First and Formost

Happy Mother's Day too every single Mom out there. (No pun intended) [:D]

Nance thank you for you confidence in me, and for your praises. Much Appreciated!!

miniwyo, I know how you feel in relation to taking finals espeacilly math on the weekends, it's CRAP!!!! My senior year of high school I had to take my
A.P. Algerbra III, Trigonometry final, and it took me darn near four hours. I got a C in it. MAN was I glad to be out of that one!!!

Mutt...................Now you know I don't care for the Phillies at all, that is the only Philadelphia team I don't like. I am surprised at how poorly the Reds did in their games with us too, they got their butts handed to them in their own home town, twice.
(Well, this proves that if you want to play some REAL competitive sports come on up to the Birthplace of Independence).- No place like it. hehehe

Happy Mother's day to all the moms!

Sorry I've been away for a while. I had finals at college last week and this week I'm moving. I'm famished! I'd eat anything...even the hammock! LOL j/k. Hope everyone is having a good May so far. I'll be back in when I can.

Plus I had some time to edit my train animation...check it out here.

A message from Bob's Secretary, Nance: I am finally back after being gone two days plus having email and general problems with the internet--hopefully it will be ok now.
Bob wants me to thank you all for your good wishes for his birthday. He really appreciated them. As you may remember Bob is legally blind and so I read all of your great posts to him which he enjoys a lot. Sarah, we both send our congratulations to you--we are proud of your good work in college. And thanks again for adding to Bob's life with all of the info about trains.
Thanks again to all of you .

Well everyone, I've got the pizzas ready early today. TheSATURDAY PIZZA FEST
consists of the following pizzas:

1. cheese
2. sausage
3. pepperoni
4. goetta
5. supreme
6. special
7. mushroom
8. three meat
I only made large today, instead of the usual extra large. But there should
be enough for everyone to have plenty of pizza.

And there are plenty of sodas to have with the pizzas.

Hey CW,
You know which one I want.
I need a large #4 to feed four. You know in 9 months, I'll be needing enough to feed 5.

Have a great night everybody. We're headed out to Newport KY.

Brian (KY)

Yeah, Brian, are you going to be needing an extra pizza, or just have them
slice your large with more pieces?!?![:D][:-,]

Nothing but cold and rainy here today. The center of the low is stuck right in the middle of Lake Michigan and the rain is spinning out up to 500 miles in every direction. Toto? Is this Oregon?

We'll be over for pizza, but break out the sun lamps.

Well guys, All done with the Math final. Went much better than I had expected. Only took about an hour too, I still think its dumb to have final exams on a saturday though. Just got 1 more really easy one monday night at 7 and then I am completely done for the semester. Breakfast was great, good thinking food. Now I can enjoy the rest of my saturday with 0 degree weather and clear skies. If I had the gas to spare I would go sit by the tracks but alas, I cant. Have a good day every body!!!

Morning All

Now is the time for that Amtrak trip to San Antonio. That is if you have ever thought about taking one there. WHY? Because the 844 will be there for about a week.

I think they will be doing a boiler wash and inspection. I was told that every 30 days a boiler wash is necessary for a working steam engine. PLUS for those of us whose weather is a little cooler than normal I am sure that San Antonio's weather is much warmer. [^] I certainly would go if I had the time and money.

Today our weather is currently 69 and headed for a high of 81. We have sunny skies with 00% change of rain.

I am on my 3rd cup of coffee and still struggling to stay awake. [:(]

Take Care Everyone

Joe, thanks for starting the coffee brewing, and making the juice. Just now
finished going through all my email from overnight.

For Saturday brunch, the menu will be:

pancakes, sausage and/or bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade biscuits,
sausage gravy, and jam, jelly, preserves & honey for the biscuits.

I think we're having roast pork, but I'm not in charge (at least not of the banquet). Also a lot of camaraderie - some good friends from a fire department that helped us out during Ice Storm '98 are coming up, too.

Finally, the call came - Daughter's boyfriend presented her with a new piece of jewelry - third finger, left hand. .[:D] Now we just have to find out when she gets the other ring.[%-)]

Of course, she was about the only one who didn't know (well, she did, since they've been talking about it for a long time, but not when). They're a good couple.

Chris, have a safe trip.

Cannonball, hope you have a safe trip also, taking your load to Tucson.

Larry, looks like you'll be having a better fare tomorrow night than our
Saturday Pizza Fest. Bet you'll come home from it stuffed, right? And your
perch, fries and 'puppies are ready.

Jim, looks like we're not going to reach 60 degrees today. It's around 56,
57 now at 5:47 p.m. And there is a VERY BRISK BREEZE!!

CW, Mutt and Sarah,

Thanks for the Welcome Back. This place still gets top honors for the best patrons on the net. Not too mention some of the best food, too!

Anyways, I'm off for the weekend. Going to head out by the Pawnee Buttes in NE Colorado. Kind of a last "shakedown" run on my cuz's new fifth wheel before we take it up to Yellowstone. Hope you all have a great weekend. See you on Monday!

Perch, fries and 'puppies for me.

All of 59 here right now- after near 80 earlier in the week. And, of course, rain is forecast for the whole weekend... Sheesh!

Fire Department banquet tomorrow night - at least the weather doesn't matter for that.

Afternoon everyone....

First off, thanks to everyone for their support and prayers. I talked to her by phone yesterday for a bit, she's doing very well, the doctors have her up and moving around already. I hope she is out of the hospital by Memorial Day weekend, as I will be home for the extended weekend.

Memorial day weekend is also the weekend of Burlington's annual chocolate festival, put on by the Nestle plant in town. So traffic is going to be nuts!! Should be a good weekend, though.

Pack up as much of that warm air as you can and send it this way!!! On my way home from work last night, I had sleet falling on the windshield of the truck, and it got down to 33 this morning. That's too bloody cold for May 12!! It's not supposed to get above 50 untill Sunday.

I'll take the cod and fries for lunch and dinner, CW. Once again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
