Evening, everyone.  Well, we got a good shower about and hour and a  half ago.  Right now, nothing but cloudy and overcast skies.  But we are under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. EDT.

Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:

1.  Canadian Bacon

2.  Cheese w/extra cheese

3.  Goetta

4.  Hawaiian

5.  Pepperoni/mushroom

6.  Pepperoni/sausage

7.  Supreme

8.  Italian Sausage

I went up to the library at noon time, and got stuck in residual traffic (streets still closed) due to the Mini Marathon & Marathon this morning.  I had to wait almost two hours to catch my bus coming back home.  Managed to walk in the front door just after 2 p.m.

Everyone enjoy your pizzas, and have a good evening.

I'll have a medium #6 with dipping sauce with a Mountain Dew. I bought some tomato plants today and transplanted into larger containers. I'll wait for a week before putting them in the patch.
A large thunder storm passed over with very strong winds. No hail, at least not in Aledo.

I'll have to pass on the pizza tonight, having had my fill all week at the PBS station auction.  Had roast beef tonight at our FD function.

I'm bushed - been straight out all week.  Next week is looking a little better, but I've still got a full slate.  One more night of the PBS auction then on to other projects.

Later...

Evening all- steady rain here as well.  We entertained three other couples tonight from our church, and I provided the main course for our dinner; of course I had to fix my Iowa Chops.  Managed to get them done, but not without hiding in the three seasons porch while the lightning was hitting really close.  Good thing the grill has a good lid...

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Man oh man, what a night!  Light rain, heavy rain, thunder, lightning, heavy winds.  For the present, everything around here is calm.  Yesterday afternoon, in eastern Jefferson County, lightning struck a family's roof, and set the whole house afire.  Completely destroyed.  Foruntately, no one hurt or killed.

Brian, around here, I have seen people grilling on their front porches, even without it being windy or raining, just the sun shining, and on the cool side, temperature wise.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages fresh and ready to go.  Larry and Tom, there's plenty of hot water for your hot tea.  On the serving station this morning:  fresh, hot cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls, straight out of the oven.

Last night, Walt, Sarah and I watched the new DVD The Lovely Bones.  Walt and I read the book a couple of years ago.  Amazingly, the movie did not stray too far off the book.  If any of you can see the movie, I totally recommend it.  It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Everyone have a good day, and try to stay dry.  We still have a chance of rain/thunder showers for this afternoon.  But right now, we have a temp around 61, 62degrees, and the sun is shining.

.....Terrible night for tornados southwest of us headin east...{Mississippi}, with loss of life.  That was a long line of serious weather moving northeast.  It is passed even here now.

I did not hear any of it during the night, but whatever it was as it got here was to pass early in the morning.  Just a few small leaves down in the yard and my rain gauge has .45" of rain.  So I believe we were spared most of the rough stuff.  I note it is on out east of us now, part of it heading for my home State of Penna.  Just a bit of the wrap around will be in our area and that is nothing but rain.

But right now it's partly sunny and in the low 60's for temp.  So we got off very well from all the potential danger in this massive system.

Something like 10  fatilities {including 3 children}, perished in Mississippi.

Woke up about 7 and crawled back into bed.  Now that brunch is done, I can get to a few tasks before head back to the PBS station for the last night of the auction.

Sunny skies here, but cool.  We might make it into the mid sixties by the looks of it.

This has been an odd tornado season so far.  Could be interesting, and not in the good sense of the term.

A little damp out here in Hebron, IN, this morning, off and on rain here all day.  Kind of an off day here, have an 0300 appointment at Chicago Beverage tomorrow morning, so resting up before an all-nighter.  Not much else new here, just surfing the Internet, and passing the time.

Thanks for breakfast, off to a corner booth to surf the 'net.....

It's actually been a very quiet tornado season so far. Even with yesterday's outbreak, the total for the season to this point is way below normal. That really doesn't say much about the rest of the season though. May and June could also be quiet, or they could be active.

Good afternoon. 74 and overcast in Carolina. We have had .64 inch of rain so far today, and the boffins are calling for thunderstorms tonight and early tomorrow. We still can use the rain to put an end to the pollen problem. It is noticeably better already, but more rain would help immensely. For now, take it easy and be careful.

Afternoon, everyone.  It's raining a little bit here right now, and the wind has died down some.

I've fixed some sloppy joes for this afternoon and tonight, and you can have with them:  garden salad, your choice of fries or Bob Evans home fries, and I've also fixed a fruit salad, consisting of apples, oranges, pineapple chunks, walnut pieces, banana slices.

For dessert, we have:  yellow cake w/chocolate icing, home made chocolate pie, homemade apple pie, and peach cobbler.  There's also plenty of ice cream (various flavors) that you can have.

Everyone have a good afternoon/evening, and guess I'll see if facebook is coorperating this afternoon.

Evening all.....

Just got a message that I-40 through the gorge in North Carolina has been reopened, though one westbound lane will be closed all summer while crews finish bolting the mountainside back together.  Good news, because I-26 was killing me every time I went over it.....

Will take dinner, then fuel, then off to Chicago for fun and games......

We dodged a bullet about an hour ago. A tornado passed north of us, about 15 miles or so, and did a right smart of damage, along with 3 injured. Early reports say one home destroyed, a number of mobile homes upended, and an Elementary school in Darlington lost it's roof. Also in Darlington, a Walgreens was hit with unknown damage and most of the power in the south of Darlington is out. Marlboro county has sent 6 deputies in mutual aid, and here, Florence County SD is on standby. After Darlington, the funnel was seen paralelling I-95 and now, the storm is in NC. If any more news comes in tonight, I will post it here.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Here in Louisville, we're starting out with a temp in the low 50s, and some light drizzle.  Only about a 30 percent of any more rain today, so maybe(?) things will be looking up for this Derby Week here.  Churchill opened the Spring Meet Saturday.

Tom, I was wondering if Darlington was close to you all, when I heard about the tornado last night on the news.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go this moning.

On the serving station this morning:  some more fresh fruit, an assortment from apples and oranges to kiwi, papaya, bananas, pineapple, strawberries.  There's also bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast.

Mookie, here's your coffee mug!  Mookie, I've got time this morning to sit in the rocker and enjoy the trains going by:  care to join me?

Everyone have a good morning, and take care.

Good morning from Carolina. 68 degrees currently, topping out around 84 and another thunderstorm this afternoon. Hopefully, it won't be the type we had last night.

Darlington is about 10 miles NNW of Florence, and about 15 miles from me. The racetrack was not damaged, Jim. It is on the other side of town from where the damage occurred. The tornado began 8 miles south of Hartsville, and passed through the south of Darlington. A friend's granddaughter says she saw it hit the Walgreen's, but the news has not said anything about it. All Darlington Schools are closed today until they can find a place for the Cain Elementary students, displaced when the roof blew off last night.  Otherwise, 3 casualties who are currently in the hospital, 17000 without power and a lot of cleanup to be done. It could have been a whole lot worse.

Everybody take care

Tom

Good morning from AZ where it will be iin the high 70's at Prescott today. Spent the weekend at the La Posada in Winslow to attend a mini-meet of the Santa Fe Railway Historical and Modeling Society. Great food, lots of trains and many stories (some true) as fifty asscoiates gathered.

BNSF seemed to have lots of trains on Saturday and Amtrak #3 and #4 both stop there. Several attendees rode them to attend.
