternoon, and it was just fertlized this morning.....

Open all windows and sun roof.

Hide in garage and pretend to be asleep.

Afternoon, all.  It's been really hot here, again.  Our high today was 96, and the heat index ranged from 100 to 102.  We heard thunder earlier, but in our neighborhood, haven't seen any rain, not even a sprinkle.  In the eastern part of the city/county, they have gotten downpours.  Maybe we 'll get at least a little bit later on tonight, or tomorrow.

Supper tonight:  Chinese

Appetizers:  1.  Shrimp egg roll; 2.  Egg drop soup; 3.  Fried wonton

Soup:  1.  Wonton; 2.  Chicken noodle soup; 3.  Egg drop;

Fried Rice:  1.  Roast pork; 2.  Shrimp; 3.  beef; 4.  Chicken; 5.  Special (combo of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp)

Lo Mein:  1.  Plain; 2.  Vegetable;  3.  Shrimp; 4.  Beef

Dinners:  1.  Sweet & sour chicken;  2.  Beef w/broccoli; 3.  Moo goo gai pan; 4.  Chicken chow mein;  5.  Beef w/snow peas; 6.  Shrimp egg foo young; 7.  Pepper steak; 8.  Boneless spare ribs

Hope everyone enjoys, have a good evening and take care.

Hot?  I guess it's hot!  Fortunately, my crew today decided I'd to the PA work while they did the railroad work (sometimes it's good to be the conductor!).

Still - 3 H's in spades.  Whew!  Good think our main car has decent air conditioning.  Glad I wasn't stuck in the cab of the F unit...

I'll have something cool for supper...

Good Friday morning, all.  It's not too bad here in Louisville this morning.  Our temp if somewhere between 73 and 75 degrees, and our projected high for today is 83.  Have no idea whether we ever got any rain last night or not.  I didn't know anything, after I laid my head on the pillow last night, until 5 this morning.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warming/serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, cantaloupe and watermelon chunks, kiwi, papaya.

You all enjoy your morning, keep safe, and keep as cool as possible.

Overcast but bright here this morning.....Somewhat cooler too.  Some rain passed thru various areas yesterday afternoon / evening, and cooled it down a bit.  Here:  .4"   But windows still closed, because it's probably still good and humid, and it's warming up some.....Sunshine back tomorrow, if not sooner.

Well, I did make it back in a little bit earler than I have been lately.  Here is our menu for the rest of the day:

FISH:  catfish, haddock, halibut, flounder, jumbo butterfly shrimp, talapia, salmon patties

SIDE DISHES:  baked beans, corn on the cob, cornbread, fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, breaded deep fried mushrooms

DESSERTS:  chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, and the following cobblers:  apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry. There are also a couple of pies:  rhubard and pecan.  All desserts can be accompanied with ice cream.

We did get some more rain this morning, around 8 a.m.  Everyone have a good afternoon, and take care.

Battening down the hatches and making sure the storm drainage is clear - looks like we're gonna get wet.  We have a flash flood watch - several warnings have been issued around the state.

That after .4 inches about 6 this morning.  I'm not complaining, though, we've been pretty dry of late.

I'm trying to cut down on my fried foods, so I'll have to go with the salmon patty, with slaw and some cornbread on the side.

That apple cobbler sounds good, though.
