CSXguy......I'm amazed to hear a class is taking the train to Washington, D C....My high school class did that 56 years ago and I was in 7th heaven too......Item: I still have the menu from the dining car that was made special for our "Stoystown High School".....class....from the Pennsylvania RR.....Enjoy....I sure did. {From Johnstown, Pa.}....

Well, espeefoamer, they say we had a good lightning show and thunder sometime
between midnight and five a.m., but I never saw or heard anything. Slept straight
through from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. this morning. Did see a few sprinkles this morning
while signing in people, and waiting for the Produce truck.

Greetings, all. Some of you may know me from the MR discussion boards. I am CSXguy.

My class is taking a trip to Washington DC on Amtrak. 14 hours on a train. The ultimate heaven! I live in metro Atlanta, and that's far from DC. A lot of my classmates are compalining about how long it will be, but you know I'm not! Anyway, nothing much has gone on lately. Been busy with school and such, so I had to go on hiatus for a while, but i'm back.

That's real good Jay;maybe we can use that and standardize the menu.

I Grew up with basicly just breakfast,lunch & supper; to me Dinner was
sort of a very "fancy" affair,whether or not it was during the day,or in the
evening. And usually more "dress up" than the others. [sigh]

JDV5th, Yes I agree with you also the Patriots don't need another ring. I'm going to be annoyed if they do get another one. This is almost making me want to see the Cowboys and Emmit Smith (spelling) come back and start a wining streak again.

Well, I didn' t do too much today except for wait around the house all day for the applience people to drop off a new fridge. Well, they came and I had to stock the new firdge shelves with new food. Then I had to take out the trash and recycle. Then I cleaned up a bit in the house. I'm glad I'm done that!!!!!!!!

Well, my brother puts Hot Sauce on practically everything he eats: from scrambled
eggs, to whatever. Although, I have yet to see him put hot sauce on any kind of
dessert. So guess that's where he draws the line of using hot sauce.

"Lunch" today will be sandwiches: grilled cheese, ham & cheese, bologna,
bp&j, hamburgers, hotdogs, etc.

Supper tonight: leftover spaghetti.

Lunch/dinner & dinner/supper tomorrow: roast beef, potatoes, carrots and
onions w/green beans and cornbread.

Tabasco sauce is something I stay away from (my new son-in-law practically drinks the stuff--if the wildfires get bad in California north around Santa Clarita, you'll know why!). Wife puts ketchup on scrambled eggs at times; I suppose Sweet Baby Ray's would work as well...

Barbecue was good yesterday, and I'm ready for more. Haven't had a breakfast barbecue yet, but it might be interesting to devise.

My favorite? something I can sink my teeth into, with a sauce that brings tears to my eyes! Not hot, mind you--just spicy. Our local eatery brews its own sauces--taste great, but they're kind of thin. Not the greatest for dipping fries in.

The sauce has to hold spaghetti together for me, too. Haven't tried barbecued spaghetti yet.

I've always considered "dinner" as a big meal taken either at mid-day, or in the evening. For that matter, while lunch is definitely a mid-day meal, we almost always ate "dinner" later - 1 or 2 pm. Supper and dinner do get used interchangeably many times.

My wife and I have had this continuing debate over the years over the definition of "dinner" and "supper". I have no doubt over how they're defined, and it lines up with your explanation. Dinner is defined as the big meal of the day, and can occur at noon or in the evening. Supper is defined as a large evening meal.
