Jim, definitely glad you are o.k.

Joe, thanks for the shortcakes and strawberries. Anyone who doesn't want
a slice of chocolate fudge cake can have strawberry shortcake. Heck, I might
take a small slice of the cake, and a one shortcake w/strawberries on it.

Supper tonight will be: hamburgers w/fries (also have plenty of cheese for
cheeseburgers) and if anyone wants cheese on their fries, I've got some
cheese sauce.

Yum, cheese fries!

Ok Jim, you've guilted me...I'll get out and start working on my yard...tomorrow! It's still only in the 50's here. Tomorrow will be warmer.

But I'll go work on the laundry now. That is, once I finish my cheese fries!

...Now it's bath time....Must get ready for the Pacer game...What a funk we're in with them. Don't know just what the answer will be to get us playing better. We've had a rough year and a half.....2 years ago we won 62 games and now we're just trying to make the playoffs.....

Hope everyone enjoyed the burgers tonight. I've just finished making another "snack"
for everyone: oatmeal cookies. Unfortunately, I didn't have any raisins to put in them.[:(]

Here it is just after 8:30, and it's just now getting dark outside. Luckily, don't see or
hear any kids (yard apes, rugrats) outside. Their parents must all have good common
sense, and making sure they're in the house.[swg]

Good morning, everyone. Looks like it's going to be a decent day here. High in the
mid 60s. But look out tomorrow and possibly Friday. We have a "Slight Risk" for
storms tomorrow into Friday.

Joe, send Matt on down. Imagine we could keep him occupied!

Mookie, what in tarnation are you hinting about? Inquiring minds want to know!!

Regular breakfast items are out on the warmer bar.

May I tag along? Oops, bet you're not talking that kind of "reservations." [:I][:o)]

..Very nice day under way up here....Frost this morning. To get rather decent in temps today. Lots of sunshine pouring in now and a bit of wind.
Just heard a report from Indy the wind that blew off some sections off a 35 story hi rise in down town was recorded at 100 mph...{2 nights ago}.....Reports last evening was it will take several months to get building repaired. Engineering personnel to be on scene maybe yet today to evaluate damage and what it will take to put it back together. Some reports last evening going around saying it may have to be torn down...but other info was indicating it was the outside covering and not the structural part of the building that took the damage....We'll see. A wide area is blocked off to any activity because of danger from much loose material hanging down from the building. Some businesses in near by area are suffering from it all....Repair time frame may take months.

Today's lunch menu will be: BLTs w/your choice of fries or tater chips, and
garden salad. If the temp outside warms up, we'll serve lunch on the patio.

It looks like we are off to a rocky start for spring. First the colder than normal weather, now the storms are here. They are already predicting the next round for the next few days also. [:(]

I think Mother Nature fell off her rocker and can't seem to find it again. [:o)]

Today we had a little shower around 8 am and cloudy since.

Housework is the order of business today, helpers gladly welcome. [:o)]

OK - I burbled on the gift shop closing at Rochelle, so must post it here, too.

Driver is driving me to Rochelle on May 20. I plan to sing the whole way just to keep him awake and of course, for his enjoyment!

Tina - we can't make the August/Sept date since our school will be back in session and he will be very busy - so we are going to go early and straighten all the chairs for the group to follow.

I am so excited - I may run home tonite and start packing and then live out of my suitcase for the next month and .50.

If the camera is still working by then, look for the lump not far from the diamond. Purrfect accomodations! Brother Carl will leave food out there for me. (no Driver won't stay there - he wants a lavish inside room!)

Sounds like you're going to have a great time, Mookie!

Since it is so nice today, I've started up the grill for supper tonight.
Will be grilling hot dogs, pork chops and chicken, along with some grilled
green and red peppers.

Folks, from the sound of things, the 20th is going to be a driving day for Sis and Driver. If they're up to going to Rochelle after the road trip, it would probably be late in the evening.

However, in spite of any statements to the contrary, we will not be allowing these fine people to remain trackside blobs. Sunday is going to be partially filled with a Metra trip into Chicago (the Weekend Pass will cut the fare by over 50 percent from normal), but Rochelle is a possibility for later in the day. We have other west suburban hot spots in mind, too--places that are special to me and worth sharing with special people--for some of the subsequent days.

But Rochelle is where SJ wants to spend time, in spite of the fact that there won't be a gift shop on the premises any more. So if you have times on Sunday afternoon or evening that you can make it (or if you want to come for the Metra trip into town), just let somebody know. The same applies to the first half of the following week--if someone can make it in the afternoon, for example, we'll schedule other activities around your visits. Days are getting longer, so evenings may work well, too.

(Oh, Tina--this will not exclude me from your plans, I hope!)

Good Afternoon All.,

Long time no see! I hope all is well with everyone. I've been extraordinarily busy of late here, so I apologize for my absence. We've been bidding a lot of stuff at work, so that's kept me tied up during the days. My evenings have been filled with a whole plethora of activities from the usual choir practices to new things like roller hockey games (though I think I'm going to retire from hockey...the beginner isn't really much of a beginner league...more like a league where anybody can stop by and play, even if they're Wayne Gretzky!)

My weekends have involved a lot of sports photography, and occasionally some new stuff like taking Baby Portraits (see the new sig image). I'm picking up a new telephoto lens to take with me on a shoot in May, too. I'll be headed up to Yellowstone to take some pictures of baby animals (Mid-May is apparently the best time for this). Definately looking forward to that.

So, I hope you are all well. I'll try to poke my head in a little more than I have been.

TTFN!

Chris

Madam LaMook at Rochelle! Far Out.

Brian - If I though I could get loose then, there'd be two 6'5" guys with digital Rebels there. I'm not bald yet, though. I'll just have to hold out for the fall trip.

MAY 20th...Rochelle ain't that far from Bella Vista...hmm..and then picnic in August...cool! uh, I mean hot..it will be August after all. Have calendar, must mark dates down. Will get back to everyone on picnic plan later in week.

Jim, keep those wasps (mud dawbers) on your side of the state. Gosh, I guess several of them escaped your spraying tirade and found my garage door!

Also, for anyone traveling to NW Arkansas, my 19 year old daughter just got her license! Watch out for a brunett in red suv! I am very proud of her. But deep inside I remember the second day I had my license and put my dad's 69 Charger into a ditch. No harm done and having been blessed by a wonderful patient man as a father, (miss you, dad,) he didn't even get angry; worried about me only.

I haven't seen or riden any trains lately, train buddy still far far away.

Don't forget if you are in Texas on April 29, sign up and attend the Conference for Railroad Photography and Art's next conference in College Station. It as chance to hear from some of the "big" names in railroad photography and art...

I might be able to make the spring outing for Rochelle. Maybe Carl and Mookie can work up a time table.

Carl, for August could you get the use of the UP's VIP passenger train so we can add a tour to the outing? While you're at it you might as well request the Challenger for the point.

^.....someone said omlet....I am so there!

Glad to see so many people are interested in the 20th of May - is that like Cinco de Mayo?

I am so geographically incapable (translation - DUH!) - I didn't realize states were smaller than Nebraska when you travel east. I have been across Nebraska and since you have to stop and rest the oxen and rest for the night, it only takes 9 days to get from Lincoln to North Platte. (And Kansas ain't much better!)

So I am surprised at how quickly we can get across Iowa and into Illinois.

Driver and I are both exhausted just planning this trip. I am doing the planning and he is exhausted from listening to me!

So will rest until CW gets here to make me up an om....s-o t-i-r-e-d
