The Saturday night pizza fest is now ready. The pizzas on the menu
tonight are:

1. supreme
2. sausage
3. cheese
4. sausage/pepperoni
5. special

P.S. Sarah, if you make it in here tonight, there's a double cheese pizza
in the oven keeping warm for you.

I have gotten my exercise today. After returning from the grocery with all the
indgredients for tonight's pizzas, I walked for one and a half hours, came home
and rested for 45 minutes, and went out walking for another hour and twenty
minutes. Really enjoyed the sunshine, and it wasn't too windy out.

So glad to see youins' made it through the nasty weather last night .Our hearts go out to the folks who lost kinfolk from the storm, there in Dixie , also to the ones who lost the homeplace . We can rember the tornado that blew away Xenia Ohio in 74. The town has never been the same . 28 folks lost then. It is a shame that some heart less news hounds called it urban renewal . How insensitive. Wow! With this all past , we think its' time for some choc. cake w/ pecan chip ice cream & hot coffee . We will hold onto the plates & cups as the 8:03 vibrates by the Diner. The best of blessings to all you fine folks in the path of nasty weather from Tenn. to New York &Wisc. Sounds like a RR Co.?? The weather here in Ariz. has been windy & light rain ., its' drifting down from the northwest . Makes the tumble weed grow ,but you dont' have to cut them , they just tumble away. Stay dry if ya'll can. Jim & Shirl.

Joe, thank you for chopping the onions and peppers for me. I was up until
after 1 a.m., this morning, and just awakened a few minutes ago. Also,
thanks for staring the coffee and making the juice. Did Mudchicken leave
and extra IV drip around? Think I need my coffee through an IV this morning.

Hope everyone enjoys the western omelettes this morning. Hope everyone
is in the Diner for Sunday Dinner today: we're having meat loaf, gravy, peas,
carrots, applesauce, and for dessert, there's two nice, big cakes: chocolate
with chopped nuts on the frosting, and a white cake with white frosting,
and there's pretty blue, pink and green decorations on it.

Threat of Spring breaking out here. Sunny, high of 59 today, forcasters are threatening 69 degrees tomorrow. Time to set out the iced tea and lemonade dispensers.

Burrrrrrr

I woke up to a chilly 42 this morning about 8 pm. Last night turned chilly before 10 pm with a strong wind. We are going to have a sunny day but with highs only in the 60s.

I had to have something hot for breakfast so I made pancakes. [:p]

Sarah, check in the fridge for your double cheese pizza. It's got your name on it.
Just put it on a plate and zap it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, and it'll
be ready for you to eat.

Fed taxes done and mailed (they owe me). State taxes will get mailed this week (I owe them, but not much).

Meatloaf leftovers hit the spot. Spent the day outside at the fire training center, watching the newbies learn the trade.

A belated welcome to you, Colin! Also, glad to have been able to meet you today in Downers Grove!

Sarah, I hope the outcome of your income taxes was better than mine (nothing that revised W4s won't cure).

As I tell my clients-You either pay your taxes sooner (enough withholding) or later (by April 17 this year). Neither is fun, but you probably wouldn't want to try to get along on an income so low that you paid no taxes.

Eight days and it is back to being gainfully retired!

Good morning, everyone! Sure hope everyone had a very good weekend.

Coffee is brewing, and the juice is made. Have your choice of orange juice,
and grape juice this morning.

Breakfast will include oatmeal, toast, apple butter, strawberry preserves, or,
you can have grape jelly. There is also sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits.

And I believe there is plenty of chocolate cake left from yesterday. Not too much
of the white cake left.

Mornin' All

Taxes are a very sore subject with me this year. I could take a nice little vacation on what I have to pay in this year. [:(!] [:(!] [:(!] To top that off the whammie is double, I owe the state too. [:0] [8] [:(!] [:(!] [:(!] So make that a nice two week vacation I could be taking.

Woke up to another chilly morning, it got down into the low 40s again. It sure is hard to know how to dress this time of year. When the sun goes down it could turn chilly and very quickly.

Can I have another IV drip please? One isn't enough as yet. [;)]

Well guess what? ? ? [?] TODAY is FRIDAY [:D] I still have to go to work tho and make it through the shift.

Welcome to Colin. I like your Metra yard photo. [:)]

If I were weathly I think today and this week would be a nice week to just take off and go ride Amtrak. Anyone want to come daydream with me on Amtrak? [:o)] I'll buy. [8D]

Everyone Take Care

...None of the choices are something to look forward to but we've found doing it early gets it out of one's thoughts and then our tax man sends the data electronically and bingo, in a very short time, if a refund is due, it arrives in one's account.

Jim, hope your "Friday" is a good one for you, and all goes well at work tonight.

Since it's still on the cool side outside, thought I'd make a big pot
of vegetable soup for lunch today. Have also made a pot of beef stew and I've
got two big pans of cornbread baking in the oven.

Ah - coffee finally did the trick! Got one eye open.

Went out this weekend and bought two pairs of tenny-runners. Clog style. And I just bet all the men on here know exactly what I am talking about!

Weather is cool to cold at nite, but will be high 70's today - and it is all headed east. No rain, no snow, no nuttin'.

BNSF not running a whole lot during the daylight hours this weekend. Saw some oddities this weekend - couple of UP engines lurking in the yard, some FURX engines and a couple of TFM and KCS. Also a lot of railfans. Had one car from SFSD - you don't know how tempted I was to walk up to the window and ask him if he had any chocolate chip cookes!

Driver kept me belted in my seat so I wouldn't!!!!!

AND - he let me drive from the south end of town all the way down to the watch site, which is west central. He only broke one ankle pushing on his "brake", strained his wrists turning his "steering wheel" and turned a funny shade of pink and white when I got a little close to a Colorado Driver (ahem!) that wanted to do 20 in the middle of the street - a busy, busy one way headed to town.

When he quit holding his breath, the only comment was that I seem to get a little close to the right side of the road! (think he was college age when he last "rode" with someone!)

I have a valid driver's license, have driven longer than the age of a lot of the people on the forum and I am a very good driver - especially if the radio is on the oldies station!

Out of energy again! Time to hit the swingie thingie....

My sneaks look like that if I don't put them all the way on.....

Lovely day today, and my day off, too! Picked up some spring planting bulbs yesterday, so nice day to go out and spread them around amongst the tulips, which are starting to get serious. Even have some croci up and bloomed! Must finally be spring!

I can identify with Driver - I'm the only one in the house, so if I go somewhere, I drive. That makes those times when I'm riding with someone a little unusual. I don't usually leave any footprints in the floorboards, though...
