^~^ - yessss...... I am here and I finished 'Arry off out in the hammock this morning!

Then had to take a long nap!

I love the Potter books - they are an easy read - for both young and old! And just like Bewitched didn't promote witchcraft, I don't think HP does either!

Confined to house all weekend - way too hot -

Tried to trainwatch at 6 am Sat morning - only went to 9 am - then said said enuf!

Lots of things on Paul Harvey today - it is so hot the birds are using potholders to pull the worms out of the earth....

Paris Hilton took her car to a professional detailer - they wouldn't touch it. Too big a mess!

And with all the the storms in Texas - the people from Mexico are fleeing - back to Mexico (this is for Houston Ed!)

We had some noise and some light at 4 am - didn't do much except make noise and provide light.

And for Tree - we had two bad house fires here in the city over the weekend - no one injured but it sounded pretty tough for the firemen. Only 104. And the causes were most likely improper disposal of smoking material. Duh!

Gotta go check out the food - lunch and a nap again! (see this is just like Harry Potter; you have to suspend all thoughts of reality!)

....For some reason we didn't get the extreme weather they had predicted for us yesterday...Only got to 90 which is about the norm here this last month but today, bingo....Jackpot....It's 98 now at 2 pm, so it has arrived for today. Humidity to match it and almost no breeze.

QM, sounds like your weather in Muncie is just like ours here in Louisville.

Mookie, glad to see you made it in. KNEW I'd find you curled up in
the hammock!!

Think supper menu tonight will be steak (grilled on a George Forman grill
for the kitchen, rather than outside), with salad. There's also some spaghetti
and meatballs w/Texas garlic toast for anyone who would rather have that,
than steak.

We had a structure fire Thursday night (or did I say that?). My bunker gear was soaked on the inside, and I only briefly handled a hose. We went through two or three cases of water and at least a case of Gatorade. And the fire was at 10:30 at night...

We really got a pretty good save on the structure - a mobile home. The fire started in an addition on the back and got into the attic, but the bulk of the building was OK. Another couple of hours later and we would have been wetting down the embers.

Yeah, some of us are still around, albeit just being quite;it takes too much
energy to move around, and it is too hot to expend that energy.

If this rain keeps up, we all might be playing in the mud pretty soon[swg]

Rumbling outside for the third time in 24 hours, I don't think we have to worry too much about the drought anymore. Got to 85 today, still thick outside, though. Stayed inside as much as I could today.

Pass the A-1, please[dinner]

You ate a Healthy Choice dinner[?][:0] Not enough meat or veggies for
either one of us. Mutt stays thin, NEVER gains a quarter of an
ounce. On rare occasions, he'll eat one of them, then gripes about
there not being enough meat in them to suit his taste.[:p] And me, I
just plain don't like the taste of them.[V]

But the steak tonight was absolutely fantastic. Nice and tender.

I certainly agree with you there, but I'm 6'-5" and weigh 300 lbs. Need to do something to shed the weight. Hey, maybe I should start eating all my meals at the diner! No calories at all, right?

[{(-_-)}] Singin' in the rain![:-^]

Finally! Rained all night long and even this morning. Little windy, but we will take what we can get! Grass went from brown to green overnight!

Gates - did the brain - got 2. It probably won't help!

Saw about 10 cars of CATX (kitty litter) going by this weekend - (did a little kitty jig!)

Dan is on R & R - so it will be a little less funny for awhile!

The heat is on in the east, but some of this will probably make it to you later this week.

Montana had an earthquake?

ok - now I am tired.

I can identify with that "brown to green" lawn phenomenon, although some of the grass was apparently past saving. I'm mowing like it's spring, now - twice a week! Not complaining, though. The ol' well takes a beating in this dry weather, too, and no water is no fun!

...Grass has remained rather green thru this whole mess....Don't really know why...Too much to water. Mowed Friday and last night but looks very nice. Now....Tomorrow morning having the submersable well pump replaced....The original since we built this home...Sure hope the next one will be as good...34 years...Giant performance, and it still is working...Foot valve has a slight leak down so replacing it all new......Our highest temp. here yesterday..98 and plus humidity...Pretty wild. Today yet, and then relief....Delaware County Fair under way now...bet those cattle barns are a hot place...!
That's the Muncie start for today...

Highs only in the 70s ?[:0] Pease export some of that cooler stuff
down this way;we are supposed to be hotter than yesterday, which was too much.
Today is forecast to be around 95-96,with heat index 110-115.[xx(]
If we get any cool down it's to be later in the week.[:(]

Larry, sorta know what you mean about the grass, ours was looking thay way,
but got some rain, and now it's just tall;needs to be cut,but that won't happen
today,my outdoor work for today has already been done, getting the weeds
and climbing Ivy off the fence.(chain link)[xx(]

Hi all,
I noticed the dinner had slipped to page two. Can't let that happen. So I thought I'd drop in for a cold drink. It's been pretty slow at work this week so I've been spending a little too much time on this machine. Anyway everybody have a great day and try to keep COOL.[8D]
