Merry Christmas to all!! God Bless.

I'd also like to wish everyone well, espeacilly those who are deffending this country and can't be with their families this Christmas, I also want to wish those people well who are stranded in Colorado after that 3 ft of snow.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS, please

Well, I will as of this time tomorrow be on a flight from Louisville, KY to my hometown city of Philadelphia, PA. Hopefully, I won't run into too much of a delay.

Oh I see the diner is on the 900th page! Nice I do wonder are we going to have a celabration for it's 1000th page? I do hope so.

Jay, I was also wondering if Chris is stuck at the airport, since he's not been on the forums.  Guess we'll just have to wait, and hopefully we'll be hearing something from him soon.

Has anyone seen our beloved Mrs. Mookie this morning?

Still have breakfast items available for our friends on the west coast, and also have our FRIDAY FISH FRY ready.  On today's fish menu:  cod, halibut, rainbow trout, and catfish, served with fries, hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

Desserts today:  been baking Christmas cookies all morning, and icing them.  Look for your names on them.  There are six cookies apiece, and believe you me, that took some time, to get each one's name on six cookies, per person.  NOTE:  Mookie, Houston Ed, Joe, there are six cookies for each of your family members also, so be sure to get them:  Driver Ed, Aimee, and Ed's girls, Stacey, Matt, etc.

OK.  Merry Christmas to those who are baling.  The rest of you have to wait until Sunday or maybe even Monday.

Where is Chris?  Could we be getting a bunch of pictures from the Denver airport?  Step daughter and family got out in the morning just before the storm hit.  Winter travel-Timing is everything!!

Well, I'm hoping to be in this weekend, if I can get the operating system to load on my computer.  So far no good, but I'll keep trying.  It's gotta take one of these times.....

But, yes, the best of whatever holiday you choose to celebrate!

Our share of the Midwest storm will be in liquid form over the next couple of days, but it looks like sun on Christmas Day...

And congrats to CW for starting Page #900.  Sorry about the mess, guys, fudge (chocolate in general) tends to make me do crazy things, as a certain cat knows very well.  I promise to be good for the rest of the year.

I'll probably be lurking even though we'll be traveling alot over the next few days, but I'll still wish those that won't be around a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Good Friday morning, to one and all!  We've got a pleasant temp this morning, in the upper 50s, and the rain is beginning to leave the area.

Dan and Datafever, thank you both!  It's really nice to come into a clean kitchen and dining room in the mornings.

Coffee is on, juice is made, and hot chocolate and hot tea are on.  On the menu this morning:  doughnuts, pancakes, sausage, turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy.

TO ALL WHO WILL NOT BE IN AFTER TODAY, I WANT TO TAKE THIS MOMENT TO WISH YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Howdy!

I did make some of that fudge CW, I just took it with me so it wouldn't disappear in an untimely fashion.  So here's a couple of trays!  One is all chocolate and one is peanut butter and fudge!  I felt like baking lots this morning so here's some freshly frosted sugar cookies!  Oh yea, some egg nog too (n/a)!

Mook that's some fine mistletoe...but I have a rule about tails and kissing!  Shock [:O]  Here's some special fudge laced with catnip just for you!  I'll try some of that chicken noodle soup as it's a bit chilly.  Ed's aim seems to have found us up here and he turned the temp down on it but not far enough!

Mookie, glad you made it in this morning!  Mudchicken, also glad to see you in!  Hope we'll get to see/hear from Chris soon.

Mookie, thanks for the big pot of noodle chicken soup!  The best fruit cake I've had so far, is the ones from the Gethsemene monks.  Those are delicious!!  Have you ever had one of their fruit cakes?

Snirty?  Again?

Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, hummmmm - "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer"  (we can tell by the paw marks on her back)

Made a big pot of noodles and.....tee hee.....chicken soup for lunch......don't mind the feathers - they are high in vitamins and minerals.

Sactoguy - you are right - Collin does put out a great fruit cake - one of the few I will even taste.

Poor west of Lincoln!  That was meant for us, I am sure, but Houston Ed's aim was a little off!

He usually hits us pretty squarely!

Chris should have gone to Chicago around Thanksgiving - it was much better then.  Now it will be closer to Valentine's Day!  Sad [:(]

28 INCHES of snow and still going ... back and arms beginnining to protest, fortunately the snow is powder this time instead of wet snow...Dogs are getting cabin fever.

Copcar won't be mobile for about 24-36 hours. Main roads are open in town, interstates out of town are not, residential streets are knee deep to waist deep with the drifts. Check in later.

Mookie hit the nail on the head with her weather report this morning. Ended up with over half an inch of rain, but no snow. There could be a rain/snow mix tonight, but no more than inch of accumulation. No more snow in the forecast for the next 7 days, either. Sigh [sigh]

Yawn - slept in late, breakfast out with people - something I don't see a lot of at 5:15 am.

Messing here for today and tomorrow - hours pretty much what I want to make them.  Then off until the 2nd.

Rained overnite - 39 this morning, so no snow or ice - yet.  Very foggy - very, very foggy.  Maybe an inch of snow tonite.  Nothing too severe - and happy first day of winter!

Hung my mistletoe "?" (see it?) Right on the end of mah tail......

See if I have any takers....

Good morning everyone, at last report we had 33 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and it is raining here. Freezing rain and snow is very likely here for later this afternoon. I will be headed out the door for another day of working for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer pretty soon. I have three more days of this kind of work to do, and it has provided me with a badly needed source of income, but I will be glad when my final shift has come to an end this Saturday night. I will stop in the Diner on my way home tonight for a cup of hot chocolate, by then I will need it.

I heard the Denver area is getting a lot of snow, I have a cousin who lives there, and I would bet she is pretty well stranded where she lives.

Haven't heard from my sister (Aurora, CO).  I'll probably talk to her at Christmas, so will wait for the lowdown until then.

On the other hand, our forecast is for rain....

A light dusting - maybe an inch, before dawn, with blue skies the rest of the day would do very nicely, thank you...

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  WowShock [:O]  Dan, thank you for all you did in here!  The Crock Pot sure has a terrific aroma coming from it this morning, and you made the coffee, and OJ.  Okay, I've got the skillet out, and the sliced corn beef hash is starting to fry, as I type!  And you did the dishes, and cleaned the hammock and chairs!  Okay, what do you want?Wink [;)] I'm waiting for some Death by Chocolate fudge, did you also make that some of that this morning?  Where's it hidden?!?!

It's so nice to have such good help in here!  And I've done my part, fixing some bacon, scrambled eggs, hot tea and hot chocolate and a couple of other breakfast items for those who don't like corn beef hash.

Everyone have a great day, and I hope the weather clears in Denver, so Chris can make it out to go home for the holidays!

There's nothing like using '4H' in the snow.  Traction...sweet traction!  All the naysayers who spout about not needing 4WD sure are appreciative of it when they need to be pulled out of ditches.  Need a 4x4 wrecker anyone?Mischief [:-,]

I agree with you, Dan, nothing like 4wd in the snow, especially with half a ton of engine sitting directly over the front axle!!

Speaking of 4wd trucks, if you're looking for a bombproof front or rear bumper, check these guys out:  http://www.buckstop.biz   I dont think it can get much heavier than these: 1/4 inch steel center section, 3/16 inch outer section, built in winch mount, 2-inch reciever, and removeable grille guard.  As soon as I can get enough money saved up, I want to get these for my truck.

Copcarss, hope you manage to get home before Christmas, sounds like Denver has a real big mess on it's hands right now.

See everyone later.....

That is a sweet bumper Randy. Reminds me of a friend's dad I grew up with and his "bumper".

He worked for the US post office doing a 360 mile mail run on hwy395 north of Reno. After a couple of fatal vehicle vs. deer collisions (for both machine and beast) he took his new Dodge van to the local high school welding shop. He worked out a deal with the instructor for the class to build him a bumper / grill guard. He supplyed the steel and the class designed and built it for class credit. His only instructions were to make it "Deer proof at 80 MPH". It certainly was that !!! A few years later he hit another car at about a 50MPH impact and it didn't even scratch it !!! Unfortuneatly the lack of "crush zone" to coushion the impact really did some damage to him.

Boy was that a fun rig to go blasting through the snow & ice mountains in the mall parking lot with Big Smile [:D]
