Hey all!

A quick heads up regarding this thread.  I know it's been over 2 years and there is a lot of history here.  It's great to see such an active discussion like this.  These long discussion threads do impact forum performance over time and at some point we need for it to be continued in a new thread. Due to the size of this thread and the number of posts, I'm asking that you start a new one for 2007. With the new year approaching, it's as perfect time as ever to do this.

Thanks & Happy New Year!

Heading out for the weekend.  Since Randy is too tired from work, it looks like the farm snowplow, front end loader and my snowblower won't be going to Denver.  MC will be on his own getting rid of the latest accumulation.

 Happy New Year to all.

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Coffee is on, juice is made, and breakfast is on the warmer bar:  fresh warm doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, sausage, turkey bason, sausage gravy w/homemade buttermilk biscuits, oatmeal, toast, bagals, and apple cinnamon muffins.

If anyone doesn't like their weather, come on to Louisville for today.  We are to reach a high of 59, with plenty of sunshine.  Then the bottom drops out of the bucket w/rain, and a chance of it changing to thunderstorms and possibly snow tomorrow and Sunday.

I'll be back in in a little while, with the FRIDAY FISH MENU.  Everyone have a great morning.

Wish you would quit turning all the rain on us, Willy, I drove home last Friday into flooding, the Fox River in New Munster was above flood stage and was to be that way all week.  Forecast for the weekend is saying another inch to two inches of rain, and more flooding.

Still tired from work, will be in later.

Well, I'm going to take what's left of the tuna melt casserole for my dinner tonight. Dinner [dinner]

I just got back from a nice little walk.  A little nippy out there, but perfect walking weather.

I know it's going to visit us, but probably in the form of mostly rain. Snow would be my preference, but for the thousandth time this year it looks like that just isn't going to happen.

......It seems El Nino or something similar has the winter weather pattern altered this season....Last year at this time we already had had 12" of the stuff here in Muncie and so far this comparable time the total is 1 1/2".

I'm not complaining...not with the 40 plus degrees right now and sunshine and no snow....No siree.....

Burgers and fries hit the spot today!  CW you aim to please and hit the mark again!  On a sad note...I'm feeling under the weather, so I may be in here sparsely as I try to rest for the next couple days.

No problem, Joe.

On today's lunch/supper menus:  burgers, fries, slaw or garden salad,  tuna melt casserole, and for dessert:  have about three dozen Christmas cookies left, and jam cake, with your choice of egg nog or boiled custard.

Joe, you'll find a couple of containers containing a little bit of everything for you to take to work tonight.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the liver and onions very much, CW.  You did a very good job of cooking them. Thumbs Up [tup]

I'll think that I'll start out my day with a large cup of hot chocolate, please.

Every time I hear a reference to liver and onions, I remember a radio commercial for a pizza place in Oklahoma City - The guy was complaining that his wife served liver and onions too frequently, but it wasn't the liver and onions as such that was the problem.  It was having liver one night, and onions the next....

This morning it's 38 - Ma Nature can't seem to make up her mind...  This is the greenest holiday season I can remember in years.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Gee, if you don't like liver and onions, you don't have to eat them!  That is why I always have something else on the menu, when that's on the menu.  I know there are people who don't like liver:  but there are some of us who do like them, and they shouldn't have to do without.  They are good for you.  Enough about that.

Coffee is ready, fresh juice is made, and there's hot chocolate and hot tea available also.

On the warmer bar this morning, you'll find:  turkey bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, tater tots, oatmeal, toast.

Everyone have a great day, and be careful and safe.

Evening All,

Well at least this time I'm not scheduled to fly into or out of Denver in the midst of a blizzard. I definately will be pestering Weatherman Willy to see if anymore are headed that way before I fly back on the 3rd. BTW, you're right Willy. As much as I like snow, blizzards (with their sustained winds, blowing and drifting snow, etc.) aren't as much fun as a nice 4 or 5 inches. Won't be too upset to miss that one.

Meanwhile, stopped at Eola quickly this evening. The weather was working against me here as well...though only in a photographic sense. We had some heavy overcast that was just eating light. I thought I was going to get a little bit of sunlight just before sunset, but it didn't amount to much. Still, it was an intersting evening. The west end of Eola was just packed with interesting stuff. In the 15-20 minutes I stayed there, I managed to see some CN power, an NRE former DRGW Tunnel Motor, a CSX SD50(maybe...didn't have a good angle on it) with the blue paint job, a Frisco hopper and amazingly enough an SD9 still earning it's keep in the yard.

She was numbered 1722, so I'm guessing that BNSF is renumbering them, because the last one I saw was in the 6100's. I'm also guessing that if they're renumbering them, they're staying around for at least a little more. Who'd have thunk that a Class One would be running 1st gen. stuff into at least 2007?

BTW, Santa KEH brought me a couple new lenses for Christmas. Should be trying them out this week on a couple photo outings. If there are some decent results, I'll post them here.'

Well, I must be off to bed. Hope you all have a great evening!

Hi all, just got back from the land of 10,000 lakes, had a wonderful Christmas with my entire family all present.

My wife's main gift to me is a weather station, an Oregon Scientific WMR100 with all the sensors.  Can't wait to rig it up on the roof and start monitoring everything.

The next few days will be darn near as busy, but I'll try to pop in a few times and keep up on things!

I'll settle for a burger, but some of those onions might be good on it...

Some things in life you don't try because it just doesn't sound inviting.  Liver, on the other hand, is one of those things I've tried and really don't like.

A dusting of snow today, possibly a couple of inches to the south (lake effect).  But it's colder than it has been, so the possibility is there.

One more workday this week, then four days straight, wrapping up with a hopefully quiet New Years Day.  Maybe by then I'll have the computer squared away and can do some of the stuff I need to get done on it.

Good Evening!

As Dan mentioned, Chris has some more snow on the way; probably another foot or so! Denver is just too lucky, although I'm sure Mudchicken and Chris would like to argue against that.

The latest computer model data is just now coming in and I think it is looking a little better for Omaha to get snow than it did this morning, but even with this new data considered, I think it will be mainly rain for us in Omaha. I'll have to watch and see if the models continue trending like they are now because if they do, then we may have something bigger on our hands. I'm not counting on it though.

I can't believe that Christmas vacation is almost half over already! Time really flies when a person is having fun. Wink [;)]

Looks like CopCarSS could get some more snow...

Liver and Onions sounds really good--especially if it was fried first and then bubbled in brown gravy for about an hour.  Mashed potatoes sound good, along with a pit of pie.  Brrr. it's cold here today with snowflakes swirling around.  A hot cup of coffee should help warm me up.  Many thanks to the wonderful cook!

So glad to see that Mookie made it in this afternoon, for a few minutes.

For supper tonight, here are your choices:  liver & onions, beef stew w/cornbread,burgers and fries, grilled cheese sandwiches w/fries or potato chips, along with the Christmas leftovers (although not much is left, you all have done a great job eating in here the past few days.
