Good Friday morning everyone: hope all are well, today.

Mookie, I TOLD everyone to NOT throw popcorn all over
the place!!

Breakfast: bacon, tomatoes, toast (yeah, if you want a BLT for breakfast,
I've got all the ingredients), cereal.

Lunch and supper: fried fish, fries, hushpuppes, cole slaw.

Must explain a remark I made - armed with a heavy back scratcher and a bottle of shampoo - was not to take a bath as alluded to by Joe..... You can use the back scratcher as a weapon and the shampoo is good to squirt - preferable to the eyes.

And - have the driver stand behind you in case this doesn't work.

This is going nowhere, so will just slink off and find some coffee...

Hey everyone! Been quite a day here. It's been very warm, and for tomorrow to be
the first whole day of autumn, we're to have a high of 89, 90 degrees. I'm still hoping
for cooler weather!! Guess maybe we'll start seeing cooler daytime
temps in the next couple of weeks, hopefully.

There's a big, huge pot of popcorn ready, if anyone would like some.

Tree.....Yes the era I was mentioning of being out on 66 was 69 -71....and specifically from Kingman west....down through "perfume pass" and then when down on desert floor....swing off to the right and on the "old" 66 route and up over the pass...{can't remember the name}, and through Oatman and Goldroad, and on down to Topock...and with trucks...! That was some route straight down off cliffs along the side if a mistake would have been made and dry and super hot....{yea I know it's dry heat}, but it was fun......

I think I've driven most of the route of Route 66, although by the 70's, when I was on the road, a lot of it was Interstates. There were parts, though, that were either still the old two lane, or used the two lane for one direction of the interstate. It is, indeed, and interesting ride.

Even though we've found out they might not have been as innocent as we thought, a trip back to the innocent 50's, and early 60's can be refreshing - anybody for a yellow polka dot bikini?

I'm with you Modelcar. Sure, some of it may have been "cheesy" happy, but it was still happy. Compared to my contemporaries, who listen to stuff that generally praises murder, rape, and generally all things dark, a little happy 50's music is sometimes a nice effort at trying to relive the halcyon days of America, and Americana.
