Good evening everyone.

(Hauls out TEC Patio II infrared grill)

cherokee woman, use this grill to do your Fourth of July barbecue--it makes the best-cooked steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs and bratwursts you've EVER tasted. [dinner] It cooks far better than any charcoal grill, mostly because you don't have hot and cold spots that are the bane of charcoal grills. [8D]

"GOOD MORNING AMERICA ,HOW ARE YA".........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!!!

[bday][bday]

Joe;had to go back and reread your last reply,I thought you said Matt
had the Red White & Blue Caps out! (not cups) I was wondering where
mine was.[swg]

If our Weather Guessers are close;we're supposed to have a decent day, today
(albeit hot and sticky) with very good weather for the man made fireworks, and
then a very good chance to see some of Mother Nature's own brand of Fireworks!!

Sacto Guy,I'm with Dan;I'd much rather use a "charcoal"grill, just something
about flavors,tastes,etc.

Everybody have: A GREAT & SAFE 4th of July!!!!!

Hello All and

HAPPY 4th OF JULIE [:o)] [:D] [:o)]

Honey, who's Julie? [:X]

Well I did shake n bake. But the little girl never showed up to help. [B)]

I have a propane grill. I just got tired of messing with charcoal and it is so dirty too. I guess you can say the propane is the lazy man's way out. [B)] [8]

Even though today is my day off I am working. I would get 8 hours of pay even if I didn't work. Now I clock in on OVERTIME and get an additional 8 hours of OT on top of the regular holiday pay. [:D]

Well time to go.

Everyone Be EXTRA Careful Today.

Well, for anyone who's around for lunch, I've got some hot dogs and burgers on the grill, along with
the regular side dishes for picnics. Also got some chicken frying in the cast iron skillet. (MC, how
hot is it out there in Colorado?!?!)[}:)] While I'm frying the chicken, Mutt is manning the grill.

Can't say it enough today: Have a Happy 4th of July, and BE CAREFUL with the fireworks!!
(And the firewater, if so inclined!!)

Woke up at 4:00 to drive up to RMNP for sunrise. Got a couple shots I'm happy with, but nothing too spectacular. Hopefully should have them posted shortly (need to run a quick White Balance / Saturation Boost / USM application and Re-size and then upload them to PBase).

Meanwhile, I see MC is hoarding all the rain. Thus far, we've only a lot of wind and a couple sprinkles up north. The Dopplar is showing some echoes moving this way, so hopefully we can share in some of the rain.

Glen Ellyn, it's a place to enjoy the best virtual food on the net, complete in a railroad friendly environment (didn't you see the layouts on the way in?) Have a seat, and enjoy some lasagne!

PLEASE, take some of our rain. We need a submarine here on the border of NY and PA...

Welcome Back LC [:)]

You were missed. However, some thought you were already back and on the attack. [:(] I see you have posted in that thread, I have not read your reply as yet.

Man was I busy at work tonight. I think about every train on the UP system came through NLR and needed me today. [B)] I have a feeling they are running more trains now and will be running less trains on Tuesday. At least I hope that is it. I will be in the truck again on Tuesday.

There was a wreck on the interstate tonight that I could see from our yard. It reminded me of the thread I stated about not driving on certain days.

Well, it is getting bed time.

Everyone Take Care

I'm not here to attack, but I will certainly defend myself if the need arises. In the meantime I am taking some time over the holiday to drive some relief supplies around to friends who are victims of the floods back here. Worst since Hurricane Agnes in '72. Remember, Agnes took the EL into bankruptcy.

Good afternoon everybody, we had really yummy pasta and salad here last night and I just had some left-overs with sliced up bratwurst added in to make it interesting, yummy! Later the neighborhood will have its annual Fourth Of July block party and we will grill franks and burgers, etc. and sit around talking about how to fix what's wrong with the world.

Ah, Jim. You know I am retired and that means I don't get days off. Worse yet, I don't get holiday pay. So I was wondering since you're getting time and a half AND holiday pay maybe, ah well..., [;)]oh never mind. Since you have to work while the rest of us PARTEE, I guess I should be more than happy with what I have.

On duty [bow][bow]or not, hope everybody has a good time at our Independence Day Celebration.

OK - I'm awake now.

Finally - a day "off." Of course, those of us working (volunteering) for tourist don't really mind it - after all we get to play with / on trains all day... Three day of railroading (plus the two hour drive each way) deserves a break.

Of course, plenty of fireworks in the evenings - EMS bike patrol Sunday, then out on the St Lawrence in a neighboring fire department's fireboat for a front row seat last night and tonight. Only down side last night was that it sprinkled some during the fireworks, and we were downwind. The raindrops picked up smoke as they fell, said raindrops landed on me, and my house still stinks. I think I've washed everything now, so it should clear up.

Have a safe holiday, what's left with it!

Sounds REAL good to me. I will take enought for 5 people. That will be lunch and supper tonight too. [:p]

The weather today is HOT HOT HOT and the humidity is going to be high too. Since I am in the supply truck on the weekends I have to stock extra water. The train crews such drink a lot, and the yard people do too.

Tomorrow for my Monday "shack" crew I am making Shake N Bake ( . . . aaannndddd IIIIIIIIIIIII hellllllllppppppeeeeeeed [:o)] [:D] [:o)] --if you remember that line L O L ) Chicken, 3-Bean Salad, Potatoe Salad, and a multi-colored Pasta Salad. Well, Mutt is out dodging the rain drops (and downpours), manning the grill for
tonight's supper. He's grilling steaks, pork chops, burgers, brauts, hot dogs,
and sausages, and corn on the cob. Who knows, he may even be "roasting"
some marshmallows, too.

Hi all, it's been a very enjoyable four-day weekend here, and we finished it today by hosting our daughter's future in-laws for grilled Iowa chops. Beautiful day, too, but we were too tired to venture downtown for CR's annual fireworks extravaganza. Watched it on TV instead. Back to the salt mine tomorrow...[sigh]

<Swims into the Diner>

Good Morning All,

I'd like to thank all of you out east for sending the rain our way. Unfortunately it all arrived on the same day at the same time. Was out at Bandimere Speedway last night watching some bracket racing. At the end of the evening there were to be some jet cars and fireworks. Lo and behold the skies opened up and did it start pouring!

While the officials had to call off al races, they said that they would be doing fire works. Alas! My friend, his family and I were all drenched, and decided that going home and finding dry clothes would be more enjoyable than waiting an hour and a half for fireworks.

This was the first 4th in my 25 years that I actually didn't go out and watch fireworks. Oh well, we really did need the moisture (though not the flash flooding that popped up here and there). Sounds like we're in this weather pattern for at least a day or two more, as well. Now that the 4th is over, I say let it come!

Hope you all have a great, short week!

TTFN!

P.S. MC, did you get the pontoons on your pup? I see that everything we got headed down south. Heard reports about a chicken with a bar of soap out in a downpour that way... [:D]

I hope everyone had a safe Fourth. I decided to spend mine volunteering for the American Red Cross's 1st Aid Tent at the city's 4th celebration to give something back to my community. It sure was interesting. I treated two of my "Top 5" most serious injuries there: a GSW and a stabbing! The worst part was that both were children! pray that everone else had a good day.

Sorry to 'bum' people out....I had to get that off my chest. Well I better scoot...got 10hrs at work today. Be back for snacks tonite.

Dan; That was a very good thing you did,by volunteering for "work" like that.
a lot of other people wouldn't do anything like that at all.
As far as getting "things off your chest",that's the best way to deal with situations
like that, talk about them. "Seasoned People" have trouble with things like that also;especially when it comes to "kids".
The first GSW I ever treated, scared me[censored]less,I sure didn't want to be in that line of fire. I respect people who do things like you did.
