Tina, I love your joke! Also love your Strawberry drink: real delicious!!
Breakfast is on the breakfast bar this morning:
turkey bacon, sausages, biscuits and gravy, grits, choice of fried
potatoes or hash browns, and scrambled eggs. Also have fruit on
the breakfast bar: apples, bananas, oranges

I'll be leaving in about an hour to get fresh produce.

Mutt, thanks for getting the coffee going, and putting out the juice.
Wish we had NJMike here, he's really good at squeezing fresh orange
juice. Mike, where are you?!

Lunch special today will be corned beef and cabbage. Will also have
fish and chips (in American, fish and fries).

Hi everyone! I am having a strawberry fruit thing blended with lots of ice and sugar. Berry refreshing. There is plenty for everyone.

I saw no trains this weekend. [sigh]

But I heard a good story on the radio. I give you the abridged version.

Golde Locks gets tired while walking in the woods. Finds house. Goes In. Find porridge on table. First one: too hot. Second one: Too Cold. Third One: Just right.

Realizes that after eating and walking all over the woods, she is tired and needs a nap.
Can't find bedrooms. Finds staircase in corner of kitchen. Climbs staircase and finds three bedrooms.

First bedroom: Bed too hard.
Second bedroom: Bed too soft.
Third Bedroom: Is shocked to find three little pigs cowering in corner of room.

Asks pigs, "What are you doing in my fairytale?"
One pig steps up and says: "Gosh Lady, get with it. This is 2005 and you are in a "2-Story" house.

Mookie, thanks for cleaning the aprons. Knew I couldn't find one around
here over the weekend. Figured you'd taken them to clean.

Supper tonight will be steak and baked potatoes. Also have some
banana pudding for dessert.

Sleep? What's that?

It's not so bad, actually. Lake Placid is a couple hours away, so a nice Saturday or Sunday trip will be a pleasant break.
I'm not buyin' that for a minute. You have your "finners" in so many things, you must have an extra hand!

Lotsa branches.

I'll pass on any pizza - had so much of the stuff at the PBS auction that it's off my diet for a month. Worked 6 nights running camera, on a 30 minutes on - 30 minutes off schedule. That leaves plenty of time for socializing and snacking, and since the 'regular' volunteers only do a 3 hour shift they bring food in twice. Of course, those of us there for 6 hours get to partake twice. Pizza is a popular donation (local businesses donate food in return for a mention on the air). It got so even hamburgers from a national chain (no free ads here!) tasted good...

Had pizza over the weekend here in the Diner. Pizza's a once a week
treat. In a diner, you don't have pizza every day. It's for special
occasions.

Tree - when do you have time to sleep?

Carl: If you don't calm down, you will "fly" over there!

Ralph: Welcome back.

CW: I put the clean aprons in the drawer. Did them with laundry this weekend.

Sounds like everyone had a good time this weekend. Lots of noise in the diner!

OK - this has been so strenuous, I need a nap....

Good morning everyone! Your cook is now in the building.
Breakfast this morning is on the light side. Turkey bacon
and oatmeal w/toast.

Today's lunch special will be tuna salad sandwiches and
ham sandwiches. Mixed fruit Jell-o for dessert.

And now the really good news - I did get the second cab ride. It's for the same section of the Adirondack Scenic as the first one (Lake Placid-Saranac Lake). I'm going to see if they'll let me use it on the Thendara run, otherwise I'll just spend all day (two runs) running out of Lake Placid. Not sure when I'll be going just yet.

Yes, there will be pictures.
