Sun today here - but threat of some thunderstorms. At least we aren't dry, so lightning won't be an issue.

I'm sure we'll be seeing the results of those wildfires in our sunsets - you'd be amazed how far that smoke actually carries. We got actual smoke, at ground level, from fires in northern Quebec a few years ago. It was bad enough that people were reporting fires based on the smell of smoke and the glow of lights at night.

The diner isn't all that big - and the cooler (chocolate cake) and the hammock aren't all that far apart!

Time to get to work, and contemplate mowing the lawn when I get home. Just mowed the back yard Saturday, but I think the rain finally caused that fertilizer to kick in...

Boy! It is a good thing I arrived when I did! This forum needs some straightening out.

1: It is flooding in Houston, which will help Colorado. The earth is round and just as soon as it spins around a couple of times, the water will run up to Colorado and put out the fires.

2: AZ is east of I-5 and nothing happens east of I-5......so those can't be wildfires almost in that canyon. In fact, there is probably no canyon - but we will never know.

3: This virtual diner is so big you will need a roadmap to find anything. Youse guys had better think about having a diner with an attached garage, attached movie house/electonics center/playground, an attached boat house for the virtual lake - well, you get the idea. So back to the drawing board. Meanwhile leave the diner small so CW and I don't get lost!

4: We are in the middle of global warming in the summers, global cooling in the winters.

5: This is exhausting - so will grab a big cup of coffee and go look for a familiar ankle with scars all over it. Going to be an exciting day - I feel it in my fur!

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Cannonball, I'm still praying for you all to get some
of this rain we've been getting!! But my prayers aren't being answered.[:(] As a matter
of fact, we're getting thunder (not sure about lightning) as a type (speak).

Coffee is ready, and fresh juice is in the cooler.

Breakfast this morning is on the warmer bar: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs,
hash browns, biscuits, sausage gravy; and in the cooler, cantaloupe slices and
watermelon chunks.

I'll be back when I get through with Produce; if I'm not back, could someone please
take care of lunch for me?

Here in No. Ariz . ( choke choke ) The area is turning into one big incinerater .
At least 5 fires in our forests , with no rain in sight Just wind and more wind .
5 air tankers and 3 droop snoot choppers and 2 choppers with bambi buckets .
This is just for Sedona . Several Hotshot crews are on line as well. Gonna be a looong hot summer . CW ; a real time apology bout the stove . A virtuial check is headed to the building fund . There is a 4-6-2- engine from the round house to supply steam for the grate shaker . It will be dispatched white flag when needed. Pray for us some rain please . Cannonball.

MC - You're right - Not enough hose here. I'm sure if you called her, my sister (lives in Aurora) would be glad to work the bucket brigade. Their favorite camping spot escaped incineration in the big fire a year or two ago, but everything around it burned.

CW how did it feel to get some much needed rain down by you. I'm sure it felt pretty good huh. Well, guess who got a storm, just about supper time. That's right: Mutt and I. In about
45 minutes, we a good 1 1/2 in. Lot of heavy rain, and wind. No hail around us, that we
know about. Reports of trees, branches and wires down all around us; but fortunately,
we didn't have that. Just a couple of branches down from your trees. Our large 90 gal.
garbage bin was blown half way across the front yard, along with the recycling bins.

Chris and MC, the wind gusts got up to about 60 mph. But we wouldn't DARE send you all
the wind: that would have made the fires out your way much worse!! And we don't want
to do that to you all.

MC, did you really expect that the Denver media to know about anything east of E470? That's really more like an extension of Western Kansas instead of Eastern Colorado! [:0][(-D]

Good evening, everyone. Been a hot one this afternoon. Right now, we are under a
severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. EDT. Wish we could turn the rain around,
and send it back towards Arizona and Colorado!!

Supper tonight: (Sorry MC): chicken drumsticks w/mashed taters & gravy, corn
and peas.

Dessert: still have cake left from yesterday.

Um ...Chris:

Local media reports on a "measley " 30 Acre in JeffCo and a 15,000 Acre fire near Holly goes un-noticed. (Yes that's five digits to the left of the decimal point)....Maybe Ed can ship the water up here in empty gons or hoppers[:D] I don't think Larry has enough hose to reach over this far.

Afternoon everyone......

Had nasty weather up here yesterday, lots of tornado warnings, one was sighted near Stoughton (not again!!!), another one near Hartford took the roof off of an elementary school, and lots of rain again yesterday (not good for my dad, he replanted a field that flooded out, only to have the same thing happen again!!).

Had a good weekend in the free poker tournaments here in Madison, I placed 15th, 5th, and 12th in the three I played in, got enough points to get me entered in the final tournament on Thursday, too bad I have to work. Oh well, the last five games I've played in I have finished in the points, which is really good for me.

As soon as someone can get me the virtual plans, I'll see about getting the permits (which should be a lot easier in the virtual world) and line up the contractors to make the improvements.

See everyone later.

Hello again, all. Just got back from the library. Took one book back, and got Mutt and
myself four or five books each. Should take care of us for awhile.

Lunch today: macaroni salad, tuna salad, turkey salad (notice a theme here?), chips
or fries, and for dessert: leftover Happy Father's Day cakes from yesterday.

Well, had a very nice Father's Day - visit from daughter and all, and the weather was beautiful, if hot and muggy.

As for today, NWS just issued a severe t'storm watch, and judging by the weather radar, I'd better bring in the laundry off the line. Don't mind the storms, though, and rain is usually a good thing. At least it held off until after the weekend!

Will probably head south for some more train time next weekend.... For now, I have to see if I can get the dog in for her shots - it's that time again!
