My sister has a Toyota hybrid and has used it for quite a while in her real estate brokerage biz. It performs as advertised pretty well. We may see a lot more of this, especially in trucks and buses. We certainly need an alternative to petrochemicals.

Larry, sorry I'm so late answering your request from earlier.

Yes, there is still potato soup and cornbread left. Go for it.

Three of the worlds greatest inventions:Super Glue,Velcro, and The Microwave.[:D]

I had to be out semi-early this morning to do several errands, and temp. was
right at 47 degrees. I just came back in from doing another set of errands,
and temp. is now 36 degrees. Plus there's about a 15-20mph wind.
No wonder we all have this crud.[xx(]

Well, if I follow the quarter pounder thinking - I do at least 4-5 of them, sans cheese. That way I have lunches for two days following. I got the recipe out of a microwave book, but figure it would work in the oven or in the skillet just as well. All you are doing is warming the soup part.

But even easier would be to just go to McBurger and get the quarter pounder. They will even do the dishes!

I never had a microwave until I married the Driver. Now I can't cook w/o one! No big leap - have never been all that much of a cook anyway. More of a can opener.

SJ--how many hamburgers? I tried a quarter-pounder with cheese, but it didn't taste very oriental.

We have a skillet recipe for "Chinese chicken" that the kids used to like (they still do). Pat and I do not own a microwave, so everything is done the long way.

We were lucky to break 40 yesterday; 30 and dropping today. I got out into the civilized world yesterday; some of the snow piles plowed up (in parking lots, etc.) are incredible.

Yeah Mookie and Joe, our temp has already dropped to 47, 48,
somewhere around there.

Mookie: Thank you for the recipe. That will be supper tonight.

Had to run to Syracuse last night - just barely beat the latest batch of snow flurries on the way home... Windy again today - nothing like over the weekend, but it's a pain nonetheless.

While I was in Syracuse my daughter and I ate at a local restaurant run by a major local turkey producer. Thanksgiving dinner any day of the week! Yumm!

Any of that potato soup left over? How about the cornbread? Think I'll have room by lunch.

Tom - it is moving stress! Kind of like chicken (yeah!) pox. You feel lousy and then break out.

CW - have a good recipe for Oriental Casserole.

hamburger
1 cup instant rice
1 cup water
1 can cream of chicken soup (there's that word again)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
soy sauce

Brown burger - and onion if you can eat it - (I can't)
add soy sauce to taste

In a microwave bowl (I use a big pyrex bowl) mix rice, h2o, and both cans of soup, then add hamburger. Mix it all up and microwave about 8 min on high.

Arrange oriental noodles on top and micro about another 2 min.

Yummmmm

I have threatened to skip the microwave and just do it all in the skillet - saves dishes. We don't eat the noodles - it is just as good and makes a good brown bag lunch for the next day w/o soggy noodles.

I know Tree cooks, so maybe this is one he doesn't have.

I like it cuz it is fast and something that can be re-warmed when the driver gets home from his karate class. I can eat early and leave the dishes for him...[}:)]

Good morning everyone! Feeling better today; but now Mutt has
started the sneezing.[:(]

Breakfast will be: turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, toast and
oatmeal. Trying not to fix so much "fattening" food so we can
all shed a pound or two.

Lunch will be tuna fish sandwiches and tater tots.

Supper: someone give me an idea, please.

Mookie: our temp is currently 50, but will start dropping
as the day goes on.

Maybe all us who are sick should congregate somewhere together
to get well. Hmmmm, where can we congregate? Not the diner,
don't want to put up a "Quarentined" sign on the door. Jim would
kill us all.
