Joe, I've got the tea brewing as we speak, along with making up several
batches of lemonade. Know all our patrons who haven't gotten any rain
will be wanting something cool and refreshing to drink today!

Mook - while you're waiting for some munchies, go back and look at my post on the dogs again - I added a link for the dachshund...

Tree........Oh so typical of the little Dachshund....! Doing just what he wants to do especially regarding food. We had 2 miniature doxies over a period of 33 years...one lived to be 16 and the other 17...Pretty long life for them. Didn't matter how big the opponent was that didn't stop them. One day we heard a commotion out front and upon seeing what was going on....One of our little ones..{Ditto}, was standing in the street facing the stopped school bus barking as to indicate it wasn't allowed any further on our street, etc.....Bus driver was stopped blowing the horn but Ditto wasn't fazed by that....

Oh! That will make him no taller, but a lot....longer! I love the Scrabble comic strip - their dachshund's legs go a mile a minute and make lots of noise on the tile, but he goes nowhere....

Breakfast this morning is all the usual breakfast menu fare. But, for lunch,
you all will have: meatloaf, mashed potates, gravy, and cherry cobbler or
peach cobbler for dessert.

Supper tonight will be: your choice of the following: liver and onions, pork
chop abracadbra, baked potatoes, and garden salad. There will also be
cherry and peach cobblers for dessert, along with ice cream.

Mookie, I'm surprised you didn't sniff out and locate the cobblers and meatloaf!
It's beginning to warm up here this morning. Temp's already inching up to
the mid 70s, and foggy.

Oh, it all sounds good to me. And I made it in earlier this morning so there is no chance I would miss out on breakfast!

Fritz is very happy to know that forum members like Dachhounds. Just don't invade his territory. If you do come in, no sandles or bare feet, he is convinced that you are hiding your pets in your feet and he will attack. (Even the minatures have teeth designed to pull Badgers out off tunnels).

Quintin, the only difference between a pie and a cobbler is the amount
of crust. Just as good either way; but I have baked a few cherry pies
as well. So eat up!!

Smokey (the little guy in the picture) just went through a tough time, according to my son. He decided to eat some yarn from a blanket. After several incisions in his intestines to extract said yarn, he is now recovering nicely, and blankets are no longer left lying around that household....

Woo Wee..........................did some parts of the Philadelphia area get some rain!!!!!! I was at work when it started to pour on the other side of the river (Schukill [spelling]), in West Conshohocken and Bridgeport, PA. I got a little bit of rain so far at my house here which is 15 mins from West Conshy. I think it's going to down pour soon because, it's really dark outside and I can smell the O3 and N in the air. HECK I WANT SOME THUNDERSTORMS AND FLASH FLOODS!!!!!!!!!! So I can watch the creeks over by my area overflow.

CW I think I'll have some din din now, thank for preparing the liver and onions. I needed a big meal like that after a hard day's work. I was haveing great trouble trying to stay awake on the job today but, I got through it.

Carl wedding tomorrow [:D] I'm pretty sure eveyone is a bit nervous. Well if I don't talk to you before then give Linda and Chris my best.

Hmmm...MC...better make sure its soap-on-a-rope, and tied to something sturdy. Heard Arapahoe Cty. has Tornado Warnings out. And here I am stuck in my office in Adams Cty. Sigh...someday I'll get to chase a funnel...

We've just had a couple of thunder boomers pass over. We got about
an inch on this light one that just went through. That's the most we've
had for a couple of days.

....Central Indiana, specifically Muncie, got a bit of very hard rain this afternoon for about 5 min...!!! Now that brings our total from the Dennis disturbance to a total of .75"...Not bad as it has made a difference but really not enough for the dry spell we've had. New grass is up over an inch that I planted over the mole tunnels...just 4 days ago...! Yard green in most spots. Humidity is so thick today one can just about cut it with a knife. Come back in the house and at first it feels like a meat cooler but temp is at least 75...It's the great difference in humidity.

We have ramped sidwalks at all the intersections in town so it is not a problem there, but when the grass in our yard is up to about 2" he's dragging.

When Fritz comes back from a ride or a walk, he runs at his top speed from the front of the house along the walk to the back yard so he can go in the house through the patio door. I don't shovel that walk in the wintertime. On a morning after 8 inches of first snowfall, we came back after an errand. Fritz jumped out of the car heading for the back door. When he came to the "wall" of snow he decided he could just jump over the top and be on his way. All that was visible after that jump was the top of his hunched up back and his head, with a genuine look of "Oh Sh..!" on his face. There were several affectionate licks on the cheek for his rescuer.

(We were gone from the house this afternoon and evening and he has been on my lap surfing the net with me since we got back.)

...Jay, having had such dogs as I mentioned for 33 years I can understand all you are saying about your doxie.......They all have similar traits...and they are smart...and they are lovable....and they don't care how big the opponent is....Except years ago our first one came yepping and running towards the house from the back yard with a large bird right above him.....She didn't like that at all....And the stories go on for ever...But above all, such lovable dogs...Our last one passed away in 1996. Dainty and Ditto.

Fritz is nine years old now and we hope he has many more good years. I long opposed having a dog because of the care and complications when traveling, but my wife thought I didn't like dogs. Problem is that I like them too much and let them get spoiled. And Fritz is not the model of discipline, but is still much fun to have around.
