Cannonball Jim, good to see you in this morning, along with the others who have been in.  Produce truck came early again this morning.  I was back home just around 10 a.m.  Had 56 people today.  But my helpers were on the ball, and we got everyone out lickety split.

Today's menu:  open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters & beef gravy, mac & cheese, corn, broccoli & rice w/butter sauce.

Everyone have a good afternoon, and take care.

Smile  Willy;  last year we rode the S/W Chief from FLG. to CHG.& back. That is quite a ride with changes of scenery.  Are you going to  drive to TUC.  on I-17 ??  If so ,you will pass Cordes Jct. at  mp. 262 . This is our home20.  It is also a truck stop ( Shell)  and fast food diner. From here it is about 100 mi. to Tuc. Hope your trip is fun.  ~~~ Cannonball

Good morning all from Prescott, AZ! Bright sun but cool at 5600 feet in the AZ mountains, about 46 now and into mid 60's this afternoon.

I received my third cortisone shot to my lower spine yesterday and cannot have any more until late September. Right now I am the most comfortable I have been in 60 days so with the help of Aleve I hope to continue functioning W/O surgery.

Enough about my problrm, all of you railroaders have a great, safe, day.

.......Another day here and it's overcast and a bit of rain occasionally.  Checked my rain gauge and during the night we gathered 1" of rain.  Temp now just a bit above 50 degrees.  Chance of rain today and a few more ahead of us.

Must run as we have a schedule to have some preventive maintenance on our automobile at the dealer at 10.  Then, on to breakfast.....In the truck.

Nice and sunny here this morning, but just like in February, that sun belies the fact that the temperature at 6 AM was 23F.  That's two overnight freezes in a row here.

Of course, many areas of New York state had snow for Mother's Day.

Saw my doctor yesterday.  We had a nice chat at the home improvement store, where she and her husband were buying stain for the deck....

Off to the day's projects.

Good morning- it's 39 degrees here in Sioux Falls and kind of wet here, it had been raining here all night last night. Today we have a 30% chance of rain showers and tomorrow we have a 70% chance of rain showers. I mowed my own yard the night before last and I'm glad I got it done.

I'll be off to see my own doctor in a couple hours, and I'm looking forward to this visit, but on the other hand, I'm not!!

I hope the rest of yo all have a very good day!

Good Tuesday morning, folks.  We currently have 57 degrees and rain.  We'll have mostly rain this morning, turning into thundershowers this afternoon and tonight.  We have at least a 40% chance of some type of showers/t-showers through the rest of the week.  It looks like Sarah got through with the grass cutting/weeding just in time!!

I'm glad to hear that our patients came through their surgeries!  Just remember, you two, to follow doctor's orders, and listen to your nurses and better halves!  They will all keep you on the right track.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  BLTs , bagels, bear claws, sausage, oatmeal and toast.

If any of you have any requests for today, just let me know, and I'll get started on it, after I get back from Produce.

Everyone have a very good morning, keep dry if you're in the areas getting rain, and everyone take care.

Sigh Paula; with all the passings these few days past , I don't feel happy. All my folks and Shirl's  are gone. More than a few of our trucker friends are gone or slipping away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Diner folks who have family and friends who have gone on. Isn't it odd when we were younger we never thought much about this? We can be thankfull for the folks who are still with us. ~~~~ Respectfully , Jim & Shirl  Smile

Brian - Glad to hear everything went well. You can see some trains from the window, I understand?

Willy, anything that moves on the rails through downtown CR cannot escape my vision.  Currently catching glimpses of local UP switcher jockeying cars around down by the Cargill plant on the south side.  Almost makes me wish I develop a relapse...

Got an extra ticket for the Southwest Chief?

Well, I survived the procedure rather well, I think. The Dr is a very nice young man and wants me to come back for another try in about a year. Nuff sed bout that!

It was good to get something to eat and drink after 36 hours. Now, for a nap

Randy: You and your family are in my prayers.

Major tornado outbreak in Kansas this afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, it's rainy and only 49 degrees here in Omaha. What a start to summer vacation!

Less than a week until my family and I go on vacation to Arizona. We'll be riding the Southwest Chief from Kansas City to Flagstaff and then making a circle-ish tour of Arizona before heading back. Should be fun, especially seeing the Grand Canyon and visiting a friend from Creighton in Tucson.

Randy - my condolences.

Hilton is running medical centers now?

The wonders of medical technology.  Had today's cardiac technology existed in 1962, my father would probably still be with us.

Thanks for all the prayers and wishes so far, everyone.  Looks as if I will be extending my vacation until at least Wednesday, parents are still planning the funeral arrangements.  Parents are taking it hard, me, not so much, never did when grandfather Jerry died in 1993, either.

Cool here today, forecast high to be near 60, rain moving in tonight for rest of week.  Come to think of it, rained when grandpa died too.....

Huh, things one remembers sometimes.  Think I'll go watch the CN mainline for a while.......

Well, since it looks like things are on the slow side  in here today, here's the menu for the rest of the day:

Burgers, cheeseburgers w/fries or chips and garden salad.

I'm getting ready to head to the grocery in a little bit, to get some food in, hopefully for the rest of the month.  Hmmmm, food for 21 more days.  Hope I can manage it!

Everyone have a good afternoon, and take care.

Randy, my condolences to you over the loss of your grandmother. I wish I could be there to lphysically lend you my support in one way or another.

I went up to the Heart Hospital yesterday after 5:00 pm to see my brother, and he looked pretty rough - Tim loooked like he had gone a whole week without any sleep. On top of all this the doctors have told him and his wife that his heart is so badly damaged that there is nothing more they can do for him. How much time he's got left or how much longer he will live, God only knows. I am hoping and praying that God will allow him to have some quality time with his brothers and sisters before He sends His squadron of Angels to escort him home. But my brother did wake up yesterday, and he is talking, so that is at least a start, and a good sign as well.

All the best to Brian too, from us in Carolina.

Good Monday morning.  We have 47 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 67.    Should see plenty of sunshine today.  Then tonight, the rain comes in, for the next week.

Brian and Tom, sending prayers your ways today, for a safe outcome to your procedures!  Ray, glad to know that your brother is awake; I hope and pray that things continue to improve for him.

Randy, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother.  Our condolences to you and your family.  Take care.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, biscuits & gravy, cantaloupe and pineapple slices.

Everyone try to have a very good day and take care.

Yes indeed, G-D does hear and answers when we cry out to him.

Brian, thanks for the good wishes, and the same to you. Actually, I can't eat anything today either. My procedure is scheduled for 1130 Monday, and can't eat anything till it's finished. Phooey!
