I haven't seen any robins yet, but the hyacynths we set out by the front door some thirty years ago  (and have not tended since) are blooming--two weeks early (they usually bloom about Easter). We had a light snow here last night.

Sir C - I think you are tempting fate...da Boyz are catching on that you take them in and one of the "ends" gets worked on!

Put all that nice water into the little streams that you have and send it this way.  We will need it for spring planting.  And we can tantalize Kansas with it!

Yep, springtime in the rockies....70 degrees followed by eight inches of snow followed by 65 degrees followed by 14 inches (predicted)...followed by warm and more snow (it only took a day to melt eight inches).....Think I'm gonna spread light fertilizer during the next melt.

We might see some green by May.

You're very wlecome, Mookie.

We had 50 people show up today for the Produce.  On the truck today:  Romaine lettuce, greens, onions, potatoes, yellow squahs and  (yuck) asparagas.

Since no one gave any suggestions or alternatives, I've started our Mexican Fiesta:

1.  Burritos (beef, beef and bean, beef enchilada style)

2.  Tacos (soft shell and hard shell)

3.  Refired beans

4.  Chimichangas

5.  Fajitas

6.  Mesquite-grilled beef or Tilapia

Everyone enjoy, have a great afternoon, and take care.

Tree - from the looks of your set up, maybe there is still hope for me to get to play with the "tonka toys"?  Approve  Or maybe not.  Didn't see my Buick, either.  But best to play with these than the real things.

CW - thanks for coffee.  Sun is out and while chilly, still good to see something warm for a change.  Sounds like Sir Mud will have something to contend with today.  Wet and white and lots all over.

Good morning, and thanks for breakfast. At present, 38 and sunny in Carolina, headed for the mid 60s so they say. The girls left me alone last night, and I have to wake THEM up for a change. Time to get them up and out to the yard, and not wake up the wife in the process.... Strange that they know when something is outside or if the neighbors dog is around. They raise the roof till we let them out and then straight to the fence. All the while, we haven't heard a thing! Everyone take care

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  It looks like a pretty good day shaping up around the Louisville area. We have a temp this morning of 42, 43 degrees, going for a high in the mid 60s.  The sun is supposed to be back out today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Mookie, here's your mug!

On the serving station this morning:  turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns or tater tots, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits hot out of the oven w/sausage gravy.

Thinking ahead to lunch/supper menu today, do we have our Mexican Fiesta, or would you all like something different?  Please let me know, all right?  I'll be back in later, after I get through with Tuesday Produce.

You all keep safe and take care.

Worse, it's going to be involved in a "collision" with a school bus....  Pity the poor soul who gets to be 'incident commander' on that scenario.  I just get to help run the scenarios.  I might end up as the police/fire/EMS dispatcher.

As background, we'll be working on an HO scale simulator which includes "city," "suburb," and "rural" areas, as well as an airport and an Interstate.  There are several set scenarios, and the lead instructor for this one has created several others.

A class runs a scenario:

The new crash/rescue station at the airport:

Somebody missed a stop sign:

The K9 officer (with his trusty police dog) talks with another officer about where he got the donut he's holding...

I did a comprehensive rehab of the simulator a couple of years ago - refinishing and decalling most of the emergency vehicles (around 100), as well as some others, building a new hospital, complete with helipad as well as the airport CFR station, installing fire hydrants color coded for flow (I used O scale hydrants so you could see them) and refreshing the foliage and ground cover.  There were also railroad tracks in place, so with the help of the local HO club (I model N scale), they now have a number of cars and a locomotive as well.

It came out quite well, if I do say so myself...

Well, looks like no one has given me any meal suggestions.  So, here's what I've come up with:

1.  Leftover meat loaf w/all the fixin's from yesterday

2.  Chicken stir fry, with all the Chinese veggies, won ton soup, egg rolls, beef & broccoli

Speaking of the cars, I truly wish I still had my 1973 Plymouth Duster.  Even though it was a 2-door, that was a good mid size car.  (And I could see over the dash in it, too!)  In Sarah's Jeep, I can just barely see over the dash, and can't see anything in front of us.    Unless they're about two car lengths in front of us.

Had a little bit of light rain this morning.  So far, nothing this afternoon, yet.  Everyone enjoy the rest of the afternoon, keep safe and take care.

I did not see any difference that the sun's coming north of the equator made in the weather. I can open the living room curtains earlier and not have sunlight shine in Ricki's eyes as she eats breakfast.

My bracket is not busted. I'm moving up on the leader. Her bracket shows just one win ahead of mine. Last year's winner IS busted. A brother in law flew out to Spokane from VA to watch his Terps. He is not taking calls today. LOL

Have a good one everyone.

Only 3 big 10 teams remain in march madness.

Including Michigan State!

Syracuse is still kicking **** and taking names.  Go Orange!

It doesn't get tough rooting for teams until it's two teams you like....

Cloudy and windy here today - good day for working indoors, which I should be doing instead of playing on the computer....

My girls got me up, allowing that they had to go outside

Boy, tom...."allowing that they had to go outside"......Rain here this morning, and that is our problem....Our new young pup will not go in the rain....Just could not make it happen yet this morning......For the last 3 hrs.

Temp in the 40's now....and overcast with light rain, with brief interludes from it.....Tomorrow starts several days of sunshine again....Two things....we'll be able to get this pup out in the grass to do her business.....and....3 days of sunshine, yard mowing will be in order.

Good Monday morning, everyone.   Hope you all had a good weekend.  We have a current temp of 43 degrees, and our high today will only be 45 degrees.  Off and on rain showers with a possibility of seeing a little bit of sunshine.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  oatmeal (maple & brown sugar, rasin & spice, & regular), toast, bacon, eggs.

Everyone have a good morning, and if anyone has any requests for lunch/supper, just let me know.

My my Misries Mooks, you are up early. My girls got me up, allowing that they had to go outside, and then hollered at the neighbors. 57 and rain in Carolina. That thunderstorm never did materialize, which is OK by me, but it has rained off and on. I managed to trip over one of the wife's booby traps in the dark night before last, and hit down on my left knee. No real damage apparently, but am plenty sore. I think a dumpster is in order for this place.

That's about it for now. Everyone take care.

And we be rollin'......

Only took a 2.5 hour hit with the brake chamber, still got to where I wanted to get to, jut a few hours later.  When the mechanic pulled the old one out, judging from the corrosion and paint on it, was probably the original to the tractor (assembled in May 2005, I checked).  I know the other parking brake chamber was changed about 6 months ago, so truck should be good for another 685,000 miles.

CW, it's not that I did not have a parking brake, but that I had it when I did not want it, this is usually how brake fires start, also.  Main concern was getting it to a safe place before I ran too low on air, and could not move.

Well, thanks for dinner, now off to bed.....

Willy - we found 2 NS engines in our yard just after noon - running around the wye.  Left their load somewhere in the yard.  Maybe they will head back east.  Saw CSX yesterday, but not today.  They were doing a lot of hostling and not much else.

Was nice to nap in the sun....with the pigeons overhead cooing.

Hi all.....

Busy last two weeks, have been running a groove in the West Virginia Turnpike between Trenton, OH and Eden, NC, running interplants for MillerCoors.  Very little wi-fi out there, only at two truckstops in Hurricane and Nitro, both in West Virginia, and I usually don't stop there.

In Sonora, OH, waiting on a service truck, blew out the parking brake chamber on the tractor, and waiting for a replacement.  Should be rolling again in a few hours.

See everyone later for dinner....

Mookie - Not sure if you'll see this in time to head for the tracks, but BNSF has got some good stuff headed for Lincoln. One westbound coal train with pure Norfolk Southern power on the point and another westbound coal train with a CSX Gevo on the point. Just randomly decided to wait for trains this morning, and got pretty darn lucky!

Good Morning All:

Beautifully sunny but chilly here in Alamo City.  The temp is currently 43.

A Lot of snow in North Texas and Oklahoma northward.  Sure glad I'm south of that.

Enjoy your Sunday!

......Our morning is sunshine thru a thin layer of light overcast.  Temp., upper 30's and it will move up.

Our mission, getting our little pup acclimated to her new home...Not easy.

A miniture doxey, 11 mo. of age.   But we've been thru it before but not for 16 years hence.  Before that, it  was min. wiener dogs for a total of 32 years.  Dear family membors, but boy, they are sneaky  with a mind of their own....but lovable.  One of them even stayed in a Disney World {doggie hotel}, while we stayed there, and we had to sign a "menu" what they were to feed her.  That was some years ago.
