Funny you should mention that, Larry, my parents farm has a curve like that, about once a year we get someone who misses the curve and flies (literally) into the pasture. The last one I guess required the services of the local police, fire, and EMT people, guess the landing was a bit hard. Usually they come up to the barn or house and sheepishly request a tow out of the pasture because they got stuck in the mud. I don't remember if we charge for fixing the fence, though.

have a safe party tonight.there is a road down by my friends house. it has a stop sign at the bottom of the hill.sometimes people slide through the sign and into a ditch across the road(crunch!).I will be surrounded by candy tonight as we make treat bags for our kids at church.

Maybe some day I'll request one, as it would make a great conversation piece in my office, but in some respects I'm kinda lazy- when I want to know the time, I don't want to have to translate it in my head. And the better half wouldn't appreciate it, either. It would be an excellent choice for my son to give me, as thinkgeek is his favorite shopping site![^]

My favorite clock is one of those digital Atomic wall clocks- they run on batteries, get synched via a radio signal every night, never need adjusting for Standard/Daylight, and have a remote sensor for outdoor temperature!

One young lady slid off the same curve in the opposite direction and managed to slip between a pole and its guy wire.... Lucky.

Evening/morning everyone, would have been in earlier, but got involved with an ethanol-gas-diesel debate on a forum in Madison, of which I had to give my nickel's worth (too much to charge just two cents!!).

Thanks for the fish, CW, as always, I appreciate it. Noticed the sink was getting a touch full, so rolled up the sleeves and did dishes again.

It would go right along with my variety of time pieces in this home office....which date from early 20th cent. {regulator}, to latest radio controlled piece....I'm no binary expert but it doesn't look very difficult to me to tell time with it.....

Good morning, all!! Still a bit sleepy this morning, but will try to get things
going in here. Have holiday music playing, and will be getting busy in
here, working on the pizzas for tonight. Joe, thank you for the bear claws.
They really hit the spot this morning.

Randy, thank you for doing dishes. Know the dishwasher is empty, so
someone must have sneaked in, ate a bunch, and decided to just leave
the dirty dishes in the sink, instead of putting them in the dishwasher.
Guess I'd better call Jim, and have him bring Duchess in for "overnight
guard duty"!!

Lunch today: nice hot beef vegetable soup, or cream of brocolli soup,
with grilled cheese sandwiches or PB&J sandwiches to go with
the soup.

Everyone have a great day, whatever you will be doing/ or wherever
you go today. But be sure you're back here at 7 p.m. EST for the
Saturday Pizza Fest.

Whew, busy morning here- finally had time to pop in. Been over at the church lending my tenor voice to our awesome choir, rehearsing our Christmas Cantata for tomorrow's services. It promises to be a wonderful performance, as our director has obtained the services of several members of the Cedar Rapids Symphony to accompany us.

I'll have a light lunch, please- I'll take the half of the PB&J that Carl didn't want (jelly only). I'll be back for pizza tonight, and by the looks of things, I may have something to celebrate (see my post count).

...Yes....Gauntlet....That's the word. I too remember a few years ago of that mishap up on the South Shore....Wasn't that a coincidence...All the double track running and then the two cars..{Trains}, met at the squeeze point.

AS long as you didn't get into a debate about which is better gas or diesel. Oh man have I gotten into many debates over that one. Now I tend to keep my mouth shut, or I will point out disadvantages and advantages of both.

Well I got woken up at 6 am by guess who??? ASPLUNH.....they decided that one of our trees needed to be pruned well, it turns out that they really messed up my good climbing tree. It's a Eastern White Pine, I'm a bit ticked off at that. Also, Asplunh decided to make a whole bunch of noise at 6am on a Saturday morning w/o leting us know ahead of time that they were comming. They were working right outside my wondow. OH man I was ticked. It was then and there that I wished I had double pane, sound proof glass. The works were also very rude. I think my attitude about Asplunh is going to change very soon.
