Nice!  New Year, New Location.

I'll have my bearclaw and tea over in that shiny new corner booth.

Morning the two of you. I’ll have a glazed donut for breakfast, with some milk.

Dad and me are off today. I will see if I can convince him to take me rail fanning with my new camera. I hope we can. We might go bowling tonight. I don’t know.

Have a good day, and a safe New Year!

Our new 'home' for the next month looks great.  It looks like we're ending the old year and starting the new year with a completely different scheme.  Looks nice.  But, is the CD player and juke box still packed up, or do we need to go back to the old place and retrieve it?  And what about you layouts guys?  Where are they?  At least the kitchen is in good shape, and I'm finding everything that's supposed to be in here, even the new big oven that Dan got us, for all the baking we do in here.  The new fridges and freezers look good, too!  Be back in later to post the lunch menu.

Hot soup!  Lots of hot soup.  Really stinks when you have to do dishes to get your finners warmed up.

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to Houston Ed.  What a rip to have your birthday on a holiday.  That's why I moved mine to June!  Thumbs Up  Hopefully my finners will be warmed up by then.

I tried typing this using Internet Explorer as the browser, but it wouldn't recognize me, it posted my words under CW's login, even though I was logged in under me?

It's ok - you are married - to each other!

I did dishes and did warm up my hands.  The Driver is perfectly comfortable and the house sez 71.  It is me.  Had hot soup for supper and a little warmer.  I think I have "holiday-itis".  Will be followed by January-itis....Sigh

Speaking of jukeboxes, when I was high school I was once asked to work on one that was having trouble handling the records. I think its primary problem came from the grease floating around in the air in the cafe and settling on various surfaces. I somehow got it to work to the satisfaction of the owner.

Is this one of those that you dropped a nickel in so you can hear music, music, music? ("Put another nickel in, in the nickelodeon; all I want to hear is music, music, music.")

Hi Mookie!  Haven't seen you in here for awhile!  You have been missed, BIG TIME!!

I never did email Ed, to ask what he wanted for his birthday supper, so I'm taking a wild guess, and have made it a Tex-Mex night here in the Flat Wheel Cafe/Diner:  there's plenty of tacos, burritos (all the usual kinds), chimichangas, fajitas, etc., with Spanish rice, chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes, salsa, picante sauce, con queso, and tortilla chips.  Hope that's o.k. with you, Ed!!

I want to wish each and everyone of you here in the Cafe/Diner a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  And I want everyone to be safe tonight, don't take any chances, if you're going out to celebrate the New Year.  Don't want to lose any of you, want to keep you around here for a long, long time to come.

Ditto for the HO scale layout...but I'm having some issues with the DCC...so I'll be under the layout playing with electricity...

Also wishing a Happy Birthday to Ed and a Great New Year to everyone else!

CW-Did you get the new "toy" I sent for here or no?  Can't seem to find it yet...

Thanks Paula,

Tex Mex hit the spot.

Went to the movies after..saw Sherlock Holmes.

Not sure that those who have not read the books would follow the plot and catch all the interaction between the characters, but if you have read them, then the movie was interesting, if not, you might want to skip this one.

Hope everyone gets home safely tonight, if you did not go out, then so much the better.

Stay Frosty,

Ed

And, what new "toy" are you talking about?

Well I remember how much you liked the multi-unit oven from a while back...so I did some haggling and got you a new serving bar complete with 3 rotisserie units, 4 warming pots for soups/stews, up to 8 hot stations (good for keeping the different items warm while waiting for guests), up to 8 cold stations (good for salads, cold cuts, fruit/veggies/etc, and a nice bakery display rack (great for Bearclaws!).  No beverage service you say?  The removable center has hot and cold beverage dispensers (3 each) so those should stay topped off for a while.  Best part?  Double-steam dishwasher unit to help keep things clean!

A (late) Merry Christmas for ya!

Good Friday morning, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!  Ed, glad you liked your birthday supper!

And Dan, you are THE MAN!  Thank you and bless you for the new warmer/cooler bar!!  You know that will get a good workout around here!

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot water for hot tea are all ready to go.  And on this brand new warmer/cooler bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, blueberry muffins, pancakes, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausages, and sausage gravy.

I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year's Eve, and if you were out and about, you made it home safely!  Guess some of you will probably sleep until mid morning, so will keep everything refreshed and replenished, as needed.

You're welcome CW.  I know it'll get a good workout, the wheels on the bottoms should help in moving them all though.

Mookie

uh - Dan - ???  I fertilized your crops - can you redo my kitchen?

Smile,Wink, & Grin I'll see what I can do...lol.

11 above but not too much wind which is keeping the chill factor minimized today.  Big day at work coming up...(Open House 10:30-3:30)...we should be swamped with folks wanting to join the Y.  Last night Aedan (6 mos now!) left a present for 2009 at around 11:55 which I thought fitting for that year.  Here's hoping 2010 will be better for everyone!

Afternoon, all.  Dan, that new serving station is working out just Dandy!!  (No pun intended. )

I've been cooking up a storm in the kitchen all morning.  On the serving station, you'll find:  turkey, dressing, green beans, broccoli w/cheese sauce, corn, mashed taters w/gravy, macaroni & cheese, macaroni salad, cole slaw, corned beef & cabbage, black eyed peas, and cornbread.  And what is left from our Tex Mex supper last night.

Desserts:  yellow cake w/chocolate icing, chocolate chip cookies, and there's also boiled custard and egg nog (without the liquor in it).

Imagine most of you guys are watching the bowl games, so you can just grab what you want from the serving station during commercial breaks.  Everyone have a good afternoon, keep warm and take care.  Going to see what I can see on Facebook.

(and no, I don't want to listen to Mookie doin' her karaoke turn!)

Be careful and safe.
