Apparently, we had a power surge sometime through the night/early morning.  I had to set a couple of clocks when I awoke at 5:45.

Forgive me for being an electronics engineer with a penchant for technical correctness, but apparently you had a power DROPOUT last night.  If you had had a power surge, you'd be smelling smoke coming out of several of your appliances right now...Big Smile

//just respond with the raspberry smiley, and we'll move on...

Brian, thanks for correcting me!  Smile

Sorry about not being around much today.  Just had several errands to run, as Joe says, "Paid Bill(s)", and just now getting in here.  Doesn't look like I was missed, though.

If anyone is interested, there's soup on the warmer bar (cream of tomato, vegetable beef), and some sandwiches (sloppy joes, grilled cheese, and cold cuts so you all can make your own sandwiches, if you want to.

Everyone have a good evening, and take care.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  At 6:00 a.m., we have light rain and a temp in the mid to upper 50s this morning.  May have a heavy shower later this morning, then the rain will be out of here.  Weather radio went off quite a bit yesterday, starting around 4 p.m. and ending about 6:30.  All we saw of rain, was a few drizzles.  Our high today is to be in the upper 60s, maybe 70.

Coffee, juices, other assorted cold beverages and hot water for tea are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal, toast and french toast.

Our neighbor across the street, turned 93 years young yesterday.  Too bad she has Alzheimers, and didn't really realize that we were over there.  We took her a birthday card, and Walt cut a rose from his Soldiers' Prayer  bush and took over to her.  Although, she did respond to Walt, telling her they needed to go out, to either dance the jitter bug, or go roller skating (two things she always teased him about, that they were going to do).  She have him a smile.  It's been quite awhile since I've seen her smile!

Mookie, I've got your coffee mug ready for you; but, I imagine you're still spending time with granddaughter and great grandson, having a blast with them!

Everyone have a good morning, and take care.  Going to be another busy day:  have to go get my driver's license renewed, and do some more household shopping.

Nap sounds good, but I've got work to do.

Right after I finish my bearclaw.

Found a message on my answering machine last night.  Sounded like my son in the background, and my granddaughter could be heard, too.

I figured she got one of their phones and managed to pull up my number (not hard if that was the last number called).  Turns out she was playing with her mom's phone (with supervision), chattering away.   Her dad decided to dial up my house, but once Evie heard my voice on the phone (the recording) she clammed right up.  I checked the caller ID and found who had called, so I called back and found out what happened.   Kids...

A cool morning for June....52 degrees.  Sunshine and dry today and probably headed for 70 degrees this afternoon.  Better in warmth tomorrow.  But we'll take this one too.  Over an inch and a half of rain total this week since Monday.  Rain gauge check.

Upstairs (of course, since that is where the puter resides) and have south window open.  Have a robin screaming in the window at me - oh, I am sorry - he is "singing" at me.  Boy are they loud!  Had north front door open, but with a bite in the north wind, had to close it.  Drank my coffee wrapped in a blanket!

Looking forward to the weekend.  Going to Omaha on Sunday to Willy's grad party.  Wonder if he wants me to get him a "weather rock"?

Joe - best go for plates.  They change constantly.  The engines will stay put.

Off to do mischief.

Quentin, Ill be happy to trade with you. Yesterday we hit 32C (90F), way too hot for me, and it feels like the same today.

Have they made any progress on tires for the Brickyard 400 yet? What a joke that was last year!

Dale....I know they have been doing some testing, but haven't seen any writeups or heard any results yet.  You're right...It better be better than the last go around....That was terrible.  If  I hear anything I'll let you know.

We had some really beneficial rains here the last few days...now the heat is cranking up.  97 tomorrow, 98 on Saturday and 97 on Sunday.

Gotta love spring in South Central Texas.

Mookie - Perhaps you can bring a "weather rock" and Tree can mail a "weather chain" and we'll see which one is better! Either way, I'm honored that you and The Driver can come. We're busily preparing for the party.

My mom and I rode Amtrak to Glenwood Springs, Colorado and back last weekend. Our train was on time going each way. In fact, we arrived in Denver nearly an hour early on the way back to Omaha. I'm not too big on taking pictures, but I did take this picture of our train arriving in Glenwood Springs:

I was pleasantly surprised by the food on the train. It was all quite tasty.

Well, that's all for now. Maybe some storms for the weekend, but hopefully nothing that will disrupt the party.

Willy,

I wish we could drop in on your graduation party, but we're saving all our gas money for a little jaunt we have planned for later in August.  One of the destinations that I already have reservations for is the Izaak Walton Inn in Essex, Montana (two nights!).Big Smile

Ah yes, that's where I really wanted to go this summer, but my mom hasn't recovered quite enough from her hip replacement yet. I imagine you're looking forward to that!

You imagine correctly.  We're also planning on spending a night in Vancouver, BC (paying attention, Dale?).  Haven't figured out which hotel yet, though.

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Sorry about not being around much yesterday.  The three of us were busy, putting in new lighting in the kitchen.  We now have plenty of light in our kitchen.  We were down to one light in the ceiling, and it was quite dim in there.  Walt and Sarah did most of the work, but I helped them with things this short stuff could do. like picking up things for them, and holding tools for them, holding the ladder, etc.

Coffee, juice, hot water for tea, hot chocolate are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  fresh from the oven blueberry muffins, bagels, bear claws and doughnuts.

I don't know if I'll be around at lunch time.  Have to go get my driver's license renewed today.  Was too busy around here to go get it done yesterday.

Current temp is 56 this morning, going for a high of 79; might reach 80.

Willy, congratulations on your graduation Sunday!  I know you'll enjoy your graduation party!!

Good morning. I'll take one of those chicken subs. Can't handle tuna this time of the day. Thanks Mook. 73 degrees and overcast in Carolina. We had a night of heavy weather and a lot of rain. More of the same scheduled for today,

Willy, all the best, and I hope your mom continues to improve. Enjoy your graduation party, and beware of the kittie.

Everybody take care

Another cool morning here in central Indiana for June....50 degrees @ 7:30...!  That's not too normal.  Wonder when  it will turn very hot, like maybe overnight....It does that sometimes.

But beautiful sunshine again and dry.

Willy, CONGRATS on the Graduation!!!! Bow

As far as work around here yesterday, I think Sarah did most

of the "Labor"; I pretty much played the role of Supervisor

until the final electrical wiring, then it was time to get busy.

Mook, you might want to "Toss" some more whatever

into the "Kitty Litter Fund"; although that menu doesn't

sound that bad. Smile,Wink, & Grin

We went shopping today for all sorts of stuff for the party. Dishes, napkins, tablecloths, food, food, and more food. Did I mention food? Dinner We're also having the Garden Cafe cater some sandwiches, fruit dishes, and vegetable dishes. Such fun!

Off and on severe weather is expected through Sunday Night, but hopefully the party will be in a dry slot. Our rainfall for this year is already 5.88" below average, so we need rain, just not when I'm partying. Those of you who know me are well aware of what an extreme party animal I am. Big Smile
