Well, you all, Mutt and I have fired up the charcoal grill, and on the warmer bar you'll find: steaks, burgers, hot dogs, brats, grilled corn on the cob, chicken, and grilled "baked' taters.
Side dishes include: cole slaw, potato salad, mustard greens, baked beans, green beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower. And if any of that doesn't appeal to you, there's several varieties of tater chips, tortilla chips & dips.
Desserts include leftover birthday cakes (since I had two ready yesterday for Ray's birthday), cobblers, and apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry pies.
You all enjoy and have a great afternoon.

Somehow, I did not check your cake menu yesterday, and did not see that you had pineapple upside down cake. Is any of it left over? I remember one time that we had it in college, and our waitress brought me so much I could not eat it all--and broke the rule that students were NOT to take food from the dining hall (if you were sick, the house "doctor" was allowed to take food to you) and took a large bowl of it to my room so I could finish it later. Somehow, I managed to get the empty bowl back without being detected. It looks like good eating for today.
Larry, the two dogs we sit also wait until we are eating before they eat. As you, I try to re-read what I have written before it is made public--and even then I can miss errors in spelling and in sentence construction.

Had a better day at school today. But, there is a scare going on. There have supposedly been 2 confirmed cases of H1N1 with our staff. Not good news.
Looking forward to supper! CW!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop in and say hi! Doesn't seem like I've been gone all that long but I see the diner has a new name since I've been here last. How time flies! Glad to see many of the same names and avatars are still here!
Cherokee Woman-If there is still a piece of strawberry pie I'd love some with a little whipped cream! Sounds delicious.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Welcome back, techguy57! I love it when old friends come back in! I hope you'll be able to come visit more often.
Joe, thanks for getting breakfast together this morning. I've been up since just after 5, but waited to come in this morning, due to taking care of some things around the house. And why is the strawberry pie on hold? I know it's as good as always, all ingredients fresh as can be. And there's plenty more on hand, of all the cakes, pies and cobblers.
Johnny, I'm glad you liked the pineapple upside down cake. Of course, the best ones you can make, are baked in an iron skillet! One of these days, I'd like to find myself an iron skillet with the pineapple impressions on it.
I'm not sure what our current temp is this morning, just know that our high today is to be 80 degrees, and we've got a little bit of rain heading our way from the south/southwest. So far, it's to the south of our area, and we're only to have it this morning, according to the weather guessers.
Everyone have a great morning, and I'll see you all in a bit.
Good morning! I am at my sister's house in Gillette, Wyoming. I have come out here for a family reunion which will take place at Lake Sylvan in Custer State Park this weekend. I have a lot of cousins from Colorado and other family members that I have not seen in a LONG time, so I am looking forward to catching up with them tomorrow morning.
The weather out here has been nice so far. I saw a DM&E grain train parked in a siding in Rapid City, South Dakota late yesterday afternoon, but was unable to reach for my camera in time to get any good shots of it.
I hope the rest of you out there are all having a very good day!
Good afternoon, everyone. I am a bit late getting in here. Didn't feel particulary good this morning, and just getting up a head of steam. Currently 76 and off/on again rain with a chance of thunder later and tonight. High is called for 84. Sure beats 104.... Take care

Well, I survived another week of college. TGIF.
Last night, some drunks lost control of their car in West Omaha and it ended up on the Union Pacific train tracks. They managed to get out just before a train hit the car.
Well, I better get ready for work. Roast beef is calling.
Willy
Willy - I would moo for you, but I am too tired. Must somehow struggle off to bed. TGIF for sure.

Another September day here on the Wasatch Front. We started the day at about 60 degrees, and we got into the eighties before the day was done. Beauatiful weather, with some clouds in the sky.
We saw one northbound freight on our way up to South Ogden today--one unit on the front (we did not see the rear), and as we left South Ogden, we saw the rear (no power on the rear) of an eastbound freight on the track Ricki and I slept on thirty-seven years ago as we made our way from Ogden to Salt Lake City by way of San Francisco and Denver. We also saw a backwards running Front Runner as it went back to Salt Lake City. Some day, we may ride up to Ogden and back, just to ride it.
Good Evening all!
Just dropping in for the firs time in a while. Been so busy with work an wedding plans and all, Just a week left! Weather here has been pretty good the past few days. Sunny and in the 80s. We have lucked out and the wind has kept itself down for a while.... Hopefully this holds until the wedding is over!
Spent about 3 hours today trackside and noticed that every train that passed had at least 1 SD90/43 on it. I thought UP was phasing those out!

Good Saturday morning, everyone. RJ, are you getting the jitters yet? Hope everything goes well all week, so your wedding will go as you and the future Mrs RJ have planned.
We're starting off today with temps in the mid 60s, going for a high of upper 70s to 80 degrees today, with rain coming in later this afternoon/tonight, bringing in cooler, wetter weather for all of next week. Chances of rain each and every day. We need it, though. Give the water bill a nice break.
Coffee, juices and other regular beverages are ready, as well as hot water for hot tea. And on the warmer bar this morning: your choice of bacon, sausage or both, with nice, hot buttermilk pancakes w/plenty of maple syrup, or whatever you want to have on your pancakes. And there's also scrambled eggs, if you want them also this morning.
Everyone have a good day, doing whatever you need to do today, whether it's railfanning, yard work, house work, or just relaxing and watching the football games.
As promised CW, I’m in here eating!
A cool day today with temp’s around 61* right now. Going to be a nice one today. We went to the Homecoming game last night for my school. It was ok.
Will probably be working on the new layout today. Might see you all later.
Justin
.....And another beautiful sunny day in Muncie....To reach about 78 degrees this afternoon. But it's really getting very dry here.
Quentin
Instead of our usual Saturday Night Pizza Fest, I thought instead, we'd have a country breakfast for supper tonight. So, on the warmer bar, there is:
Sausage, country fried steaks, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and there's several jellies, jams and preserves you can have as dessert with biscuits. (And, just so you know, we'll be having the same supper here in Louisville tonight.)
Everyone have a very nice evening, enjoy your supper, and take care.
Good evening. wow, Paula! Such a layout for supper. Tonight was BBQ rib night, so I shall have to pass. It has been a frustrating day, in general, here in Carolina for a number of reasons that I will not bore you with. The proposed rain has not materialized, but hopefully will later. We sure can use it. As I understand it, we are considered under drought conditions again. Not too long ago, they announced that the drought was over, but it has snuck back in on us. Everybody have a great weekend and take care.
Somebody turn up the heat! We set a new record low overnight (Friday/Saturday) of 29 at the local airport. I had 32.1 at 8 am.
This hasn't exactly been a tough summer, heat-wise. I'm not sure we cracked 90.
I always enjoy breakfast for supper - good choice CW.
On the railroad Sunday. Time to take the dog for a walk and hit the sack.

That's way too cold! The lowest we've been this month is 48 degrees.
The hottest temperature at Eppley Airfield this summer was 98 degrees. On that same day, my backyard weather station recorded a temperature of 101.8 degrees, but it was in the sun at the time.
I agree that breakfast for dinner is good. Sometimes we have "breakfast burritos" for dinner. Take a tortilla and put scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, shredded cheese, hashbrowns, and ketchup/salsa on it and then fold it into a burrito. Good stuff.
Good Sunday morning, everyone. Larry and Willy, thanks for the comments about breakfast for supper! Yeah, every so often, it is good to have breakfast for supper! Maybe one night this next week, we'll do it again, only with pancakes.
And speaking of pancakes, breakfast is just about ready. Already have the coffee and juices freshly made this morning, along with hot water for hot tea, and there's even some hot chocolate this morning.
And on the warmer bar this morning: blueberry muffins, caramel pecan rolls and cinnamon rolls.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a very good morning, and those of you going to Church services, work, or whatever you have planned for today, take care.
Cw thanks for breakfast. We had a great visit with Nora,Rick,Jay and Charlie. They had a hand operated pedal car downtown that the boys enjoyed. Also the displays at the jr high were neat too. They also said they wanted to come back and ride the findlay train sometime too.Too bad CSX had a mess on their chicago line in Indiana.Time to get ready and go to church.Pictures will be worked on this afternoon and Monday.
Wow.....some are reporting rather cold temps this morning....Here, earlier we had 60 degrees and we just might see some rain today....{60%}, chance. It's been dry for about 2 weeks. And lots of sunshine and almost mid Summer temps.
Good morning! I am enjoying some leisure time with my sister and her husband here in Gillette, Wyoming. We were able to spend a number of hours with our Colorado cousins and other family members in Custer State Park in South Dakota yesterday, but alas, the visit was all too short. I am now beginning to plan a trip to Colorado for next summer.
Gillette, Wyoming sits in the middle of the Powder River coal basin and a lot of coal trains run through here on the BNSF. I was awakened early this morning by the sound of a train running through Gillette, and if I were more familiar with the layout of this community I would have gotten dressed early, grabbed my camera and gone looking for some action.
Ray ooo ooo ooOOOOOo
Ray, it's good to know you're enjoying your vacation/family reunion.
For all our football fans, today we're having a Tailgaters Party type Sunday Dinner:
1. Barbecue chicken wings, grilled steaks, pork chops, brats, burgers, dogs, baked beans, potato salad, chips, dips, etc.,and the following pizzas (since I fixed breakfast for supper last night, instead of pizzas):
1. Pepperoni/mushroom. 2. Goetta. 3. Hawaiian. 4. Supreme. 5. Chicago style pizza.
Right now, we're having a lull in the rain here in Louisville. Hope everyone enjoys their afternoon, doing whatever you have to do, want to do, or just relaxing to get yourself prepared for the upcoming week's activities.
Cw thanks for supper.going to download matts movies.then its time to get ready for work.
Good Monday morning, everyone. Everything is cleaned up from yesterday in here, and there's freshly made coffee, freshly made juices, and hot water for tea are all ready to go this morning.
On the breakfast bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, toast, scrambled eggs.
Walt took the flashlight out last night, so he could check the rain guage. I believe it was showing five inches of water. That was around 9:00 last night. That was what we had received in rainfall since it started raining yesterday morning around 4 a.m.
Right now, no rain in our area; but we're supposed to be getting more rain today. Current temp is about 70 degrees, and our high today ranging from 78 to 80 degrees, with all the mugginess. Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a good morning, and take care.
Taking requests this morning, for what you all would like to have today for lunch and supper! So let me know what you want to eat today.
matt is on time and on the bus.rain here in nw ohio.good sleeping weather.Cw thanks for breakfast.BLT's will work for me for supper.good night
