Well, looks like we've been kind of on the slow side in here this morning.  So, for lunch today, we'll just have vegetable beef soup, mild chili, and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Does anyone have any requests for supper?  If so, please let me know by 12:30, EST, so I can get preparations started.

I'll put in my request for spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread, although if you would prefer to make liver and onions with potatoes, that would be okay too.

CW: I'll second the request for Spaghetti (Just the sauce and the cheese, please - I'm up to my eyeballs in Loveland, CO track spaghetti right now...some of you will see what I mean)

Mooks: Sorry you are so grumpy. Is some of that also because Muddy Feathers spent Friday and Saturday at Snidely[Sidney], Nebrasky and you weren't informed by BNSF or Uncle Pete?

Spent most of yesterday cleaning up the mess that my girlfriends bird, an Eclectus (sp), made of the computer room.  Anyone want a Red and Purple bird for XMas?  Mook...I hear they're good with ketchup!

have had several (burp) birds.  Had a parakeet that would stick his whole face in your ear and then, at the top of his lungs, would holler "Teedalee" (that was his name)

Out of cats, dogs, snails, lizards, sparrows and regular birds - birds are by far the messiest.  Giving up on all animals - and ketchup, too!

Ok...that's fair.  I thought I'd offer it to you first just to cover that base.  Wonder how much 'Air Mail' to somewhere tropical would be...

CW that 'sketti sounds great for tonight and I'd love to pre-order a couple of plates of it along with the garlic bread!

Spaghetti and meatballs it is, folks!  Sneaked in earlier, to see if anyone had made a request for tonight.  So the spaghetti sauce is simmering on the stove top, and I'm getting ready to make the meatballs.    Everything will be ready in just a few minutes, so anyone who will be going home from day work, can take some home with them (Mookie, that means you!)

Joe, there are four containers for you:  one for Matt, one for Mama, and two for you to take to work with you.

There will also be some liver and onions with baked potatoes, for anyone who wants that.

I'm also making a big pot of dumplings for tonight.

Latest information on our Nebraska winter storm is rather unimpressive for Omaha. Basically it looks like we'll start off as a short period of freezing rain on Wednesday morning and then go over to rain for the rest of the day Wednesday. It'll get cold enough for snow Wednesday night through Thursday night, but if the low tracks right over Omaha like it is forecast to do right now, we will probably be in the dry slot for much of that time and not get much of anything at all. Still, a shift of just 100 miles to the south would give us a much better shot at snow. I don't think it is going to happen, though. We'll just wait and see.

Our local prognosticators don't have alot of hope for a white Christmas here.  Too bad, as our son and daughter-in-law are flying up from Florida- she's a native Floridian, experienced snow for the first time in her life last year when they came up here.

Speaking of weather, it's supposed to be under 30 degrees F. tomorrow morning in Sacramento, CA. Shock [:O] I hope when the DD/CS opens tomorrow morning people make multiple pots of hot coffee and hot tea because we'll need it! It might be a good idea to make big, hot pots of chili, New England clam chowder, and beef stew for everyone here. Thumbs Up [tup]Dinner [dinner]

When I did my morning walk this morning it was only 29 degrees outside. Small wonder why my nose turned quite red after the walk.

Your nose was red, huh?  Blaming it on the weather, huh?  Or could it have possibly been that rather potent substance that you drank to warm yourself up after the walk?  Huh? Wink [;)]

Good Tuesday morning to all!  Quite a bit cooler here in Louisville, this morning:  44 degrees out right now.

I have PLENTY of coffee, hot tea, and hot chocolate going this morning.  And on the warmer bar you'll find:

turkey bacon, sausage, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast, bagels, pancakes and whole wheat pancakes.

I also have on the industrial range/stove top:  beef stew, New England clam chowder, chili, and beef vegetable soup, that will be ready to eat by lunchtime for everyone.

He's probably like me at home lately, busier than when my kids were in high school.  Luckily for me, my work has been more relaxed lately, so I have some time to surf during the day.

Home computer on the fritz, new operating system CD had a bad file, so I have to wait until Wednesday to get another copy from the office supply store.  Monday is regular day off, so back in office today, finally.

Long day Saturday.  Served breakfast at fire hall in AM (in at 6am to start preps), ran down to Utica and rode "Polar Express," arrived back home at 12:30 am.  Fought with computer some on Sunday, but mostly lounged around.  I was pooped!

Our "Polar Express" was an unqualified success - well over 7,000 riders over the course of the run.

Bear  Claw and some tea for me, SVP.

Only one thing though: I don't drink alcoholic beverages of any kind. I did drink a big mug of hot decaffeinated coffee after I came back from the walk, though.

Nah - pastry, usually with a little cinnamon in the filling.  Delish warmed briefly on the grill...

Good to see you back with us, Larry!!  [#welcome{ back!!

Finally made it back from Produce!  Had 83 people today, that we served.  And it was crowded in the gym, believe you me!!

Lunch is now on the warmer bar, and if anyone on the west coast comes in, I'll be more than happy to fix you breakfast instead.

Everyone enjoy whatever meal you have in here today!  Or just come in for some dessert:

Christmas cookies, brownies, pecan pie, mince meat bars, and chocolate cake and white cake with white frosting.
