A tall, cold glass of Diet Dew would dew me just fine now. It's 91 and sticky outside--fortunately the sky is gray, with no direct sun.

Cher, could a spinach salad, with bacon bits (real or faux) and eggs, be arranged? I think that's probably all the supper I'll be wanting.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler here, with thunderstorms to mark the passage of the front. Maybe I should bike to work anyway, just to assure that the rain will fall!

My wife works at her "hobby shop" (a fabric store), and one of the perks there is a 20-percent employee discount. If you had a hobby shop that granted similar favors to its employees, it would make the combination (shopping and working there) mighty desirable!

That happened on the Model Railroader forums a few weeks ago. Wasn't a pretty sight; caused a huge flame war between four or five members, including me. That wasn't fun...[V]

Carl, I've got a spinach salad w/real bacon bits and eggs in it ready for you.

Coburn 35, and everyone else: fried chicken w/garlic mashed potatoes is
ready, also.

Mudchicken, have to relate a story about our cat, Virginia Chessie (VC) to
you: the first time Mutt brought home some chicken fried rice for me, VC
immediately jumped up in my lap, and tried to steal my chicken fried rice
from me. I was literally attacked by the cat: she really, really wanted
my supper that night, instead of her own.

Got some interesting news today from my dr. appointment: I have shrunk
two inches: so I'm now 4' 5" instead of 4' 7". Oh well, facts of life, I suppose.

Sarah, I think things are a little more relaxed on the Diner thread. As long
as it's not bad, i.e., bad mouthing someone, etc., whatever we say is o.k. Like
being in a REAL diner, instead of a virtual one!!

Joe, I'll take a small slice of both apple and cherry pie, please. Maybe with a
little bit of ice cream over it. [dinner]

Well, the weatherman was wrong again..... Why does this not surprise me??

Most stations were predicting storms this evening. Well, around 10:30 this morning, we got a storm that knocked out the 3-phase electric power at work for about 15 minutes. [sigh]

CW, I'll take a dinner plate to go, and we'll take a slice of Joe's cherry pie for dessert. I appreciate it, thanks in advance.

We've got you beat here in Iowa. It just went UP today to $2.19 a gallon for the ethanol blend (subsidized). And if I'm not mistaken I just earned a star.

Thanks, Cher--the salad was greatly appreciated!

And the limeade was the crowning touch!

(Still 80 degrees outside here, at midnight. We got sprinkled a little bit this evening, but it didn't help matters much.)

Kevin,Welcome back, try not to stay away so long.

Carl,we made it to 95 yesterday, with high humidity, today is supposed to be
about as bad, with a supposed respite coming in tommorow,Already starting
this morning at about 75 degrees, with humidity to match.
(I didn't quite make it to midnight last night, but we were about same temp.,or a bit higher than you mentioned. Sorta makes it hard to go to sleep.

Cool weather has arrived and headed east! A little rain north of us, but none here.

I see Kevin is back and IronKen, too! That's nice to see!

CW - you will be about Mookie's height if you continue - but that is on all fours. (Real life is about 5'4-5'5.) We will get you a sturdy stool to stand on to do the cooking!

Anyone here remember a Green River drink served at soda fountains? Anyone know what was in it? Bet Modelcar remembers it!

Too windy for hammock - will do nap in corner rocker.

Where's Tom! Still looking.....

Mookie, maybe I'll have to try to get one of those elevating wheelchairs. Saw one
within the last week on Good Morning America. The young girl pushed a control
on her chair, and it "stands up" on the back wheels, so that she is eye-level with
her friends and family. Better start buying lottery tickets, so I can afford the chair!!

Breakfast this morning is the last of the cantalope I've got on hand, and the last of
the watermelon that I have also; along with your choice of cold cereal, sausage,
biscuits & gravy, and toast.

Lunch today will be: beef stew and cornbread with garden salad, and there's plenty
of the spinach salad I made yesterday for Carl, if anyone else wants some spinach
salad.

The coffee is on, orange juice made, along with apple juice, orange-pineapple,
and orange-tangerine juices.

Haven't planned far ahead enough to post the supper menu for tonight. That will
come around or after lunch today.

Everybody have a good day, stay as cool as possible, and keep yourselves safe!

BTW, Kev, so very glad to see you back!! Now, don't stay away so long, all
right?!?![:D]

A TV station in Syracuse does its weather reports from the "Weather Deck" - outside. If it's snowing, you can see it fall...

Ill take the cold cereal, susage and toast.

Ham and cheese omelet sounds delicious - especially with some of that 4X sharp cheddar! I'll take some sausage links on the side, too. And maybe some hash browns... Whole wheat toast? Tall glass of OJ to wash it all down. Better hurry up - I'm making my self really hungry.

Omelet - well done, please. Hate gooey eggs - not crazy about eggs in the first place.

Tree - they do a lot of that in Omaha - poor guy standing there shivering in the winter or dying in the summer - and we always have wind so they have a tendency to lean a little, permanently.

Lincoln has no news or weather.

CW - order 2 - and we will work on the lottery, too!

Good morning everybody !!!

I was wondering where Kevin has been lately too, Good to see you here again.

I've got a question...For quite some time when I "come to the dinner" I will click on the last page indicated in the topic. But when the page opens up I find that there is more pages. I then have to click on the real last page again. As an example the topic will show 402 as the last page, but when I open it 404 is the actual last page. This is getting irritating.[banghead]
Does this happen to everyone? or is it just me? Is there a way I can fix this?
I'm guessing this is caused by deleted posts. Anybody know?
I guess I should have said I have a few questions.[;)]
