Mookie, how about submitting it to both?!?! Mookie, hope you had a good
weekend, otherwise.

All we're getting this morning is a light rain. Just over the river in Indiana,
a lot of the schools are either closed, or opening two hours late.

Breakfast this morning: sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, or
oatmeal & toast.

Just regular lunch menu items today, unless I can think of a special.

OK, now that I'm back up off the floor from laughing....

Mother Nature slipped another inch of dihydrogen monoxide (solid state) in after I checked in during the night. At least I didn't have to clear it to get out of the driveway. And it is supposed to get chilly tonight - forecast = zero. Mookie - we'll take some of that warm stuff, but with current weather patterns, I doubt we'll see it. Just more cold and snow.

The outside sports enthusiasts are loving it, though! I really don't mind all that much, either...

SJ, you need to aim higher with those withier systems. We aren't supposed to get above freezing all week. They did include a possibility of freezing rain for tomorrow or Wednesday, though.

"Withier"--worst spell of "weather" I've seen in a long time!

SJ, it's too bad you couldn't get a video of that inter-bathroom communication!

Seriously, I'm worried--no telling what your neighbors might send through to you before they leave, now that this little secret is out. However, I'll bet that they somehow are the cause of the problem to begin with.

Joe, thanks for the idea of subs. I've been working making them up,
and I THINK I have enough made up, that we can have them for
supper tonight.

So, along with the regular lunch menu, the specials today will be:

1. roast beef subs
2. Philly steak & cheese subs

All right, Ed: there's no need to gloat about your warm temps. Just send
them up this way, please!!

For supper tonight, I have made some more Philly steak and cheese subs,
and we'll have something new from White Castle: French fried onion chips
to go with the subs (found them at the grocery the other day).

Evening - I hope all is well! Just stopped in to say hi.

I'm sure this has come up before (forgive me), but why no mention of Gunn in the lastest issue of Trains? No Stop the presses?

Tom

Don't know for sure, but I think the news feature deadline is almost a month before an issue hits the street. I am pretty sure the next issue is going to have coverage on the subject.

And hey, if you don't have a chance to get back here, Merry Christmas.

Ms. Moo: So much for landlord getting his damage deposit $$$$$ back? [(-D][(-D][(-D]

Copcar: Grinder was at Orchard Ave & I-25 on Saturday morning (still on RTD)

Whilst out here freezing the dirty tailfeathers off since Saturday, saw long lost cousin "bamboo peacock" on a motorcar trailer in Glenwood Springs sitting forlornly in the backtracks of the wye. We may make it out of here before the snow flys on Thursday. So cold here that snow that covered the rail looks like white iron filings on a magnet. Encountered a mule deer with an attitude problem on Sunday morning at MP 377 in the Roaring Fork Gorge. (Fortunately the local mountain sheep had not taught them their ba-aaaad habbits.)

Fire-up the hot cider please?

Mudchicken, have plenty of hot cider for you (and anyone else who wants
some hot cider).

Well, guess I'll get back to do the Produce this morning. Didn't do it last
week, since I wasn't feeling too well. So breakfast is set out on the warmer
bar: biscuits, gravy, sausage, turkey bacon, country ham & redeye gravy,
and fried taters. See you all later.

For anyone wanting to extend some sympathy - Colorado had the nation's low - (I can't do this since I use too many dashes when I talk - ) it was 17 below somewhere in MC's territory. That's cold folks! Hear MC is ordering more feathers from Cabelas!

We have reports that there may be a stray mountain lion around the city. We have enough wildlife when school is in session - one more won't be noticed.

Quiet on home front - wonder what they are plotting!

CW - want me to fix some porcupine meatballs for supper? They are fun to bat around before you fry them.....

Well, it wasn't official, but my weather station quit recording temps at 2 am and that was at 22 below. Other thermometers around the house were showing around 15 below, so the weather station sensor might be off a bit. Or not. Worst part is that they were only forecasting zero to 5 above...

Hot Food! Please!

...Wow, some of you folk are reporting the real cold stuff....Cold that we here in Indiana are capable of in mostly January...but so far this season none of that. Coldest I've seen registered on my indoor / outdoor instrument has been 11 above....We've been below normal by far for over two weeks now but none of that zero and below stuff....
It can get that cold here, for sure....Back in 1994 when we were in Florida the temp reached 38 below here in our area....Glad we missed it. It seems we might be climbing out of our below normal stuff slowy here now...sure hope so. Have had a lot of low 20's for highs when the norm is still about 40....not too good.

Afternoon everyone....

MC, you can keep the cold out there in CO, I've had enough smoker starts at work for a while, thank you very much!!

NWS in Milwaukee/Sullivan has had a winter storm watch out for our area since about 3 this morning for tomorrow, they're predicting 4-6 inches, with locally heavier amounts. At least they took the freezing rain/sleet out of the forcast. I'm thinking I'll have to stop at the fuel rack next to the diner and top the tank off on the way home from work tonite.

CW, the birthday cherry pie was delicious, cleaned up one pie and did dishes again last night when I got home from work last night.

Have a good day, and get out the plows!!

Mookie, porcupine meat balls sounds good! What shall we have with them?

After I finished with the Produce this morning (we had 78 customers this
morning!), got on the bus and went to Kroger to do some shopping.
They had a good deal on the big bags of Lays potato chips: 3 for $5, and
they had Planter's Nuts, 2 for $5, and the Red Baron Twin pizzas 2 for $6.
Also got us some more chicken, and a Betty Crocker Chicken Helper, the
chicken fried rice one.

We are currently at 37 degrees F. at 2:16. No wind blowing, so is comfortable
outside. But our forecast for late tomorrow through Thursday, is just about
the same as Quentin's up in Muncie. Guess we'll just have to see if the
predictions hold.

It's above freezing, but raining and temp is dropping.

I am heading for home, but - for dinner - maybe a side dish of - watergate or mandarin orange salad and a tossed salad for those that like less sweet. Corn on the cob for a veggie and hot rolls.... drool.....

I was going to come in earlier, but was waylaid as I got into the door, and taken to do payday errands and some shopping. Successful with most of it; the checkbook is depleted.

We're just under a "snow advisory" for tomorrow, calling for "moderate snow at times", with three to five inches of accumulation likely. I have to go out to a meeting tomorrow, but will not have to actually work until Thursday.

I remember from my youth hearing the same two names almost incessantly as having the coldest temperatures in the nation: Pellston, Michigan; and Fraser, Colorado.

When Sarah drops in today, she will have finished with her exams for this term. Lucky kid is on a break until 2006 now.
