Man oh man, does coffee sound good!! We've only had Folger's instant crystals and I
really can't stand instant coffee. But you do what you have to do when you don't have any power for your coffeemaker.

At least we have a gas range, and I could heat water. Even though the range has electronic ignition, we manually lit the burner with a long lighter for lighting grills, fireplaces, etc.

Thank goodness we're back in CIVILIZATION again.

We had Shotgun's Dans pizza tonight at work. It was very good. Plus I bought a Cookies N' Cream cake for dessert. It was ok. WE ate most of the pizza and about 1/4 of the cake. I left the cake at the guard shack so they could finish it off. It has way to much chocolate in it for me. [:(]

Well I have had an exciting weekend again. I got to go to a Milwaukee Brewers Baseball game yesterday, unfortunately they lost. Also, you can mark me in the 500 club as soon as I post on the other coffee shop in the Model Railroader forums. I got to get going though, so I'll talk to you later,

Well, Vanilla Jim, Chocolate Mookie is back, just in time. Looks like you had the diner pretty much to yourself all weekend.

We are counting noses here from the bad weather over the weekend. Want to see the people from Nebraska east. Know we have some people in Kansas so want to hear from y'all. Let us know you are safe.

Did some train watching this weekend. They mostly ran while the Mook was asleep, which seemed to be most of the 3 days off! Plus napped a little trackside! Warm sun, nice breeze, quieter than next door neighb...........[zzz]

Mookie, we're safe here in Lou., KY. Had a rough time since Thursday when electricity went out; came back on Sat. evening, then went back out Sun. night at 11:15. Came back on last night about 10:15.

Lost BIIIGGG limbs out of oak tree in back yard; limbs took out 2 sections of privacy fence; Sunday night's storms took down two more limbs, one of which landed on garage roof; put a couple of holes in yard;

After tree crew showed up Sunday and cleaned up, yesterday afternoon, the top of the oak tree (main trunk of tree) came down. Now have that to clean up. HOPEFULLY the storms are over here, and everybody can begin again. At least everyone in our neighborhood and our family members and friends are all safe. Thank you Lord Jesus for those blessings.

And thank all of you on the forum for your support.Hopefully one day we can meet all (or most) of our forum family.

Still standing here in WV although there's lots of flooding and states of emergency in our county and several surrounding ones. Severe storms were like trains - wait a minute and there would be another one. NOAA radio had us under severe thunderstorm warnings (yes, plural), tornado watch and flash flood warnings all at the same time. The canine contingent finally came out from under the living room table yesterday p.m.; I guess he decideded it was O.K.... Please pass the coffee.

work safe

HI CM [8D] (You just gave yourself a new nicname [:p] [;)] )

Business was real slow. How am I going to make virtual $$$ with business so slow? So I was forced to rethink the business plan. Put a new one into action. So far it is off to a good start. [:D]

Business was slow but my good buddy Noah stopped by and kept me company to break the long hours of being in the diner all by myself. Restaurant management can be lonely at time. [:(] Cherokee women also stopped by for some real coffee. [:p]

I am glad to hear everyone is ok so far. We have a forum member from the modeling side who had a newhew who is missing and believed to have drowned. That was a bit of bad news. Should you want to learn more about that just stop by the last 2 pages of the Coffee Shop in the Model Railroad forums.

I do hope that everyone has a good work. Noah went back to school today but this Thursday is his last school day this school year. [:0] [:p] [8D] Noah will have time to keep up with his basement layout water problem. I hear the ARK is doing well though. [:D] [:D] [:D]

I think the last two days of May were as wet as the preceding 29 here, and those were already wetter than the preceding four months. We should be about caught up by now.

More rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, so I won't get to bike to work today.

We were without power for four hours Sunday night (our own cables are underground, but something must have caught an above-ground part of the grid).

I understand that the Indiana Harbor Belt was out of business for a while Sunday, due to downed power lines and a loss of the signal system. We couldn't give them any trains, which caused a backup in our yard. Things were more normal yesterday.

Cheer up people - nice weather will be on its way. It is sunny and beautiful here today!
So will send it all east for you to enjoy.

Did Modelcar make it back yet? He's Indiana, so wondering if all ok. Did you notice Texas has been really quiet? They usually get hit with all this nasty weather.

Mudrooster had snow in the higher elevations and Dan must have dropped off into the ocean - so what else is news?

A bit cool today, but I'll still have a cheeseburger "with", some fries (save some for Matt), and a chocolate shake out on the patio (this diner does have a patio overlooking the tracks, doesn't it?!?).

Looks the the rain they forecast will stay south (poor Syracuse - they've been getting some of it, too.)

ooo - that sounds so good! I will have to join you.

Patio - according to our landlord is a strip of concrete - uneven at that - about 2 feet wide and about 10 feet long. But that is good compared to what is a "wooded lot". (That's volunteer trees about 3 deep!) And for this he charges rent?

For those of you to catch up. The Appelton, Reedsburg, and Kenosa, or ARK (Noah and the ark) is a new fake line I made connecting to the WSOR on my layout. It was out of buisiness because the water ports (the flooding) stopped and it had nothing to do but its back in buisiness now.

Got a call from my daughter in Syracuse a little while ago. Her street resembled a river - plus small hail, lots of thunder. Lots of little cells popping up all over the place. This system will leave, eventually....

We get some really nasty storms "downunder", but rarely the type where we have to
deal with tornadoes - at least not on the scale you "up over" folk have to deal with. Is there something unique about the geography of the U.S. that causes so many?

I was reading this and listening to the radio and they started playing Sleigh Ride. Have no idea why, but you must have great pull up here! It is only in the 50's here right now. Lovely!

(Ed said it was in the 90's down there...so glad it is there!)

We probably really ticked someone off!

Actually, we have a very active jet stream - and I think I read that this is what causes our "funny" weather.

Hey Dave - what do the Aussie's eat for breakfast - anything really unusual? We need some new menu items!

I'll bet that when Kozzie sends the Vegemite it stays up on the highest shelf.

I'll have to pass today; going in for blood tests (nothing serious, I hope!).

I was able to bike yesterday, thanks to a clear radar screen. Did 24 miles, then came home and cut the grass.
