No need to worry, Brian--we came out to the garden to see the trains.  One's bound to show up, and Sis-kitty will be so excited that the element of surprise will just evaporate.

Besides, I think it's me she's after...

Wow Brian! What a catch! That is a stunning shot, and the lighting is absolutely delicious! Congrats on a superb shot that I would very much consider a wall-hanger if it were mine!

Sarah, I'm glad you'd go easy on me. I've never been much of a gym type, but rather just tried to get out occasionally and do "stuff." Of course, my "stuff" usually involves use of my legs (hiking, biking, etc.), so I have virtually no upper body strength whatsoever. I think I'd be lucky if I could bench 30 lbs.

Speaking of that, I managed to do a healthy bike ride last night. Didn't do the route I planned, but stayed on the Ralston Creek Trail all the way to Arvada Blunn Reservoir. According to the City of Arvada website, the trail is completely ADA compliant. I'm not so sure about that. Biking up the side of the dam embankment really leaves one wondering if the grade is less than the prescribed 5%. At any rate, I managed to keep a good pace up except for the aforementioned climb by the dam. I guess I need to work on uphill biking a bit.

I guess that I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great one!

TTFN!

Well, at Produce today, we had 86 people sign in for Produce.  We had:

cantaloupe, cabbage, red & green peppers,  big bags of shredded lettuce, potatoes, and red
seedless grapes. This is the first week I know of that we didn't get any watermelon.  And,
wouldn't you know it, someone complained that there weren't any watermelons.Eight Ball [8]

The grill is warming up, and I'll be putting the hot dogs, steaks, and burgers on in about
20 minutes.

Well, guess it's about time for me to start serving supper.  On the menu tonight:  leftovers:

meat loaf, mashed taters, green beans, lasagna, garlic bread, and salad.

It's all laid out on the warmer bar, so feel free to help yourself.  And if anyone needs a bib,
they're under the counter.

I just found this CD of jungle and barnyard sounds starring a "Joe Koh".  You must have signed the release in your sleep.

Needs amplification, though.

Thanks for the compliments on the UP 1995 shot, guys.  I now consider it my best RR shot ever.  Sometime within the next couple of weeks, I think I will pick up some large-format photo stock and print up a nice 8X10 on my Canon Photo Printer- either that or take the file in to a photo shop.

Late this morning!  Was on fence yowling at the forum posters.  It is a noisy job, but someone has to do it!

Will be here today, but not tomorrow.  I have this gorgeous vet that promises to put stars in my eyes! He will be tightening some screws so I have brighter green and new gold, so my eyes will shine at night!

Did you ever really look in the mirror at your eye color?  Beside the bloodshot look, I mean.

Mine are green with brown flecks (which I will change to gold, of course) and then a dark blue circle around the whole iris.  (hazel is just too dull!)  Snappy Green/Gold with red or purple fur and electric blue earrings!

Perfect!

It's hot, but hey - the sun is shining and other than traffic, we aren't having any upsets today.  Let's hope it stays that way.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone!  Going to be a very, very
warm day here.  By 5 p.m., we are to be at 90.  And the hu-
midity is back on the way up.

Don't worry, Kevin:  I always keep some of the supper menu
in the fridge, for people who are late getting in the diner.
So go see what you'd like, and heat it up in the microwave.

Mookie, sounds like your eyes are going to be very gorgeous!
Know you will enjoy the new look.

Joe, thanks for putting the coffee on, and making the juice
and lemonade.  Don't get overheated mowing grass today.

Breakfast this morning:  oatmeal, toast, bacon.  Thought we'd
go light on the breakfast this morning.  There's also some
cantaloupe in the fridge.

Mook,

The irises in our eyes are actually even more individualistic than our fingerprints. Remember the National Geographic cover image back in the 80's of the young Afghan refugee girl? They were finally able to find her again a couple years ago (it was and probably still is one of the most discussed covers in the magazines history). They were able to identify her by her irises (which, admittedly, are almost as colorful as yours).

There's a little write-up on the story here:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/03/0311_020312_sharbat.html

Meanwhile, in other news, we actually saw a couple raindrops last night. Seems the monsoonal weather pattern is firing up some afternoon storms. Could happen again today, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Anyways, I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great day!

I've been wracking my brain, trying to decide something for
lunch today.  Finally came up with an idea, but it definitely
is not anything unique.

Today's lunch menu:  salisbury steak w/gravy, mashed taters
and corn on the cob, and peas.

For dessert, we have:  apple pie, pecan pie, peach pie,
and chocolate pie.  If you want something to top your pie,
we have Whipped Topping, or ice cream.

I'm also asking for requests for supper tonight.  Hope to
see at least two or three suggestions for me by about 2 p.m.

Colorado Chris - I remember that picture.  At the time, I thought how beautiful that face was and it was because of the eyes!  I love to check out eyes and see the different colors.  And how they can change depending on the light!  So everyone open wide!

Mutt/Joe - They will dialate my eyes and they will go from hazel to all brown!  It is so odd.

CW - after that lunch - everyone should skip supper!  Let them order in their favorite food.

Sarah - air and fans fail me not!  It is getting pretty gruesome out there again! Houston Nebraska! And I am always good, so no problem there.  Wink [;)]

It is now officially Brownout Season in Denver. Got back to the office at 11am from a construction inspection job to find our office building (all 14 floors) had been in the dark for an hour. Went home to push paper and the power did the same thing there, so back to the office.

Hope the gatorade spigot is gravity fed.

Mookie, I like your suggestion for supper (especially since
no one has even given me any suggestions).  Everyone can fix
their own supper, or order in their favorite food.

A cheeseburger & fries sounds absolutely perfect...  I wonder how the new milkshake machine is working?

Beautiful (if a tad hot and muggy) here today.  The forecast suggested thunderstorms, but so far they've stayed far away.  Saw some awesome thunderheads last night, although it probably wasn't so awesome for those who were underneath them.

Believe I'll head down and volunteer with the RR this weekend.  With a view like this on the morning trip, who can turn it down?
