Afternoon.

Well, when we got out of church we went to Lafayette for lunch. Then went to JCPenny’s for some curtains. We got some that were originally $80 each for $19.99! Wow! It really brightens up our living room. Oh I almost forgot, we got one of them new 40” LCD Hi-Def. TV’s last night. (Flat Screen as well) We love it.

We went home the back way, (Along the NS) didn't see a thing.

CW, thanks for supper/dinner. I might be back in for the corned beef, might not. But, the Cheese pizza is delicious!Dinner

Have a good afternoon/evening!

Justin

I have three extra large pizzas each of the following kinds ready and on the warmer bar for lunch:  1.  cheese w/extra cheese; 2.  pepperoni/mushroom; 3.  supreme

And for Sunday Dinner tonight:

1.  corned beef w/cabbage on the side for those who like cabbage, fresh garden veggie combo of cauliflower, broccoli, corn, carrots, and tomato slices (red, pink and yellow tomatoes)

2.  Italian spaghetti w/meat balls, garden salad and garlic bread

Hope I have satisfied everyones wishes for lunch and supper tonight.  Everyone have a great afternoon, and take care.

Good morning! CW, thanks much for breakfast, and the coffee this morning is very good!

It was kind of a short night for me last night, I figure I've been awake since at least 4:30 this morning, so I got out of bed at 5:45, figuring that I wasn't going to get any more sleep. I called Sarah last night and really had a good conversation with her, I figure she and I were on the phone for roughly an hour and a half.

I have a few hours to kill before I have to go in to Wendy's to work a three hour shift, and I figure I can take a nap when I get home after 2:00 this afternoon.

Our local HO scale railroad club, the Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society is getting ready for it's annual Fair Week open house, we have been a part of the the Sioux Empire Fair since 1965. We have one of the better club layouts in this region of the country and we draw a lot of visitors during fair week. In 1980 when I first joined the SVMES, I started a tradition of providing the club's membership with a lot of homemade goodies to munch on during the course of our open houses, fair week especially......namely cookies. And I am looking at producing five different varieties of cookies, two batches of each. Doing this year after year has proven to be a bit expensive, but fortunately the club's membership is pretty good when it comes to chipping in to help me recover my expenses. So I think after I finish work this afternoon I will go my neighborhood grocery store and stock up on flour, eggs, brown sugar, peanut butter, molasses and all the other good stuff that goes into my cookie baking effort. Chef Fair week begins on Tuesday morning, 8/11.

Goom mornin. I got kicked out of my bed by the girls, who took over and occupied it! It amazes me how 2 app 10 lb dogs can take up so much space..... 75 degrees and partly cloudy in Carolina this morning, with, of course, more thunder forecast. Paula, how about something with corned beef in it for supper? Thanks

Tom

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Definitely feel better after a good night's sleep (well, feel a little bit better, anyway, still feel like I've been "run over by a Mack truck").

Coffee is made (regular and decaf), juices are freshly made, along with lemonade, iced teas (sweet and unsweet), and plenty of hot water for hot tea, Larry.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage patties, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy.  You all can have any or all of the above menu, depending on how hungry you are.

Some people got rain overnight (don't know if we did or not, was too busy sleeping).  But we're supposed to have a little bit more showers/t-showers this morning, then clearning out this afternoon, with a high of around 83 for today.

Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and have a great morning.  You all take care, and see you all later.

Make it five-spent the day working on benchwork for a new layout, also found out the Menard's chain of home-improvement stores sells Homasote (yay!!), which I will probably pick up either tomorrow or Monday, have to finish assembling the sections first.  Have also been pricing out HO scale trackwork, I may end up handlaying mine to save on costs, but that's a way's off....

Well, time for bed here, as well....

Four tired people - spent the day at the antique boat show, and for the first time I can remember, actually had several responses related to the show, one rather serious.  Piled atop the continuing recovery from my trip to Michigan and Ohio, and I'm bushed.

On the plus side, Alan Jackson of country music fame was apparently on the grounds.  I saw his boat (nice!), but not him.

Time to take the dog for a walk and hit the sack.

Hello everyone.  I'm sorry about not getting back in here until now.  We have been gone all afternoon and evening.  We went to the Stewart Flea Market at the Fair and Expo Center, then did some shopping, and then to Applebee's for supper.  I'll make it up to you all tomorrow, as far as the pizza fest goes:  we'll have our Pizza Fest tomorrow, if that's all right with you all.

We are three tired people tonight.  Hope you all have had a very nice day, and I'll see you all in the morning.

{From last months Cafe/Diner}....Johnny....no, I was on a mission for Uncle Sam.  And on the shape of the bottle...I simply assumed it was some bottle producer / Coke satellite plant from somewhere in the Orient.  Don't remember looking on the bottom to see, "from where....".

Sunshine here this morning....Have a  classic "car show", locally to go take a look at this morning....Actually there are two in the area today for those  with that interest.

Paula....On the 90 degrees stuff....Our indoor/outdoor instrument did regester 90 degrees earlier one day this past week.  But here too, it's been below normal much of the time this season.

Over in my home area of Pennsylvania, they are being wetted down with soaking rain the last 2 days......and there is a 4 day weekend of Antique Tractor Festival celebration that is being effected.  We thought about driving the 400 miles to attend, but decided we'd try to go {for visit}, later in the season again...Lucky we changed our minds....

Good Saturday morning and Happy August 1st to everyone.  It's hard to believe that we're almost to the end of summer, and school's about ready to start.  I imagine there's probably a few school systems getting ready to begin classes next week.

Ray, thank you for getting breakfast together this morning.  I was just being lazy, and put off coming to the computer this morning.

Happy Birthday Wishes to Nance69, today is her birthday.  Also, Happy Birthday to RJ (miniwyo), who had a birthday yesterday, and to Jess Red Horse, whose birthday is tomorrow (I guess he's still around here somewhere, lurking about.

Everyone have a terrific day, railfanning, doing household chores, or whatever you have planned for today.  I'll see you back in here tonight, for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.

Deggesty

Paula, you're early. Did you and Walt want to spare Tom the strain of this monthend's move?Smile

I believe that she and Tom corresponded with each other, and he said for her to go ahead a start the move without him. Blindfold

Louisville's weather went down in the record books, first July in quite awhile that we had NO days at, or over 90 degrees! Plus, we're at about 1.7" of rain over the normal for the month. Sign - Dots
