Thank you all for your support- Friday promises to be a difficult day, as Grandma was loved dearly by both her two kids, her eight grandkids, and 17 great-grandkids. I'll be hanging around until Thursday morning, when we depart for Rice Lake, WI.

The good news- I still have an appetite. One large bowl of hot chili, please. With crackers.

EDIT: SNAKE EYES!!![:D]

Brian, I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved, grandmother. GOD BLESS.....

Mike, I've been right here in Philadelphia all of your life ( My problem is I can't seem to find a b/f ).... lol, and yes I do play ice hockey, it's my favoirte sport and I grew up in a hockey town, Philly. So instead of playing basketball or football, I played street hockey. hehehehe. I haven't been out sprint car racing for a while now, since my driver got into his horrific accident last year. I don't know if he will be racing again.

CW thanks for that beef stew!!!! Loved it!!!!

Evenin' all, Just a quick "Dine and Dash",
If anyone in the Diner has RR paperwork, DVDs, etc for sale or looking to by, go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SpragueSidingRailroadBooks It is a neat site for those of us tired of the ebay hassle.
Now on to sports: NO MORE NOMAR!!!!! Yeah!!!!! Only the Cubs fans can appreciate this.. Now well have some money to spend on some good players.
Jay, quick joke. Why doesn't Madison get a professional sports team? Because then Green Bay would want one! Another one: What does Billy Graham and the Packers have in common? They can both make 60,000 people stand up and say JESUS CHRIST!! I have some others but there are younger viewers here. Sorry, as a minor league Bears fan ( a Cubs fan has to do something in the winter besides play with trains) I have to yell across the northern border on occasion to have fun. Feel free to yell back.
Now on to the rest of the news. Have 2 wrestling meets this week and family holiday meal on thursday night. We have one for all the kids and their kids early. That way they don't have to rush on Christmas morning to make celebrations at both sets of parents.
And that way they don't have to eat 2 huge meals in on day. Expecting a large turnout of grandkids to operate "The Rock" upstairs Thursday night.
Nothing other to report from the sandbar other than COLD,COLD,COLD. "Arthur" says
4 below here at 9 pm. Thank god for Mama's hot flashes. It saves on the electric blanket energy bills! It's like having hot bricks in the bed all night long. ( Only the oldsters will understand that one)

Well, till next time stay warm and keep the coffee pot on! Willy

The coffee is ready; hot chocolate/cocoa is ready, as is the juice (orange/tangerine)

Breakfast this morning: (In celebration of Coburn35's birthday:

pancakes, syrup, sausage, and turkey bacon.

The birthday cake is thawed, and is no long frozen, or cold. We'll have
the birthday cake at lunch today.

Lunch will be: cream of brocolli soup, tomato soup, cream of mushroom
soup, and grilled cheese sandwiches, along with leftover chilli from
supper last night.

I sure hope that hardly anyone comes out for Produce this morning: it's
only 16 degrees F. here, with a wind chill of 8 or 9 degrees F.

Is that a pawprint in the chocolate cake?????

Just a few miles south of us they got upwards of 2 feet of snow over the weekend and Monday. Sun was out for part of the day at my house, although the wind kicked up and blew the loose stuff around. Real pain on the roads as an inch or two will pick you right up and stick you in the ditch, and the drifts are spotty - you never know when you will find one...

Not all that cold here, but the weather forecasts are calling for snow all week.

Hmmmm. Leftover chili sounds really good....

Okay, Joe: I think we can trust Matt to watch the birthday cake.

Hmmm, wonder where the Mookster is this morning. Will have
to go check the hammock, since Walt installed the warmer on it
for her. Maybe that's where she is this morning.

(Slam!) I am here! Fur little short this morning - had to spend extra time brushing it just right! (and had to "clean" something that accidently got on my paws.) Had to throw a perfectly good french fry or two to get small Matt to move across the room.....

Hear we have a birthday - Happy BD to Coburn35 and a romance - but the romance is doomed to fail - Texas would never make it north of Mizzeri. Sarah will have to find someone a little farther north than Mizzeri.

I brought in a small motor for the hammock! Now need one of you nice hunks- sorry, gentlemen to install it for me. I want to automatically swing - gently! None of this hang on and rock!

Willy - when the hot flashes stop - everything suddenly goes to "turn the blanket up to 15". I used to melt igloos - now can't find enough blankets. Ain't life fun?!

See some food that needs my personal attention......

Willy-keep 'em coming. Packer fans need to get a sense of humor. Beside that, they have had a pretty good run with Favre. Sometimes fans can get very spoiled. For my money, being a Cubs fan is a real character builder.

We have a genuine heat wave going. Temps stayed above zero all night and we are now a little above +10 now. Just now the furnace turned off. Sure hope it didn't just break. Guess not-the computer didn't freeze up.

Christmas stuff will be finished today. Think I will take the lap-top and several blankets to the easy chair and alternate between hybernating, checking the forum and watching the occasional show on the History Channel-at least until Saturday.

Stay warm.

Coburn35 [bday]

Moo,hope you brought in a cam and "rocker" arm to go with that motor.
When I put the "heating elements" on the hammock,I was attempting
to do that for you,but instead of a "rocking motion";all I was getting
was a slow speed turning............sort of like a "rotisserie" on a barbecue grill.[}:)][swg]

Happy birthday, Coborn35!

Morning/afternoon everyone....

Willy, I heard the score at 10pm lunch last night and just laughed.... Now serving, BBQ Packers, no waiting...... At least my prediction of a rebuilding year is coming true, although at this rate, we might as well yank out all the problems and replace everything!!

Stayed above zero here last night, had another smoker start at work again, The times we had to go outside to grab supplies were made very quick, though it's hard to hustle on a sheet of ice. Yard driver was complaining about it last night, took him forever to get stuff moved around.

Coborn 35, happy birthday, old enough to drink yet? If so, don't get plastered. (I know, CW, there's no alcohol here!)

Hmm..... Let's sample the five alarm chili......

WHUMP!!

<cough, cough> Perfect! (tears running down face)

I'll take a bowl...

Happy Birthday Max [:D] [8D] [:D]

[bday] [bday] [bday] [bday] [bday]

[C=:-)] [4:-)] [oX)] [D)] [dinner] [C):-)]

I hope your birthday was a good one. [:D] [8D] [:D]

And how is everybody else doing tonight? Well, I hope. [:)] We got some sad news Monday night at the beginning of our shift. One of my coworkers was killed Sunday night on the way home from work. A drunk driver on the wrong side of the road hit him head on. Another one of my coworkers was there just a few minutes after the accident happened and he said he could not even tell who it was. Very sad, but it definately shows us that we never know when or where our time will come. I hope we are all ready in more ways than one.

Our temps are a little warmer now that last time I was in. I certainly am glad of that. I am not a cold weather person. [B)]

Well I am off to see what else is going on. Everyone take care and remember the real reason for the season.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Jim, glad you are doing all right. Mutt and I are very sorry to hear about your
coworker. Our prayers will be with his family, friends, and coworkers.

Like you, our temps tomorrow are to start warming up. Supposedly by
Christmas Day, we may see temps in the upper 40s, low 50s.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

<cough, cough> Oh yeah!! <cough> Decided to grab another big bowl of <cough> five alarm chili. Need something to clean out my <cough> sinuses.

Had an interesting one in the shop today, they brought in a UPS trailer that needed to be re-roofed. The trailer was not leveled when it was roofed, and it twisted the trailer enough to lift the driver side spring pad OFF THE SPRING.

A supervisor had said they had one that twisted so bad a few years ago that it lifted the tires off the ground on one side. I guess those aluminum roof sheets are pretty strong.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone! Randy, glad you enjoyed the chilli.

Breakfast this morning: If you don't want sausage, biscuits & gravy with
scrambled eggs, how about a nice toasted BLT? Thought that might
make a nice change for a midweek breakfast.
