Morning: turned on a light this morning - should turn it back off - it is a disaster in here!

Well - two thoughts for today -

Meatloaf - try making it with stovetop instead of bread or bread crumbs or oatmeal or whatever you use. It is already seasoned and just the right amount of bread. Yummy.

Books: I just finished John Grisham's King of Torts. Great book. Talks about what we all know is out there, but just hate to think about - mass tort lawyers. (You know - Fen-Fen diet pills and hundreds of people filing under one lawsuit) Quite an eye-opening book! Makes me want to send the driver to Law School! I could then get Millie a sister or brother and fly them both trackside so they wouldn't have to drive! This may sound ridiculous, but so are the tort lawyers in this book - and believe me, I am pretty sure they are out there in the real world...

Maybe our resident lawyer will read this........and reply.....?

It's a little cool here this morning. So for breakfast, think'll make make up a big
batch of biscuits, make some gravy, and fry some sausage (patties and links).

Sounds kind of good to me. [angel]

Mookie, that John Grisham book sounds interesting. Will have to find that one.

CW - I like all his books - he's an easy read and always interesting.

And Sue Grafton (Alphabet Murders) is another favorite!

I need coffee big time. Some lousy neighbours kept me up all night fighting like a pack of numb nuts that they are. I wish I had a fire hose so I could have cooled them down. I hate apartment buildings-long live the house.

I know what you mean, however CW and I are lucky,as we have parking lots on either side of us. Doesn't mean that we don't get noise from time to time, but we don't get that much. Coffee, come on by,there's always a pot on.[:)]

move next to us - we go to bed at 8:30 and are very quiet. And it is a duplex, so no other noisy neighbors. Won't even need a garden hose for us! [8D]

I should have added in my last, the parking lots belong to the church
across the street. Plus with a lot of elderly people in our neighborhood,
we really don't have a lot of noise. Now on the street with those stupid loud stereos
That's another story. I swear,if they ever run out of gas;so long as the battery
works, they can make it to the gas station by turning up (like it isn't high enough)
the volume and bounce their vehicle to the nearest station.[:)]

...Noise at home...? Home sets on the center of 2 lots and back yard joins a golf course, so.....If one wants quiet, this is not too bad.

Walt, is Stephen Coonts a Sci Fi writer? I've heard of the name but nto read any of his stuff.

I honestly think John Grisham's books have gone downhill a little compared to his early ones. The Pelican Brief I reckon was a very interesting yarn [:)]. Later ones like The Runaway Jury were a bit thin. Oh well..plenty of variety I guess...

Kozzie, Stephen Coonts is a fiction writer, and former naval aviator. His books always
has a military theme to them. I sure enjoy most of his books. [:)]

Hello Patrons, staff, and friends. [:D]

Just thought I would check in and make sure no one has burned down the diner. Nice to see all is well.

Well I finally got around to taking my first test (1 of 3). I missed one question and scored a 98. It was kinda nerve racking as it is an important test and highly monitored. Since it is an FAA test they have all kinds of safeguard against cheating and such. I was told before entering the testing room, "Don't even scratch . . . " auuuu well you know. [;)]

Now to get busy and study for test # 2.

Kroger had a coffee sale about 2 weeks ago. It was 10 cans for 10 bucks. I bought a variety of coffee to check them out. Now I know some people are more picky about their coffee than I am. But anyway, I used to buy a lot of the blue cans. But I think I like the red cans "Supreme Blend Coffee" better. They are only 13 ounce cans but I thought it was still a good deal.

I think I will have some biscuits and sausage gravy. Did I ever tell you people that I like biscuits and sausage gravy ( lol lol lol ). After that I think I will have a nice large bowl of oatmeal, got to balance out the "C" you know. [;)] I don't think my numbers are high, they were not last time they were checked. But as we "mature" we need to be more watchful about what we eat. Now pass the biscuits and sausage gravy. [;)] [:p] [:D]

Congrats Jim! You will be so smart when you finish, you will be able to take a book in the "library" and read!

You know - they put oatmeal in boxcars and add water and it blows the roof off - read it right here on the forum! So be careful!

Now I have to figure out why Mutt doesn't want to acknowledge the frilly apron. I rather think it is pretty - has little bunnies on it. Maybe he doesn't wear those bunny slippers I gave him any more?

Mookie: He's trying to pull the wool (fur) over everyone's eyes: He looks very good
in a frilly apron. You ought to see him in his Frito Lay Dorito apron. Very sexxxxy!

As far as the bunny slippers go, unfortunately the dog thought they were real rabbits
and ATE them!![:0][:p][}:)] [angel]

Jim,
CONGRATS on the first test. Hope(I know you will)you do as well on 2nd,and 3rd.
Sounds like a heck of a buy on coffee, don't think we had that in our local area,or we would have taken advantage of that. Even if it was the small can, that's still a very good price.[:)]

Oddly, this dog will turn down some things, especially if there is no smell - I was honestly surprised when she ate the beets. She used to eat baby carrots, but will just drop them now, if you toss one to her...

This Tree spent vacation doing a little reading (on the lakeshore), but also sealed the driveway, printed some raffle tickets, got new tires on the truck, did some sailing, mowed, and slept in a lot...
