Yes mookie she found me at produce! lol I haven't been in here for quite a while, I've been very busy over the holidays Thanksgiving and now Christmas.
Well nothing too exciting is happening with me, I'm just sitting here waiting and hoping to have a White Christmas this year, then I can go out snowboarding.
Oh I forgot to mention I'm heading back to Philadelphia for Christmas, my mother was kind enough to buy the tickets for me, I think she was going to do that anyway.
Tree I feel your pain about the OS disc, I've done plenty of change overs before and they can be a pain. I think you should of waited until January 2007 Microsoft is going to come out with the new VISTA OS.
Whats for din din??

Can I have a big bowl of beef stew? It's really cold today in Sacramento (it was 28 degrees F. this morning! )
CNW 6000 wrote:How's about some burgers, brats, and boneless chicken breasts for dinner with sides of mashed taters, and corn for dinner?
All righty, we have several requests for supper tonight: burgers, brats, boneless chicken breasts w/mashed taters and corn, chili and beef stew w/cornbread. Everything is ready, and on the warmer bar, so help yourselves.
Joe, there's several containers w/your name on them, for you to pick up on your way to work.

CW,
BEST BRATS EVER! Thanks so much! I'll eat all of this by myself unless someone else sneaks in here! 'Course I'll save some for Joe and his squad!

That's ok...I've got more. These cold burgers will make great breakfast food! Thanks CW!
Hey Mook-want a recipe for Death By Chocolate Cake?
Good morning everyone! The orange juice is ready to pour, and I've gotten the hot chocolate out and the coffee is brewing.
We've got a temperature of 37 degrees here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, I don't think it will get much warmer than that this morning, and we have a threat of some freezing rain for later this afternoon.
My part-time employer served all his employees a prime rib dinner for lunch yesterday afternoon.........he does this every year at Christmas time and man!!, was it ever good!! You can hardly get a better cut of meat anywhere in Sioux Falls. I wish I had been able to take more of it home with me.
I hope everyone has a good day!

getting a napkin for the kitty
Good Wednesday morning to all! Slept in this morning: just woke up at 7:30, so thank you, Ray, for getting the coffee, juice and tea ready.
You all will find all the regular breakfast menu items on the warmer bar, in just a few minutes. I'm cooking as fast as I can.
Joe, don't worry: I've got plenty of Christmas cookies. When I made them up the other day, I put quite a few pans in the walk-in freezer, so we just have to put them in the oven, and then frost and decorate. We'll have plenty again by lunchtime.
Glad everyone enjoyed the dinner/supper last night. If anyone has any requests for today's lunch and supper menus, please let me know, and I'll fix it.

Someone look up!

Hey Larry, we need your ladder!
......Do we see much storm and deep snow headed for Nebraska....Looks like Jen might be spared from the brunt of it but center state and the western part look to be right in line....
Believe we're {central Indiana}, going to luck out as this system appears to be headed more north than east presently and hopefully that takes it up and over the top of us....Even what moisture might be upcoming to us most likely will be rain with the forecast temps.
Frosty here this morning...{even now at 9:45}, and still just 29 degrees but headed to moderate temps this afternoon. Partly sunny too.

Morning All,
Well I believe the powers that be at Amtrak must've heard me bad mouthing them lately. It would seem they hooked up with their buddies at NOAA and NASA to order up a good old fashioned upslope blizzard the day before I'm supposed to fly out of here. Read that to mean: The airport will likely be shut down with 2 feet of snow and winds at 30 or better (and the airport is in Western Kansas, so the wind blows quite freely). Doh!
If you need me, I'll be over in the booth pestering Weatherman Willy finding out when I'll be able to catch a flight home for Christmas. Anyone even thinking of singing, whistling, humming or otherwise producing the sounds of that one song by Bing Crosby had better be wearing Brian's tin shoes!

This reminds me of the story about how the angel ended up on top of the Christmas tree, but in the spirit of the season, I won't repeat it here....

Hmm Larry,if you had repeated that story here, you might be needing more than Brian's "Tin Shoes"!!
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Well, since it looks like no one has any special requests today, you all will have to be content with whatever I fix for you. Which is now on the stove/top and in the Crock Pot:
1. Vegetable beef soup and beef stew w/cornbread on the side (that's in the oven, baking)
2. Leftover dumplings to go with some grilled boneless skinless chicken breasts w/sides of green beans, baked potatoes and garden salad.
Desserts today: chocolate cake, Christmas cookies, fresh out of the oven this morning, which have been iced and decrated, and we've got egg nog and boiled custard. And the egg nog is non-alcoholic, so don't even go there.
Chris, hope the weather clears up enough, so that you can catch your flight home.

Western Kansas has an airport?
See if Hertz will rent out a snowmobile suit and a snowmobile with Neverlost mounted on it- get on and head east!

I'll be right over for the beef stew with cornbread!
It's right now 33 °F. as I type this.
Mookie, I keep telling you, I don't look up because I might get hit by something on the ground!!
Not too much else going on in this neck of the woods, we're down to our final order of 100 UPS trailers for the year, should be done with them by a week from today, even with having the 25th and 26th off (day shift gets Friday off, too). Have not heard yet on any news for 2007 in the trailer industry, hoping for another big year, but one can never tell in this business....
I think someone will have to give me a copy of that story, because I do not remember hearing it. Oh well......
See everyone later.....

Mooks - Best be getting down before you get blown out of that tree.
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS HERE - From our 8th floor perch here in the Denver Tech Center (I-25 at I-225) we are watching waves of snow getting blown upwards at about a 30 degree angle. We are expecting 18-24 of snow inches by tomorrow morning. Already have drifts 3 feet deep in the parking lot. Winds at 30-45 MPH out of the east. Willy can now quit tinkering with the Ronco Weather Machine in the back room, he' proven that it works....
Copcar last seen buried in a snowdrift in the Peoples Republic of Boulder. Lots of 2WD cars with baloney skin tires getting stuck and can't exit the building parking lot.
I-70 (Denver to Kansas) and I-70 (Denver to New Mexico) are being closed because of white-out conditions and the small towns cannot handle too many stranded motorists.
The dim bulb schmucks over at Denver RTD that run the toy trains (light rail) are discovering too late that they should have installed switch heaters for the second time this year. The "dragons" on the freight railroads are earning their keep right now in plain view of the stranded passengers on the toy trains.
DIA (aka "Bagdad on the Prairie") is indeed in Western Kansas. Most folks don't want to believe that half of Colorado is flat, so I guess the Kansas Territory that Colorado was carved out of in 1876 will be getting some real estate returned. Most folks also tend to think that Denver is the only town in Colorado. (The tourism marketing folks did too good a brainwashing job...)
Placing an advance order for an industrial strength serving of hot cider. The snow shovel is going to get a workout tonight...
