So how has life been treating all of the diner patrons? Are you all well? I've been taking a couple sojourns around my fair state, and enjoying quite the plethora of wildflowers this year. Had to bring this one digitally to the diner for everyone:



This past trip took me up to Dotsero, but I failed to see any rail-related traffic.

At any rate, hope you are all well, and I look forward to hanging around here a little bit, though I am headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park this weekend.

Wow, I psoted not that long agfao, and My post is already at the bottom of the dirty laundry pile- not saying this is a dirty laundry pile- this is a great place- I otta copyright this thread and make you all pay somehting to post in it-

Maybe not money, either- something RR valuable.

But I was reading a few pages back abotu maming the Model RR forum goers upset- that isn't that hard- tell them you have a 'Q' scale model RR- see how long it takes for them to run an illegal opperation- or for their head to not compute, and then they start yelling at each other, or fanatically searching through magazines looking for the ominous 'Q' scale- while you sit there tithering.

Of course, I am joking- have been tempted to do it to- but Nah, i'm not that horrible- No I am horrible, but not to that degree, thats just evil. like stealing candy from a baby evil- Fun, but just nasty.

So what has changed- many new people- I like seeing new faces. gotta get a new pictue of me up here- you wouldn't believe what I turned into- darwin was wrong, we can unevolve- Radioshack has my electric razor, and i'm looking more like a Gorilla-thing everyday.

Pictures of flowers?- i missed the 'botanical gardens welcomes you' sign. (relax- i'm joking) the picture is beautiful- If i could take pictures like that- i'd be a photgrapher. I can take pictures like that, but they seem to always be blurry- swear to goodness it is the camera that has the shakes, not me.

other then that this place is looking really good-

I'm getting aggrivated with this company- because i need to order a new RR vest and they are being really stickler-like. If i pick a new one up at the yard, and sign for it and everyhting, that'll amke it the fifth one this year. so when my signature becomes apparant, i'll be in for the beating of my life- I keep tearing the bloody things on the freight cars- one rip, it's finished...

and if they hear i need a new one, they'll kick me in not such a nice area.

So i play ovveride, and went right to the manifacturer.

I do have a brain, for all of you that questioned.

Well, Popeye said it best. "That's all I can stand, cuz I can't stands no more!" My 32 dollar Cubs hat got a ceremonial burning in the burn barrel tonight. 8 in a row is all I can take. After the game, ComCast had a computer poll on whether they should bring up some of the prospects from Des Moines and let the veterans sit. 92% said yes!!!!!!

Are you and Mutt enjoying the dog (sorry Mook) days of summer in Kentucky? It has been so hot up here. We water almost nightly, and we're still losing plants. Most of the Hostas are holding their own, but any near the edges of the shade are getting sunburned. Yes , plants do get sunburned. The Japanese maples are just plain wilting, the 2 big Hackberry trees in the front yard have already started dropping leaves like it's October. What a crappy year for the landscaping.
OK, I see we're on the subject of t-shirt slogans (thanks Jay) This one is for the guys, so Mook,CW, and Sarah and any other of you ladies out there. CLOSE YOUR EYES.
Keep in mind I bought this right after a divorce, when I was local chapter president of the He-Man Woman Haters Club. ( most of you 20-30 somethings won't even know what that is) I only wear it occasionally in the band just to stir up "things" Anyway, here goes (NO PEEKING LADIES) " How can you trust something that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die?" OK ladies, you can open your eyes. (flame retardant suit has been put on)
Anyway, not much new on the sandbar, just work and hot, hot hot! Lots of trains running manifest. Many interesting power combinations. NS, SF(a B23) and IC in addition to the usual BN colors.

Good morning, all! Getting closer to the weekend. All the kiddies here in
Jeff. Co., KY go back to school next Tuesday; our great- niece in Oldham Co.
(LaGrange, KY) starts school Wednesday, and our great-nephews in
Bullitt Co (Shepherdsville, KY) start back next Thursday. Think they are
all looking forward to it.

Breakfast this morning: turkey bacon, sausage patties and links w/biscuits
and gravy, cantalope and watermelon slices. There's plenty of coffee going,
and we have orange juice, pineapple juice, orange-tangerine juice, and
apple juice to go with your breakfast.

Joe made fresh lemonade, and I've made fresh iced tea. If we run out of lemons,
bought a big bottle of RealLemon juice for those who want lemon flavor to
their iced tea (or hot tea, either one)

Lunch today: all kinds of sandwiches made up and in the cooler; just in case
Mutt and I aren't back from the library for lunch for you all. There's also some
potato salad, and cole slaw in the fridge.

Coburn35, have never tasted Italian Ice, and don't know how to make it. Do
you? If so, could I have to recipe, please?

Kevin, welcome back to the Diner!! Please come in for a visit more often!!
(And please DO post a new picture on your profile.) I'll "redo" a corner of
the Diner for you, and put a small sofa in, just so you'll feel more at home
here. Might even get Dan to come in more often if we do that.

Willy - I read that T-shirt a long time ago. I thought it was funny...I know I am easily amused.

We had a great lightning show here last night - we haven't had lightning like that in ever so long - and even a good puddle of rain - just not terribly widespread. At least it got south Lincoln!

Chris - is that a columbine? That is so pretty! But I will hazard a guess and say probably no smell?

Kev - glad you are back. I never understand a word you say, but I read it all faithfully in the hopes of one day....Besides you were very clear when I asked you where you worked (you gave me a map and everything!)

Vic - there are times I think (and especially after reading Hitchhikers Guide) that you should donate your brain to science - along with your poetry. (and I mean that in the nicest way!) You would make a good science project - take you apart and see what makes you tick - but probably wouldn't understand that either. Still, you do have good taste in art!

CW - I am gone tomorrow - getting new carpet in the cat house! I would rather be declawed then go through this, but landpeople are insistant. And hate walking on the bare floors. Call me psycho but I can't live in a place w/o carpet and curtains. Makes me very uncomfortable.

So will make a breakfast casserole this afternoon and you can put it out on breakfast bar for tomorrow. Let's see - sardines, tuna (did you know you can tuna piano, but you can't tuna fish?), chicken and milk. Yep! Stir lightly and serve! Probably will want to make an extra large pan - everyone will want some!
