Congrats Jim & Shirl! Best wishes to Mom and new daughter!
Joe - another blink and Matt will be patting you on the head!
She who has no signature! cinscocom-tmw
Good Friday morning, and Jim, Shirl and family: congrats on the new baby!!
Joe, that means Matt is, as Mookie, says, just about ready to pat you on the head! What are you and Stacey giving him to grow like that? Whatever it is, maybe pass it down this way, and we'll see if it'll help me.
Also, we have to wish to Brian Hanel this morning! Happy, Happy, Brian! May all your wishes come true, and may you see many, many trains today!
To celebrate Brian's birthday, for breakfast this morning, we have pancakes: plain, whole wheat, and blueberry. And the coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.
We are to be a bit 'cooler' today ourselves, here in Louisville: it's 71 degrees right now, going for a high of about 85 today. So not too bad.
A big ole happy birthday to Brian, and may you have Minnie Moore, whoever she is....
68 and clear in Carolina, with a projected 82 in store later. No thunder forecast, and nothing worth mentioning on the wireless.
Everyone have a safe day

Quentin, is this true?I heard Ford was going to stop making Mercurys.
Another cool wet day out here on the coast. The silver lining in all of these clouds is that I can't mow the lawn.
CW, thanks for breakfast.

Local news sources are reporting that at 0300 this morning, a fight erupted at a local juke joint aka night club. It spilled out into the parking lot where multiple fire fights occurred. When it was over, a security guard was wounded and a deputy sheriff had shot one of the perps graveyard dead. Not much else has been released. This is the second time in a month that a deputy has had to take out a scuzzball that drew down on him. The sheriff is justifiably concerned.
I wish I could get to my flagpole. If so, I would fly my flag. One of'em anyway. I have several, just can't physically get to the pole.
Ray, well said, and I remember What the word says about keeping quiet. Keep up the good work!
Well, since I haven't heard any preferences from our "Birthday Boy" Brian, here is what I've come up with for our menu for today: instead of our regular Friday Fish Fry, we're having a "Fish Grill today:
Grilled salmon steaks, grilled barbecued pork chops, and grilled jumbo butterfly shrimp, grilled trout, halibut, flounder and perch.
Side dishes: baked beans, grilled 'baked' taters, corn on the cob, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni & cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes (red & yellow)
Dessert: chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, and apple, blueberry, cherry and peach cobblers, all served with whatever flavor ice cream you'd like to have. There is also orange and pineapple sherbets.
Brian - Happy B'day! I will eat your chocolate cake for you. My gift to you. No thanks necessary.
Joe - I am heading to hotmail right now.
CW - to go please. I seem to be in a hurry these past few days. Must slow down and really retire, soon!
So am I in time to get the last piece? Sorry, been on the road all day. Now safely hiding at parents' house near Minneapolis. More fun tomorrow...
EDIT: Oh, and your menu selections were perfect, CW.
Another oh- Met up briefly with Dan and family (wife, kid, parents) at their hotel downtown this morning- all are doing well; they should be well on their way to Kansas.

nanaimo73Maybe you should always have your birthday on a Friday?
Something cooler than that is that my birthday usually falls on a three-day weekend here in the states, and sometimes on the holiday itself!
Cannonball; Congrats To You & Family on the New Addition to the Family!!

Dale, Quentin; there's a "Little Blurb" in todays Business Watch in the Louisville Courier-Journal....online: www.courier-journal.com
According to the article, the CEO and some of the other top people are going to ask the Board to approve a plan to phase out the Mercury brand.
I guess with the two Ford plants in this area, they thought it was something that we needed to know.
breakfast is on the warmer bar.juice coffee and gatorade are ready to go.going to be a warm one today.need extra h2o.The gm plant is getting upgrades and federal and state grants so it will keep running here in town. That will keep the y101 busy as well.

Good Saturday morning, everyone; and Joe, a very special thank you for coming in early and getting breakfast ready this morning!!
We have a temp of 70 degrees this morning, going for a high of 89,90 by 5 p.m. Our hazy, hot and steamy days are here. We have about a 20% chance of showers tomorrow evening. Hope no storms come through, so we can watch the Memorial Day Concert from DC on our local PBS station! We always enjoy watching that.
Don't know what time Sarah will be in from work. She had to work 3rd trick last night. Said on the job she was to work, she could be off at 7 this morning, or work 12 hours. So guess we'll see her whenever. As a matter of fact, I hear her pulling in right now!
Everyone have a good day, keep cool, keep safe, and take care.
Since Joe and I are the only ones to have been in today, our Satuday Night Pizza Fest is cut down to one extra large of the following:
1. Cheese w/extra cheese
2. Hawaiian
3. Pepperoni/mushroom
4. Supreme
But, if more people do happen to drop in, there are plenty of labeled pizzas in the freezer. Just take one out, and pop it into the oven, or the pizza baker, that is under the front counter.
Evening all.....
Well, about 85 here in Jackson, TN, so truck is running, again. Got to be in Cherokee, AL, at 5am tomorrow, so will be early night here. Ordered a new exhaust for my pickup yesterday from Banks Engineering, old 2.5 inch to 3 inch is rusted out, replacement is 4 inches from the turbo back. Should help in the mileage and power departments a bit, sound should stay about the same, so they say.
No pizza for me tonight, having problems with dairy products, so staying away from them for a while.
See everyone later.....

Hello Americans, it's Sunday. 67 and fog in Carolina at present. The boffins guess at 87 for a high and more thunderstorms late in the day.
Since I seem to be the first one here this morning, breakfast is on the bar along with your choice of beverage. Enjoy.
As a navy veteran, I ask each of you to thank those who didn't come back for the freedoms we all share. Without them, things may well have been different.
Everyone take care
Good Sunday morning, everyone. Randy, hope your tummy feels better soon!
Tom, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning. I really appreciate it. (I would have been in sooner, but I've been busy in my kitchen here at home. Been browning chicken and putting it into the Crock Pot w/potatoes and onion for our Sunday Dinner.)
Tom, thank you and all our other Vets here on the trainsmag forums, for your service to this country. Without you all and the ones who have gone before, we would not have the freedoms we have today.
If any of you (and I realize a lot of people are gone to spend the holiday weekend w/family) have any requests for our Sunday Dinner here at the Flat Wheel Cafe/Diner/CS, please let me know. I'm kind of thinking about grilling out this afternoon, but I want some input from you guys here!
Everyone have a very good morning, and I'll see you all after a bit.
cherokee womanTom, thank you and all our other Vets here on the trainsmag forums, for your service to this country. Without you all and the ones who have gone before, we would not have the freedoms we have today.
NOW:My nephew Todd, deploying soon with his guard unit. The camo quilts are for each man in his unit.
THEN: My ship from back in the day.
Well, since hardly anyone has been in today, we'll just go with the chicken abracadbra for Sunday Dinner. There are a couple of Crock Pots plugged in on the counter, and if anyone comes in, you can help yourselves.
About a half hour, 45 minutes ago, we got some very loud thunder. So far as I can tell, we never got a drop of rain. Just heard another rumble of thunder, and the sun is shining.
I'm setting the table for brfst. One fork for you, one fork for you, 2 forks for me....
One coffee cup for you, one coffee cup for you and one 64 oz coffee cup for me.

Hello Americans, it's Monday. 69 and partly sunny, calling for mid 80s and more thunderstorms later.
Does anyone else want to handle the move tomorrow, or do you want me to do it?
Everyone have a great day and take care
Good Monday morning, and Happy Memorial Day to one and all!
Mookie, thanks for setting the table last night! You are a dear, and we all love you!
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the serving station this morning:
Pancakes w/your choice of bacon or sausage, and scrambled eggs. There's blueberry syrup or maple syrup for the pancakes.
I hope the rain holds off (50% chance of showers/storms today), because I plan to grill out for our lunch and supper tonight. Guys, when we moved, did you all remember the awning for the patio? I'm having trouble finding it.
Also, I'm getting things ready to start moving into our new 'home' for the next month. So, it looks like I'll have a very busy day today.
Edit: Tom, looks like you snuck in on me! I'm getting things ready to start moving, so just look for the new edition either later tonight, or in the morning. Thanks for asking!
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, your day, and please remember the real reason we are celebrating today: our Military Personnel, especially the ones who are currently fighting for freedom, along with the ones who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.
Good Morning
Matt and I went down to our local parade. At the end 2 F-15 fighter jets flew right down clinton st.The y101 was cleaning up things in the yard.A maintainer was also in the yard working on a switch.I will watch the burgers and dogs on the grill.Going to need to take some for supper tonight for work.Take the time to remember those who gave all today.
