Good news, everyone!! Today was my last visit to Physical Therapy. But, I still have to do the exercises here at home. I was told that if I had any problems, I could call them anytime, and come back, and I have an open invitation to drop by and say "Hi" whenever I want.
Our regularly scheduled Friday Fish Fry is now on the serving station, ready for you all to fix your plates.
All the regular list of fish and all the regular side dishes are available. Also, the regular dessert menu of pies, cake and cobblers.
As soon as Walt and Sarah get back from bike riding, we're going out to eat. There's a little place, not far from the house, that has really good fish, and also a pool table. I think we're going there. If not, it'll be to our local Jerry's Restaurant. (Spokeybob knows which one I'm talking about!). Then, we're coming back home and watch the movie "Avitar".
Everyone have a good evening, Brian, hope everything turned out all right, weather wise, and you all are no longer have any tornado watches/warnings!
Evening all.
A really blustery day here in western Indiana. We went mushroom hunting last night, and found 7 yellow sponges. It is getting to be too late for them now. It has just been one of those dry years.
Looks like the cat and the Chicken are bickering again!
Have a good evening all.
Justin

Wow - western Illinois is really under the gun as I write this - tornado watchs all up and down the Mississippi. Looks like we'll get some of that on Sunday.
Spent the afternoon trying to deter some HS kids from partying to hard come Prom Night by instilling a little fear into them. Helped a neighboring FD stage a mock motor vehicle accident. Three kids "died," the driver that caused it all was "arrested" for DWI, and several others were transported to hospitals, with one ambulance supposedly meeting up with a medevac helicopter enroute to the nearest trauma center.
Several FD's and ambulance agencies were involved. I provided the PA and acted as the dispatcher, with all radio traffic routed through the PA so the kids could hear it.
All in all, we think it went pretty well. We'll find out the true result prom night.
The railroad is buying us lunch tomorrow, so I'll be on the road in the morning for the "Buffalo Head Restaurant." They're running a train up from Utica for those who'd prefer riding to driving, but that would involve an extra half hour of driving, so I'll pass...

MookieHave mixed feelings this morning (other than a certain wad of feathers). In the past few years, we have had a drag strip in front of our house involving motorcycles. They start at zero and go well past the red line before slowing down. About 2 years ago, 1 bit the dust. Then about a year ago another one ditto. All in this part of town. Now a 3rd one - doing 70 went over some railroad tracks (the Kyle Line if said chicken is around) just south of here, lost control, hit a curb and threw him into a pole. He was wearing a helmet, which did nothing for the rest of him.
Would you say that these people had a high level of self esteem? It is sad that anyone would risk his life in such a way.
One morning, many years ago, when I was having to be at a certain place by a certain time, as I approached a tee intersection, I saw what looked like someone on a motorcycle who had hit a pole that was on the far side of the horizontal part of the tee. There was an emergency vehicle there, so I did not stop to investigate. Had he hit the pole deliberately? Had something distracted his attention (this was long before the use of cellphones) so he did not realize he was approaching the intersection and was required to stop?
More snow in the valley last night--two nights in a row with snow on the grass in the morning.
// and all this time I thought it was only knickers that got in a bunch....geez!
Is that the same broomstick that is attached to a certain net?
(May need that broomstick with broom attached .... Nigel has declared war on the new roomba (don't ask about the old one with the teef marks in it)
Boy the indignity a body has to suffer!
Anyway - about 55 here this morning. Not too bad. Had very nice rain overnite. Little light and little noise. Just what we normally have living on a busy street. Just south of us, Jefferson county had a tornado. Little damage.

Mixed feelings - well it is a whole lot quieter on our street.
Moo....
We had 61 degrees early this morning. That should tell us it will get pretty warm by this afternoon. We will have a sunny day and some wind.
For us, another mowing day and several errands we must do.
Trivia: Was in the area of our Industrial Park here near Muncie last evening and {I noted this need before}, saw surveyor stakes outlining the route the new NS RR spur will be following to connect the Park with a near by {Frankton Line}, line. This spur is needed to service the new business, Brevini plant that will be building gear sets for wind powered generators for power production. The are heavy: 48,000 lbs., hence the needed RR spur for shipment. Of course the spur can then service all of the Industrial Park businesses....and perhaps stir more developement there.
There has been a problem getting the ROW land from land owners.....The sellers would not agree to price.....And, they protested of dividing up their farm fields, etc....with the track. i don't know if it is settled yet or not, but for sure, the surveyor stakes are certainly in place now. This is just several miles from our home here, so hopefully I can watch the development.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Mookie: Go get um!! I am still laughing! Maybe I should continue laughing through my exercises this morning. Ride should be here about 9 to pick me up.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Our regular Friday morning doughnuts, danish, muffins, bagels and bear claws are here, and on the counter.
We currently have a temp of 65 degrees, and should see 84, 85 for a high today. The rain is due to start somewhere around 4:00 , 5:00 in the morning, and rain most of the day, with maybe a couple of breaks in between. The last I heard, when it's all said and done tomorrow night, we may have accumulated around 5 inches of rain.
There is tuna salad made up for sandwiches for lunch. Everyone enjoy your morning, have a good day, and I'll see you all after PT.
Great thunderstorm this evening in Omaha. The same storm produced at least one tornado just after crossing into Iowa. Just in case Mookie was headed in that direction, I hope it didn't blow her broomstick off course! I'm sorry, Mookie! Mudchicken started it, you know.

Ahem: Lady Mookster has a whole lot of noise (this time it isn't the house across the driveway), only a sneeze of moisture and looks like all this is heading straight for Chi Town and maybe the good city of Brian of Iowa.
It looks to be possibly missing Willy, 2.....

Oh my goodness! Such an uproar over the weather! And you better be careful, Sir Muddy Feathers, or Mookie will fly on her broomstick to pay you a visit too!
mudchicken Lady Mookster's bloomers are about to get frosted which will drive her to fly her broomstick right over to fair Omaha to skewer your armour yellow toucas....Be fairwarned!, her internal weather device hath alerted her.

Evening, everyone! Looks like we've had a very slow day in here. Like Walt and myself, guess everyone's out enjoying the weather? Except, maybe Mookie: guess she's bundled under covers, keeping herself warm!
For supper tonight, here's the 'menu':
Sloppy joes w/fries and salad, or you can have burgers/cheeseburgers, fries and salad.
We got up to the mid 70s today, with breezy conditions. Bet in downtown Louisville, they're having a hard time keeping the balloons in the parade up in the air, and not crashing down onto wires and the crowd of people lined up watching the parade.
Tomorrow, we're supposed to get up to about 84, and then the rain and possible storms coming in Saturday morning. They say be noon, we'll have at least an inch of rain, and by the time they have the Run for the Roses, at least 2 to 4 inches? Hope some of those horses entered are Mudders!
afternoon

Just noticed my barometer needle fell off the charts. Went from about 30.1 to now 29.1 Still not sure if we will get any rain out of this, but every one of my joints tells me.....I should have another cup of coffee....
Don't have enough ambition to have any news, so....I will assume the position - ^~^
Good Thursday morning, everyone. Larry, hope you are completely rested this morning, from your time with grandson.
I seem to be a bit on the sleepy side this morning. Had the alarm set for 5 a.m., woke up at 3:15 a.m. But did manage to fall back to sleep, until the alarm went off.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go, along with hot water for our hot tea drinkers.
On the serving station this morning: turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, hash brown taters, made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy. And yes, there's also some bagels and bear claws.
Everyone have a good morning, and Mookie, here's your coffee mug. I'll meet your over at the rockers!!
Nice sunny day today. Cool, windy, but sunny.
Paid a visit to daughter today to do a test fitting for the child gate I'm making for her. After lunch with her and grandson, we sat and played with grandson for a bit. He found mom's cell phone (not quite a year old and already knows how it works, more or less - dad gets calls). Papa showed grandson that his phone plays music. After some entertaining "dancing" it was nap time and Papa had to head for home. I do fear, however, that I may have created a monster.
On the plus side, the grandson does appear to like classic rock....
I'm beat. Time for bed.
Evening all.....
I'm convinced the boys over at Weatherliar U are sadists, what with the interesting weather the country has had the last few days, if it's not storming, it's cold, or there are 60mph winds (heard I-40 near Winslow was closed today due to blowing dust). I'm also convinced that one of these days my truck is going to disintegrate like in the Blues Brothers movie, went to use my diesel fired heater last night, and it tried to burn the truck down (luckily, safety system in heater prevented that from happening). Would give a whole new meaning to the phrase 'light a fire under that guy's butt', though....
Oh well, just one of those days, will have dinner, then to bed......

I got back home from tomorrow morning's walk a few minutes ago (nasty weather–rain/snow with early April temperature is expected tomorrow morning). Today's high (at 12:01 a.m.) was 58o; at 7:00 the temperature was 50o, and it was 38o at 8:30, with rain and some snow. It was a little better this afternoon–no rain and a little warmer. We expect our late April cold snap to continue through the weekend.
