Jim, we might get to 70 today, but as cloudy as it is, that will be a
miracle.

Sarah, don't know what Mutt will say, but I'll say that we'll just have to wait
and see whether Cincy or Philly wins.

The fish and fries are ready to be eaten. We've got cod, perch, and catfish
on the menu today. Also have cole slaw and hushpuppies.

Dessert: brownies with black walnuts and chocolate frosting on them for
dessert.

Jim...........well you did have a wild day at work yesterday. That was a Halmark Moment!!! It's a shame you didn't have the camera yesterday. I do wonder was this guy on drugs or something.
Thanks for the congrats

Chris I'm going to second what CW said and say, you need to come into the dinner more often!!! We all miss you here!!

Well, lets see it didn't rain enough last night to put the greater Philadelphia area in a flash flood warning, so I wasn't able to go out river watching. But, lets see what FUN stuff I'm going to do today......go the food market and to the gym. HOW FUN. lol

Mutt, Phillies vs. Cincy tonight....Whos going to win??

Jim

On the weather. Sympathy card on the way. Also a very large empty box is on the way via UPS. Pack it with some of your 70 degree air and send it back collect. Thanks[}:)][}:)]

I second that.

I still have 2 pages to catch up on. [:(] We have a "cold" front in today. Last night the temps droped down into the 50s and 40s in some parts of Arkansas. Today's high is only going to be 77. It was very windy yesterday and is today also.

We had some excitment at work last night. Someone was in a gon and it was humped. When a switch crew went to tie on to it they saw something. We had all kinds of rescue requipment and people there for it. Turned out the guy was just asleep, how in the world he slept through going over the hump, through several sets of ear piercing retarders and the final jolt of coupling no one knows. He was ok, I am not sure if there arrested him or not.

Duchess is enjoying being in the yard and soaking up the morning sunshine. It is ok in the sun but a little chilly in the shade.

Well that is the news and weather from Central Arkansas today. [:D]

Good Friday morning, everyone. Hmmm, looks like everything was really quiet
in here last night. Joe, guess you get the hammock today by default. Since no
one else made a bid on it, you get use of the hammock in Mookie's absence.

Chris, glad to see you were finally able to stop in for a visit. We've all missed you.

Now, if we can find where Carl is hiding, maybe we can drag him in here!!

Breakfast is light this morning: doughnuts and muffins. But if someone wants
bacon, sausage, etc., I'll fix some for you.

Joe; your bid is duly noted. (also the only one, thus far)
I guess in the interest of being totally fair;we will accept
bids on said item, until 12am DST (Diner Standard Time)
(which would be Kalmbach time, for all concerned)

CHRIS ??!!! [:O] Is that really you ?? We had several search parties
out looking, but all reported no sightings !! [sigh] Well,at least
we didn't totally give up hope,we knew the prodigal would return
someday !![swg]
Try not to stay away so long the next time, you know how Auntie Mook
and Auntie CW worry so.[(-D][(-D]

Now as far as your luck being so good, how 'bout you get several
lottery tickets so we can all share !![:-,]

Well, how about that? Not only did I arrive to a dual party, I also managed to get top page honors. I think I may be off to purchase a lottery ticket.

Well, hot dog! Look at me! I stop into the diner to find not one, but two parties going on! Is that impeccable timing or what!?!

Seriously, congratulations on your graduation, Sarah! I tried one class in one semester and decided that the Mark Twain approach was much more to my liking: "I never let my schooling get in the way of my education." (Disclaimer: To any and all students of any level of formal education, this is not an endorsement for the discontinuation of your schooling.) Hope all goes well for you in the next step of your life.

While we're at it, [bday] Bob! Hope you have a good one.

Well, I'm on the countdown to Yellowstone. And as busy as work has left me lately, I don't think that it could come any sooner. In fact, if it were any later, I fear what few shreads of my sanity I yet cling to would surely be but a happy memory in whatever institution I might find myself in.

At any rate, the campground I'll be staying at does have wireless internet access (and doesn't that just seem incongruous with the idea of camp life?), so I'm hoping to post some daily pictures / travel posts. I'll be sure to share anything interesting with all of you.

Well, I must be on my way. I have a softball game tonight, so I suppose I should get myself prepared for that. I hope all of you are well.

TTFN,

Chris

P.S. Randy, you and your family are in my prayers.

If anyone is still hungry after the two parties going on today (Sarah's graduation
and Bob's birthday), there is plenty of soup and sandwiches for supper tonight.
(Thought I'd make it a "light" supper tonight, after we've all filled up on cake and
ice cream).

Jay - we arrive trackside afternoon of the 20th. Or if I whine and crab and pout - maybe late morning! And believe me, I am a professional!

Brian - happy trip. Follow Jay's advice. [^]

Spike - B & N - our Saturday retreat. Love that place and they love me - well, my credit card anyway.

Off until Monday - C U all then.

Last I heard your trip was for next weekend. I am afraid it is too late to do anything about the weather for this weekend, but there is a roof over the deck at Rochelle. Dress for temps in the low fifties.

Good Morning Diner friends!

The CFO had to drive to Charlotte for training with the new job yesterday and will return Friday. Thoughts and prayers are with her on the solo trip, she needs it! Driving the Interstate is a challenge for her ever since the accident on the move up to NC back in January.

So I took my son to Ted’s Montana Grill last night, he had a filet and I got a rib eye steak. Then we went to Barnes and Noble to browse the books, magazines, and music. He wanted a RC airplane magazine and I bought the new Bruce Springsteen CD. Then we went back home and watched a recording of the “Deadliest Catch”, a show on the Discovery Channel about king crab fishing in the Bering Sea, really neat stuff. Watching that show makes you want to eat king crab. Then we watched American Idol, Chris got voted off last night, a shocker to say the least. But Elliott has shown much improvement in the past few weeks, he might just make it to the top.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all in need!

Cheers,

Mookie, if she starts reading Dilbert, she just might decide to take up railroading instead. The only thing that makes it easier once you realize that your work environment is so similar to Dilbert's, is that due to Dilbert's incredible popularity you realize that Dilberism's happen nearly everywhere. It doesn't always help the immediate situation, but it helps keep the "grass must be greener elsewhere" thoughts at bay.

Sarah - congratulations! Now you need to start reading Dilbert in the comics!

CW/Mutt - I am off tomorrow on a day of vacation - so please auction off the hammock to the highest bidder. We will split it!

These vacations are a lot of work. I have spent two weeks training 3 different people to do my job while I am in Rochelle. Now I know why I come to work every day - it is a lot easier! I told them to just hold all the work tomorrow and I will do it on Monday!

Exasperated....

Sarah - Ain't it a wonderful feeling - to be able to mark another milestone?!?

Weather here is supposed to sour over the weekend, which figures..... Was hoping for some golf. Have friends from another fire department making a special trip up for our FD banquet. And to play golf.

Drove down to Utica for the Car Hosts meeting. There will have to be a lot of OJT... Did get to check out the new windmills up on Tug Hill. Wow! Big and Impressive! On top of that, all of the aircraft warning strobes are synchronized. Very different.

Time to rest up. Plenty to accompli***omorrow, and I have to go to work, too.
