I've got some more fish (cod, perch, and haddock) in the deep fryer for supper.
Made some more cole slaw, and have fries in another deep fryer.

Hi All

Just stopped in for a quick Club sandwich, and a Diet Coke.

Trying to get some housework done, but not going too well as usual. Does anyone else have that problem? Or is it just me? [B)]

I sure wish Duchess could help. [;)]

It is going to hit 95 here today they say. [:0] [:(] Good bye Spring, Hello Summer. [B)] [8] And Hello to the high electric bills too. [:(] [V] [:(!]

Well, got to go.

Well, here it is, almost lunch time, and I've got the fish frying, hushpuppies frying
in another pot, and the cole slaw is ready.

Even though Mookie took a chocolate cake with her to Chicago, I've got plenty
more left. One was taken out of the freezer last night to thaw, so it's ready
after you all eat your lunch. There is also a white cake w/white frosting for
those who prefer that.

I'll make sure to get the group to stand out at the end of the fence as a train goes by, crowd permitting. Also, my Digital Rebel will be there, and I'm pretty good at getting a sneak shot of people, especially with the long lens. Watch for a picture here sometime Sunday (Mookie still doesn't know exactly where I live, right?).[}:)]

Carl, I promise I won't post any unflattering shots.

Joe, you'll get no competition from here. I won't even be using the recliner, as I have too much running around to do- half a day of work, and then a 100-mile drive to move my daughter back home.

Later-

Mookie, you and Driver have a SAFE trip!!

Randy, glad to know your mom is better, and at home!!

Well, at 3:20 p.m., we're getting wind and thunder, along with a few "sprinkles".

Supper tonight is: Special Fried Rice (that's the one with beef, pork, chicken,
and seafood all together).

Randy, Mutt and I wish Philly had had THAT trouble last week when they were
in Cincy. Only trouble is, Pittsburg is in Cincy now, and THEY'RE really doing it
to the Reds also[:(!]

Afternoon everyone....

I'm happy to report that my mother is home from the hospital, she got to go home on Mother's day. She's doing fine, but won't be working anytime soon. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I might just have to take a trip on Saturday down to Rochelle just to meet everyone, if that's the case, I will be putting some serious mileage on the truck this weekend. I should really get down there again, haven't been down there in about a year.

Sarah, the Phillies seem to be having problems trying to beat the Brewers....
[:-^][:-^][swg][swg]

See everyone later.

I am off! But we knew that, didn't we.

For those of you that have visited Rochelle - I am going to follow in your footsteps.

For those of you that haven't - I'm really sorry but.....

Brian - I am laughing -

1: Driver took my "mug" shot, so as of this morning, yes he is still alive.

2: The word will get back to the forum far faster than a photo to let everyone know I "arrived".

3: you will need that long of a lens to photo me on my camp stool at the diamond. Then everyone on here will know just what my caboose looks like cuz I ain't facing away from the trains!

4: Post Brittany Spears picture or maybe make that Carol Burnett - better age. No one will know the difference but Brother Carl and I will threaten him!

Besides, don't you want proof posted that you were at Rochelle RR Park? With the pavilion and a train in the background for good measure?

A Late Morning All

After my last two crazy days I got some sleep last night. [^]

But the bad news is . . . it is my Monday. [:(]

Weatherwise it is going to hit 85 today and 91 tomorrow. Summer is trying to come in. I was really enjoying having Spring for a change.

Well schools are starting to get out, and just in time too. Zach and his daddy will be in Arkansas next week for the 844. We will meet and take a little tour of some railroad related items, with a railroad employeed host of course. [;)]

I got to see both the northbound and southbound Texas Eagle Tuesday/Wednesday night. Third shift for me started at 10 pm Tuesday and ended 6 am Wednesday.

Well I must go, got some things to do.

Sarah - as I told Mutt it is a good thing you didn't rattle a candy sack. You would have probably had deer all over you. Had that happen when I was kid on vacation in the mountains. My grandmother loved the old big pink peppermints and would eat them the whole time we were traveling. We stopped on a mountain road to see a doe standing beside the road. I was the closest to the doe and Grandma reached in and rattled the sack getting a mint. The deer about ran me down trying to get to that sack.

Maybe it was from the breed "Tourist Deer".

Packing all done. Have landlord talked into putting out fresh water for the birds. Have a new bird that has been visiting the water lately. The large orange and white one I think I told you about. About 9-10 pounds. Blackbirds were discussing something with it last nite. Something about directions to the nearest exit.

Brian - bring tripod - leave camera.

Joe - I saw you were making coffee, but couldn't wait -our custodian was a little earlier than you and while his coffee is barely drinkable - it is coffee.

CW - After a trip to Rochelle I have no clue when or where we will ever go next. But I will definitely put you on the list. Our last vacation was a fly fishing trip to Wyoming for the Driver, so will probably have to do something for him next time. Even tho I was not fly fishing, it is hard to beat the Wyoming weather in August, sitting on a big porch in the shade, in an oversized rocking chair - watching the hummingbirds. Just sittin' and grinnin'.

Will check in before I leave the building later today.

(now about that chocolate cake that I am taking with me......)

Good Thursday morning everyone. Joe, thanks for putting the coffee on, and
making the juice.

Cannonball, apology accepted.

Narig01, [#welcome] to the Depot Diner! We're always glad to see new people
come in and join us here.

Regular breakfast menu is ready this morning.

Mookie, after your trip to Chicago, think you'll come down this way sometime?
