anyone want some water? we got plenty of it, lots of flooding and more rain coming. Some rivers are expected to hit their second highest flood stage ever recorded, and it's supposed to crest tomorrow afternoon and evening

Sent it out west Mikey. Today (Wednesday) there are 32 fires burning in 8 western states. I am more than sure someone there would appreciate a good 1/2 inch (or more) rain.

Shoot, forgot to mention this.

I play live trivia with a couple friends of mine every Tuesday evening at a local establishment. Last night we were tied with another team after the last question, so we went to a tie-break question (where the closest answer is the winner). The question we were asked: "In inches, what is the standard gauge for American railroads?" Ha! I almost did a lively Irish Jig! See, just another bonus of being a railfan!

Bang!

OK then....How many inches apart do the rails have to be before the wheels start falling on the ground on their own. Bonus question: How many inches apart can the rails be and still haul passengers and hazardous stuff while still being legal. (maximum & minimum)....[C):-)][C):-)][C):-)]

I remember seeing a thread once giving out that info, and I think the Class level of the track comes into play as well. Hmm... 4'-10" or 4'-11" max seems to ring a bell.

Reminds me of the story about the short line owner who was entertaining the president of a major railroad. It somehow came out that the entire shortline was slightly out of gauge, wide. The shortline owner pointed out to the class one president that his railroad wasn't as long as the class one, but it was wider.....[:D]

Supper is just about ready for tonight. Give it about 1/2 hour, and you can chow down
on Italian spaghetti w/garlic Texas Wheat Toast, and a tossed salad.

Dessert tonight: big bowls of ice cream.

The fire near Sedona got some rain yesterday ., on the already burnt part. But the rain has arrived .Tonight we get another storm . they start by Flagstaff and move to the southwest and follow I -17 south, on the eastside. Then slide down hill to Phx . then die. The 50 deg. temp is nice.
Chris>>> when I see a deserted home I wonder what the place could say if it talked, or where the folks are. Cannonball.

Good Thursday morning, everyone. Coffee is on, and the juice is ready and in the
cooler. We have a birthday to celebrate:

[bday] to Chad!! Chad, hope it's a very good day for you. To help celebrate your
birthday, this morning, we are having nice, hot cinnamon rolls, which are
just now being taken out of the oven.

Lunch today will be: roast w/potatoes, carrots & onions cooked with the roast,
green beans, and cole slaw.

Birthday cake is already out of the freezer, and thawing nicely. (NO ONE IS TO
PUT ONE FINGER OR PAW ON IT). It's just to look at, until Chad cuts the cake
later today!

Then, for supper tonight, Chad has requested PIZZA.

Everyone have a great day!!

Jim, you must not have read my post this morning: lunch is roast, taters, carrots,
etc.

And the supper menu will be pizza, because that's what our birthday boy asked
to have for his birthday. Now, all I need to know from him, is what kind of pizza
he would like tonight. Or should I make the different ones I have for Saturday
nights.

Mookie[:O] I'm surprised at you!! I know you know that "no touching" also means

Jeez Chad...do you think this is a saloon instead of the DD&CS? I suppose since it's your birthday I'll let you get away with language like that! [:P]

BTW, Hope you have a [bday]. In addition to your cake, I thought some popcorn was appropriate. Hope you have a great one!

Chad, I've got 3 extra large pepperoni/sausage/olives/jalopino pizzas just about ready.

For anyone who doesn't want a pizza with sizzling hot jalapinos on it, I've also
got the following pizzas ready to go into the oven, also:

1. cheese
2. supreme
3. pepperoni
4. sausage

They will go into the oven at 6:30 p.m.EDT.
