Saw a CSX Choo Choo today.  YAY!  I mean...yay!  Jim, I hope the precious doggie is fine, I'll pray for the little girl.  She's one of the nicest women I've ever met, but not the hariest.

Ya'll pray for Dutchess!

Brian,we didn't get quite that hot today (seems that's coming later this week) but it
did get up to about 91-92 here today, with one of those out of sight heat index figures.

Switch8frg,that sounds about like the meal that is planned for in the morning here;and
yes,we'll be losing our "favorite visitor" for awhile,it's been a great two weeks.

Jim, hope that Duchess is doing well now,and continues to do so.

Cannonball, that does sound like a good breakfast.  But
I'm all out of ham.

Coffee is ready, along with fresh orange juice, iced tea,
and lemonade.

Breakfast this morning:  sausage, biscuits and sausage
gravy, grits, scrambled or fried eggs.

Someone else will have to do lunch today, or you all can
fend for yourselves.  We will be leaving around 12, 12:30,
to take Sarah to the airport.

Do have supper taken care of though:  there are two large
Crock Pots with pork chop abracadbra cooking on low for
supper tonight.

As Mutt said, it's been  a great two weeks with Sarah, and
we both hate to have to put her on a plane back to Phila-
delpia. But it is time for her to go back, and go back to
work.

Sarah, Godspeed on your trip back to Philadelphia!

^~^  ?

Been a busy weekend.  Hope Duchess is doing better.  This is tough.  All animals have a special place with pseudo-Mookie.

Today's lunch should be a variety of fresh veggies - from the veggie stand outside, along with sliced melon and grilled cousin.  Crackers and croissants on side.  Mmmmm - nice on a hot day.

Then.....a nap.

Cousin is so I won't offend a certain feathered fowl.  I think Iowa is noted for its corn....I think I am on to something here.

You know - if I stand on my all my tippy toes, it makes me much taller.......

All tasseled out now, typically around eight feet tall.  Chatted with a farmer friend at church yesterday, he said the crop around here is looking pretty good this year.  We've been getting the rain just in time.  I've been less than impressed with the quality of the sweet corn we've bought, though.

Morning All,

Well, I have some descriptions up on the weekend adventures now. Will try to get a post together with a little more detailed trip report in here either on lunch or tonight.

Sarah, hope you have a safe trip back to PA.

Well, I guess I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!

P.S. Just saw the strangest thing as I was leaving the diner. There was a chicken running down the street, followed by a guy wearing some positively medieval footwear, both being chased by a cat. It seemed that both the chicken and the footwear model were headed towards the bakery in search of a large chocolate cake..........................................................

Mornin' All

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers.  Duchess is about the same as far as the nacked eye can see.  She is still up and somewhat active and is taking her pills and eating the special dog food.  We have an appointment for 11 am tomorrow morning and I hope the vet can find some impovement in her blood.  I can't see any improvement but I don't see any worsening either, so as long as she can eat and take her pills there is hope.  The vet claims the liver is an amazing organ and can regenerate itself so we are hoping it is not too late to do so.  She was born in June of 2002 so she is 4 people years old.  Dobermans have lived to be about 18 years old but the norm is anywhere from 10 to 12 or so.  Sasha was 10 years and 4 months when she was put to sleep with lung cancer.  I am hoping that Duchess can make it through this and live out a nice good life.

I have to work today but this is a short week considering I have only worked the last 3 days and now get 2 days off.  Opps, forgot, I just accepted an overtime call for Tuesday 3rd shift.  But with the extra vet expenses I can use the extra money.

It is going to be a hot one today.  It sure was yesterday too.

Best Wishes to All.

Everyone Take Care

Hanging out under a Blue Moon again, MC? Perhaps putting a Fat Tire on your bicycle? Or maybe just headed over to the Railyard?

Be wary...it's all part of Hickenlooper's plan to take over Denver, Colorado and maybe the world if he has time! Wink [;)]Tongue [:P]

Chris,

Still have that issue, framed.

It was voted one of the Best cover Shots by a Geographic readers poll.

Mook,

The irises in our eyes are actually even more individualistic than our fingerprints. Remember the National Geographic cover image back in the 80's of the young Afghan refugee girl? They were finally able to find her again a couple years ago (it was and probably still is one of the most discussed covers in the magazines history). They were able to identify her by her irises (which, admittedly, are almost as colorful as yours).

There's a little write-up on the story here:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/03/0311_020312_sharbat.html

Meanwhile, in other news, we actually saw a couple raindrops last night. Seems the monsoonal weather pattern is firing up some afternoon storms. Could happen again today, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Anyways, I had better get to work. Hope you all have a great day!

Ed,

It's very worthy of framing. It gets my vote for best portrait ever by a long shot. I still get chills looking at it. Those eyes....

Good evening, everyone.  Nice and hot and sticky here tonight!

Have been updated on Sarah's return to Philadelphia:  she called from the train station, and was waiting for the train
that will take her close to her house.  So she did make it back
safely.

Looks like one Crock Pot of pork chop abracadbra is all gone!!
I have put the other Crock Pot in the fridge (has the remov-
able crock) and if anyone wants any tonight, just put it on
a plate, and zap it in the microwave for 2 1/2, 3 minutes.

Hate to tell you this, Brian, but I didn't hide either the
corn on the cob, or the chocolate cake. As a matter of fact,
I've been looking for them, myself!!  I NEED A CHOCOLATE

Good morning, everyone!  Another hot, sticky morning.

Coffee is ready, and juice & lemonade are made.

Breakfast this morning:

I've put out boxes of cereal on the counter, and there
is plenty of milk in the cooler.

Q ^~^ Q  I got tired of the same old look, so had my groomer reverse it.  Probably should have kept it for St Patty's Day, but want to try it out well in advance.

Bought a new cup for my coffee, too, but having trouble getting it through the door.  It will be a great place to nap after the coffee is gone.  Maybe Joe will come in soon and pull it through the door for me.  (leave it on the floor - NLR (no lifting required)

One of those days.

Good Morning to You All,

First Off, Happy B-Day [bday] to Nance69! Hope you have a great one!

Mook, like the reversed look this morning. You should wear it more often, even if it isn't St. Patty's Day. I just went to an Irish Festival in Silver Plume on Saturday (I even had some Corned Beef and Cabbage!), so it's all good by me. BTW, Mutt looks like he's straining himself a bit with the Coffee Cup, I had better go see if an amateur photographer and a mutt can drag a kitty's coffee cup around.

Well, I had best be off. I get to head to a Pre-Con meeting down in the Springs this morning. Normally that would have been a nice mini-road trip (we don't get to the Springs too often) but Alas! we've got steel grey skies in all directions this morning. Still might take a camera with, but I doubt I'll use it.

Anyways, hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!
