Ole man winter has made his presants known in no short terms. Many small towns are threatned by moving water here in the mtns. Our I-17 is closed in a few places to FLG  because of snow or rocks the size of a small car. Verde hill is a 6% grade for 3mi. ( cheap thrill time ingood weather) . Here on our ridgeline we have 8in. in 2days.Every thing here is still in one piece. High winds did their work on some places here.A train was derailed   around Dateland AZ. , both tracks E&W are blocked. More rain coming down now .  ~~~ CW , glad to hear bout the furnace.   Well all you folks at the Diner have any kind of day you want.

                                 Respectfully, Cannonball

Three aces on my weather station right now:  11.1F.  Weatherguessers got the sunny part, but they forgot the "and warm..."

Time for tea and a trip to town for an assortment of items.

Good Friday morning, welcome and all aboard the FlatWheel Cafe/Diner!  Mookie, want to come for a visit?  I think we have room for another kitty around here.

Coffee, juices, hot beverages are all ready and waiting, on the serving station.  Also, you will find a sampling of just about every flavor doughnut, danish and muffin on the serving station as well this morning.  (There's also Larry's bear claws, and bagels, so there's a wide variety and selection for everyone this morning.)

We're starting out here in Louisville with a temp of 42 degrees, and no rain, at least in our area.  But there is some patchy dense fog to contend with this morning.   Supposed to get up to about 47 degrees.

Everyone have  a good morning, enjoy your morning, breakfast and take care.

Murray - heard they had a tornado in Texas.....and all that heading for the eastern seaboard......

Let's see - rain, mud and traveling houses in California.  Snow in AZ.  Snow heading for Colo.  100% humidity and 32 in the true midwest.  And it is only January....Sigh

And what is this? You give me no credit for any of this wonderful weather? My feelings, they have been hurt!

If you don't hurry up and get rid of this cloudy, sneezy, cold weather and bring us a little sunshine and warmth, I am going to put a big hurt on you and the Driver is going to applaud!

Indeed. They haven't failed me yet, but when the cat is miffed, you never know what will happen!

I think I can get you some sun on Tuesday Mookie, but you have to make it through the weekend first. No warmer temperatures though. Colder in fact.

Larry and Brian, I bet you two would have the opposite problem, it not being long enough?

I haven't tried one, so I don't know.

Besides, I have a Dalmatian who is perfectly willing to provide warmth.  Sometimes too willing...

Dan, thanks for the furnace filter.  We're going to have to get a case of them, so we have them on hand.  With the pets, we figure we'll probably need to change/clean ours once a month.

We're still getting light rain, and have a temp of 43 degrees here at 12:19 p.m.  Glad I went out yesterday afternoon, to the grocery.  I'm not going out today.  Just gonna stay here at home, and count my many blessings.

On the serving station, you all will find:

1.  leftover spaghetti casserole w/Italian bread and garden salad

2.  tuna melt hoagies w/your choice of fries, curly fries or chips and garden salad

3.  burgers, cheese burgers, brats w/your choice of fries, curly fries or chips, along with garden salad or cole slaw.

Mudchicken, a snuggie is a fleece 'robe/blanket' that you put over yourself, and wrap the back around.  Then, you can curl up on your sofa, in your chair and stay toasty warm.  (Although, the one I got for Christmas, didn't quite keep me warm enough.)  I probably need to find one of them in the kids' size, so it won't be dragging the floor, and/or tripping me.  Larry and Brian, I bet you two would have the opposite problem, it not being long enough?

Everyone have a very good afternoon, keep safe, stay warm and take care.  See you all after awhile.

Is a "snuggie" when your scottie tries to cram his muzzle up the sleeve of your bathrobe or jacket until it will go no further?Clown

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Nice and pleasant here in the house this morning!  So what, if it's a little bit foggy outside, and getting drizzling rain.  We're comfy, dry and warm.  It was nice being able to go to sleep, without having the covers pulled up over your head, just to keep warm, and having to sleep in socks because your feet are too cold.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for tea are ready to go.  And on the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage patties and links (all pork, by the way, on the sausages), hash brown taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

Mookie, how about we pull our rockers over to the picture window, and watch the trains going by this morning?  We haven't done that in ages.  And we can plan who we're going to pick on around here.EvilWink

Enjoy your breakfast and your morning, be safe and take care.

Its nice down here in Texas.... Wink

My neighbor called. 86 degrees in Texas says she. She asked me if her house was OK. I told her a big tree fell on it. She says I have a mean streak in me.

EDIT: I see this was post #1500

We got sneezed on throughout the day.  We continue to hover around 33 with humidity that is 20% higher than Houston!  What a bite!

Can't even go to sunny southern California - they are at high tide and moving around!  Blah!

Precip is holding off here, although I've heard indications on the scanner that other areas have gotten some snow.  Cleaned an inch off the driveway this morning, but it's stayed clear ever since.

I've been through a major ice storm.  You can have it.  Two inches of ice on everything and no power for a week...

Son called to advise that a couple firefighters from his department fell through the floor at a fire in MD.  No serious injuries, but certainly a scare for all involved.  He wasn't there.

Time to look for another project!  (Plenty to choose from...)

Good evening. It was raining here when I rolled out of bed at approximately 5:00 this morning, I looked out my front door and my door was covered with a layer of ice. I was going to make the trek on foot up to Lewis Drug to pick up my photo order this afternoon, but knowing that I would be walking on a layer of ice, I decided to stay put and not go anywhere this morning.

Currently, we have 21 degrees F. here in Sioux Falls and some light drizzle coming down.

CW, and Mutt, congratulations in the installation of your new furnace!

Hello All: We are in the middle of an ice storm today. I had an errand this morning. Their driveway is on a slant. I put my truck in park and as I was getting out, the truck started sliding back to the street with the rear wheels still locked. Now that is slick. So far the power outages are spotty. I lost power for only 15 minutes.

Things were a little warm in town yesterday.A spark from a battery charger on an ambulance caused a fire at the firehouse.

Just saw video of that as linked from a fire service site.  Lucky they're a staffed department, or they would have been in the same boat as a department in Greene County, NY that pretty much lost everything.

Time to tiptoe over and check out the lunch menu...

Good afternoon, and guess what, everybody:  our house is getting warm!! The guys finished up and left about a half hour ago.

I've got lunch on the serving station:  beef stew w/fresh-from-the-oven cornbread, and there's garden salad to go with the stew.

Desserts:  chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, pineapple upside down cake, and apple, blueberry, and cherry pies.

Tom, sorry to hear about your furnace.  My, that is a loooonnng time for a furnace to keep running, isn't it?  (Since this new furnace of ours  is the only one I've ever had, I'm not too familiar about the lifespan on them.)

Everyone have a good afternoon, stay warm, stay dry (if you're like us, and getting rain), and take care and keep safe.

Goom mornin and thanks for the donuts. 40 degrees and clear in Carolina this lovely day, expecting a high in the sixties and a thunderstorm tomorrow. Larry, congratulations on your retirement.I hope you enjoy all your projects. Paula, it looks like we need to ante up for a new furnace. The old one turns 50 this year, so I guess its about time. Everybody take care.
