Espeefoamer & Brian, hope you enjoyed the spaghetti. And the leftovers will
taste even better tomorrow: spaghetti's like homemade soups and stews: they
taste even better on the second and third days (when you have that much made
up in advance).

Good Monday morning everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend; now,
though, it's time to get back to the ole weekday routine.

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage patties or links, whichever
you prefer, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal & toast, or, if you prefer, cereals like:
Corn Flakes, Cheerios, Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles, etc.And if you're not
too hungry this morning, about about toast & coffee/hot tea?

Just coffee this morning - sprang out of bed at 2:50 - an hour before the alarm.

Driver asked me if I was ok - said fine. Wondered why I was up so early -

Well, I was done sleeping! On to other things!

(Actually, I was writing a tidbit for the forum in my head - and that always wakes me up. )

Gotta go get the bugle for wakin' up the rest of the forum!

To win but anywho have a good day and I'll be talkin to you all later.

Not so fast packer fan. Whoops, was that the Browns that won? Don't feel too bad, most of Michigan is about to run Joey Harrington out of town. Lions were just pathetic yesterday! Good thing we've got other interest to distract us from football woes.

Anything barbecued for lunch?

JDV, I see you live in Grand Rapids! My wife grew up there, I grew up in Grand Haven, and we met each other halfway (in GVSC, as it was known then). If "V" is the initial of your surname, I'm betting that the next two letters are either "an" or "er"! (wife's maiden name ends in "ma"!)

Did I hear the word spaghetti mentioned? I could be inspired to song with such dishes:

Ohhhhhhhhhh...

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie....that's amore!

or is it...

When you swim up the creek and an eel bites your cheek, that's a moray!

[:P][:P][:P]

Anyways, mark me down for a big plate of pasghetti, and a couple pieces of garlic bread please!

Spagetti? Sounds great, but has to be for dinner, not lunch. Too heavy.
Any interesting water cooler trivia or events this weekend?

Well once again the Eagles had another great victory over the 49ers yesterday. I'm sorry but the 49ers really did terrible they didn't even score a touchdown the final score 3 to 42. I'm beginging to worry about their season. They have only won one game so far. I think the problem with the 49ers quarterback ( don't know his name) was that he was throwing too many of what I like to call interception passes. I was also thrilled to learn that Carolina beat the Patriots!! Thank goodness because the Patriots don't need to get another Superbowl title.

I heard something about Spagetti (spelling) are we haveing some tonight? If so count me in!! I actually thought that was what we had last night.

Randy, thanks for the clarification on Sweet Corn verses Feild Corn <blushes> I'm from the city wouldn't and don't know too much about farming.

There was plenty of spaghetti for lunch, and there's still plenty for supper
tonight.

Carl, what kind of barbeque do you want? The shredded kind on a bun, or
some other meat with barbeque sauce dripping off it? Either way, there is
both: along with spaghetti and garlic toast.

Sarah, I did make the spaghetti last night. But I made a biiiiig pot, so we
can have it for several days, along with whatever else is fixed. So you
can have more spaghetti tonight, if you want some. O.K[?]

Um, that would be Tim Rattay throwing those passes. Actually, the 49ers have only played 2 games, and for them to be 1 and 1 after 2 games is pretty good. They aren't expected to do very well this year. Although, I love anyone to beat the Eagles. That darn team from Washington beat my Cowboys last night, in the lasst few minutes of the game. Urrrgh! I'll take some strong coffee.
I like the Patriots, but you're right, they don't need another ring. They'll run out of fingers before long. I wouldn't mind seeing the Colts knock them off. (or the Lions, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa). Sorry about that humor.

I am going to make my bib a permanent outfit!

Chris - that's terrible!

JDV - we must have a terminology lesson. I was taught that breakfast is breakfast; lunch is what ladies with money "do"; otherwise if you work in the fields all day or do major manual labor - you do dinner at noon - since that should be your big meal. Then if you are in a tux - you do dinner at 8 and if you are afore mentioned laborer/farmer, you do supper.

Translation - That leaves Breakfast 1 and 2, lunch/dinner, dinner/supper and don't forget all snacks - oh my - I think I am in love!

My wife and I have had this continuing debate over the years over the definition of "dinner" and "supper". I have no doubt over how they're defined, and it lines up with your explanation. Dinner is defined as the big meal of the day, and can occur at noon or in the evening. Supper is defined as a large evening meal.

I've always considered "dinner" as a big meal taken either at mid-day, or in the evening. For that matter, while lunch is definitely a mid-day meal, we almost always ate "dinner" later - 1 or 2 pm. Supper and dinner do get used interchangeably many times.

How about standardizing the meal names.

1. Morning Meal
2. Midday Meal
3. Evening Meal
4. Full Meals anyother time of the day: Beans.
5. Anything in between: Snacks

Yup, got it. I typically use supper for the evening meal, but I must use the word lunch, as I am surrounded by 11 year olds. If I say dinner, they'll either expect to go home or expect me to break out a roast with mashed potatoes.[dinner]
You say potatoes, I say potahtos?

Much to the consternation of his older brother who is a diehard Packers fan, stepson Matt is a Cowboys fan. Guess who was still grumbling about last night's game as he left for school?

I shouldn't need it. The problem is I got into it even deeper with fantasy football. Now I'm in up to my neck. That's alright. Other hobbies and interests keep things balanced.

Barbecue was good yesterday, and I'm ready for more. Haven't had a breakfast barbecue yet, but it might be interesting to devise.

My favorite? something I can sink my teeth into, with a sauce that brings tears to my eyes! Not hot, mind you--just spicy. Our local eatery brews its own sauces--taste great, but they're kind of thin. Not the greatest for dipping fries in.

The sauce has to hold spaghetti together for me, too. Haven't tried barbecued spaghetti yet.

How bout barbequed eggs? I've heard of people putting tobasco on them. That'd go with the home fries too! What do you think?[dinner]
