Carl-Nearest I think was when the Metra Line to Fox Lake crosses the C&NW West Line at Western Av. If my bug spread that far, everybody else is looking at a bad day or two. I still have symptoms, but not feeling quite as crummy.

CW-That's OK on the anchovies, I'll bring my own and put them on the pizza when your'e not looking.

Good Sunday morning everyone!

Carl, hope you're feeling better today. How about I fix you a nice bowl of chicken
soup, and maybe a grilled cheese sandwich? And Carl, along with the diet 7Up,
I also have your diet Mountain Dew.

Jay, so glad to hear that you are on the mend.

For everyone else, Sunday brunch will be: turkey bacon, sausage links & patties
(yes, went to the store yesterday), biscuits and gravy, and especially for Jim, we
have some nice, cold watermelon. Also have OJ & OJ w/tangerine
juice.

BTW, we finally got some rain last night/this morning (since it was right
around midnight here). According to local news station, we got anywhere from
1/2 to 2 inches, depending on the area where you live. Need to go out and pick
up the recycling bins, and close the lid on the garbage can. Did have some winds
that were anywhere between 40 and 60 mph for a little bit.

Queasy stomach was still in evidence, but I think some of that OJ/TJ would be nice for it, along with my usual cold cereal.

Sorry, guys--7-Up is one of my un-favorites (turning around one of their ads). Not sure I've had the diet variety, but was very intolerant of the regular stuff.

Worse news--along with me, my bike is down in the dumps. I'll be taking it into the shop today for some "tweaking" and possible replacement of vital parts. That means that on my upcoming extended weekend in Michigan I'll be completely at the mercy of the gasoline dealers.

If I'm up to going, of course.

Sorry to sound like such a mope today; I'm really not feeling as bad as all that, at the moment. However, I do have to go to work yet today (which means changing out of shorts and into jeans and work boots), and expect that experience alone to fini***he job.

Man, it reached 105 yesterday, that was horrible. And school shopping on top of that, absolute torture...

Brunch sounds good to me, I'm starving...

Supper tonight will be: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and lima beans.
Dessert will be: peach cobbler w/ice cream. Then, if anyone has any room
left, we'll have some watermelon and watch the sun go down.

Joe, tell Mama "Thank you" for making muffins. Looks like they really went
over big today.

Well, we got some more rain about an hour and a half ago. Rained pretty
good, kind of heavy, for about a1/2, 3/4 of an hour. Haven't gone out though,
to check the rain guage.

I'm sorry to say that we watched most of the Reds/Brewers game this
afternoon. No wonder they lost: we actually had a chance to watch a game,
and what do they do, but lose it. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

That's ok, CW, the game on Saturday was the complete opposite, we were getting PO'ed at the Brewers for the way they were playing.

Had a family picnic today, got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, learned my cousin was pregnant and getting married in a month.

Won't be raiding the fridge tonight due to the picnic, we had great food today. Catch y'all tomorrow.

Wow! Back just in time to see sick call, summer hanging on and not a lot of happy talk!

Well.....Carpet down. It is wonderful! Made the duplex look a lot bigger. Maybe it was all the "items" we got rid of that helped?

Got to do a little train watching. Talked to a guy that watches with us most of the time - he said yesterday before we got there, he saw 25 trains go through. Nothing after we arrived. Think there is a pattern developing here and I have two time segments down that I am going to try out.

East of Nebraska - we had highs in the 70's on Sat and Sun and little rain on Friday, more on Sat. Headed east....so enjoy.

Now I need to head for the hammock since I am tired reading 3 days of postings.

Do Not Disturb (except for food)

Jim, thank you so much for getting the juice and coffee ready! Always enjoy
a helping hand around here.

Mookie, glad the new carpet is down. That's always a headache, getting
everything moved out of the way, to put down.

Breakfast this morning: everything on the breakfast menu, from bacon to
watermelon.

Since no one's come in since Jim, Mookie and me this morning, if anyone's
interested, there are cold cut sandwiches made up and in the cooler, and
potato chips on the rack on the counter.

Will check back around 3:30, and will let you know (if anyone has been in)
what the supper menu will be.

I'm thinking about launching a lawsuit against the makers of TAG body spray. If you have seen the commercials, a spray of this and all kinds of women come on to the guy including women tackling the guy in drug store.

Well, I was in Shopper's Drug Mart getting some shampoo and saw some of it on the shelf as a tester. Near by were some very hot blondes. So I said "why not"? Spray some on but nothing happened. What gives? False advertising I figured.

On the other hand, a rather "large" woman was near by so probably a good thing it didn't work or I would be in the hospital right now with broken bones and internal injuries.[(-D][(-D][:-^]

Good rainy Tuesday morning, folks! We are finally getting some much needed
rain. About time, too. Although, it is the first day of school here.

The juice is made, coffee ready, and a surprise for breakfast this morning:
breakfast burritos (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, onion, tomato, cheese
all rolled up and ready to eat.

Imagine the Produce line will be on the smaller scale today; but we'll see
what kind of produce I can get for us today.

CW - you are getting that nice rain we got on Saturday. It wasn't a torrent, but it was most welcome!

We are warming back up again - it is still summer.

Grabbing a bagel and off to the hammock to contemplate my day and check my eyelids for holes.

Oh yes, Dusty the Chicken is on sabbatical this week. Eatin' beans and partying!

You really need to improve your diet and eat here more often. Bet after 6 weeks here, you could get medical leave to Jenny Craig!

Need to go get my nails done in your honor......

CW....Just saw the comment on the cold cuts sandwiches.....Sounds good to me for a change...and Jen you are confirming what we are being told....That is, the heat is on it's way back to us and probably coming from your direction.
Mark W H....Sure hope you can stay away from those incoming rounds...and stay safe....I've heard them coming at one many years ago and it wasn't fun, but I'm still here....

Hey Mookie [8D]

Forget J G, I will be glad to donate 10 pounds to him. [;)] (wish I really could) [;)]

A few other forum members could use 10, I would also be glad to donate them some too. [:o)] I could do that about 4 times, and drop about 3 jean sizes. That way, I too could be skinny. [:o)] [;)] [:p]

Well I am back on second shift now. Who knows for how long though, but it will be an enjoyable 2 weeks. I wouldn't mind holding this job for a while, but we will see.

I have a nice watermellon I am going to cut into chunks and take to work. I am also going to fix a nice chef's salad. Lunch for me today will be hot dogs. Come to think of it, lunch sounds good about right now.

Didn't have too many people for Produce Giveaway this morning: it was
pouring rain! (Think I saw several cats and dogs coming down
with the rain). Got fresh pineapple, green beans, oranges, and corn
on the cob
.

Have fixed the pineapple, and have it cooling for anyone who wants some
fresh pineapple to eat. (And if you like cottage cheese, you can have some
of that to go with your pineapple.

Lunch special today is: corned beef hash and cabbage, spinach
and deviled eggs.

Mark so glad to see you in the Diner!! Now, where's the Mrs.?!?!

Our total rainfall in our rain guage after the rain quit this morning:
just under 2 inches.
