Does anyone here like Speidie with their chicken? Ya have to poke the chicken about a gazillion times for it to soak in, but that vinegar with seasonings is slammin! Two days later, ready for a slow grill. Baked potatoes w/ butter, sour cream, fried onions, and bacon bits on the side.

Just came off a dinner engagement, had curry chicken(2) on rice with steamed celery and carrots . . . No this is not Lean Cuisine, it's the Mu-Qin's kitchen in Orly . . .

Due to the way we season it, this chicken is delicious warmed up. Take home some extra halves and put them in the freezer! We all do!

Those 250 halves of chicken look great, Larry. Now for question: are you

Will let you know later what is on the lunch and supper menus.

Hey, I spent half of Wednesday night seasoning the chicken, and the charcoal is starting to turn a nice gray. Barbequed chicken will be ready at 11. Coleslaw, macaroni salad, baked beans, rolls, and whatever CW makes for dessert. Beverages from the menu. Bon Appetit!

Larry, to go along with your delicious meal, dessert will be the following:

apple, blackberry and cherry cobblers ala mode.

Ok - going into the weekend on a high note! Got to sleep in pat 3:45 this morning - didn't hit the floor until 5:45! - almost 9 hours of sleep! Fur went into place nicely, Driver and I had breakfast together - a rarity and I came to work while he will spend the day doing whatever Driver's do with a day off.

But we did stop to watch trains for a few and saw a tainer train with with an SD 40 BNSF on point and a FURX SD40 going west from the south!

Saw two engines sneaking around - a Dash 9 for BNSF and....drum roll........an NREX SD50 #6811! Well, get up early and see an SD50! Not too shabby!

And - eat your hearts out - if I play my cards right and make nice, I may get to see Mudchicken and Boss Hen this weekend. I'm so excited!

Gotta go get a new dress collar!

Marty, stop that! And how's your hand?

Well, my finger will never bend again. I would just as soon have it cut off so it will be out of my way. Maybe I'll have it removed in a few years. At least I'll be getting a tidy little settlement and with that I'll be getting my first Harley Davidson. O small price to pay for a brand new Harley for free.
Oh Marty - keep the finger for hanging things on! You don't want to go through more pain with it, do you? And once you get your Harley you can use it to wave at people!

Good morning, people. Well, it's a nice RAINY morning here in Louisville
again. Getting tired of all the rain. I've even heard the snow word briefly
mentioned for next week.

Breakfast will be: sausage, biscuits and gravy, jelly to put on biscuits if
you don't want gravy. fried potatoes or hash browns (get your pick this
morning). and Cheerios and Alpha Bits. Will let you know later what is
on the lunch and supper menus.

Hope you saved me some of the ribs!

I suspect tastes in ribs may vary. My favorites are Portillo's (yes, the hot dog joint again!--but they can do tender, juicy slabs of ribs, too), and the Texan, a place that has two outlets, one of which is not too far from the tracks in Lombard.

I can't wait to see how Junc adulterates the piano for those Rube Goldberg Variations!

I'll be tied up tonight with the local fire chief's and firefighters dinner (I think they're doing turkey), but will get back to work on chicken soon. Don't remember who did the ribs - not on my menu, usually.[dinner]

It was me[:p] how about some bbq chicken too?
stay safe
Joe

Joe, some bbq chicken sounds good also!
Larry, are you all having the turkeys, (Biscuit and Gravy by name) that
President Bush pardoned?

Turns out I remembered the menu wrong. It was barbeque pork and steaks. Not too bad, but us northerners don't know how to do good barbeque (unless you go to Dinosaur Barbeque in Syracuse). Having spent time in the southeast and having enjoyed some pretty good BBQ, well.....
