Mookie which one was/is the diner? Hmmm?
which one was/is the diner? Hmmm?
This diner hadn't been created when I did that, or it certainly would have been included..... I did have some fun along those lines...

HAd a good day atschool today. Were' making personal slide shows in computers & buisness class. I went to sShutterfly . com and coppied pics. from there. I think it is pretty cool.
Didn't rain today, so I wore shorts currently huvering around the 52* mark here in western Indiana.
CW, Can't wait for dinner!

(1) Noticed the TrainsTube and the introduction of the staff. Figures that Bergie or the actor playing him on TV again fails to appear. The conspiracy continues.
(2) Mooks, the weatherliars are going into chickenlittle hysterics again. Watch out on Friday, Millie may need cat-tracks..
Well the sun has come out this afternoon.Going to dry out the next few days thankfully.Cw thanks for supper tonight.time to get things around for work.
stay safe

Sir C - Millie may need her rain bonnet, but will be warm enough next 10 days to not be a problem. Next week - whole week looks very spring-like.

Mrs. Mook,
Have you seen the BNSF pics I posted on here a few days ago?
I have really been a busy little beaver this afternoon: Three loads of clothes washed, one load dried and put away, another load in the dryer, and getting ready to put the last load into the washer, along with doing two loads of dishes, feeding the doggie, etc., along with refreshing everything to go on the warmer bar for tonight. Which is now complete, and back on the warmer bar.
Now, to put the clean sheets, etc., back on the beds, and bring down the comforter to put into the washer. It's queen size, so that gets washed by itself.
Larry, just in case you need them before you go teach your class, I've left the bottle of Beano under the counter for you, and anyone else who may need them!
Everyone enjoy your dinner/supper, and have a good evening. Don't know if I'll make it back in here this evening or not.
CW... Beano before and there will be no gas!!!! I wondered what that smell was in here was.... No offence to anone of course. Supper was good!!!
Mail delivery--it is obvious that some of you do not order anything by mail, else you would be covered up in catalogs. Our mailman might complain bitterly if he were allowed to deliver our mail only twice a week.
When I was in college, I left a piece of junk mail in my box so that there would be something it when I looked through the glass every morning. I had a different box each year (students' boxes were arranged alphabetically), but the faculty and administration kept their boxes the same. One day, when I was helping the treaurer's assistant sort mail, I asked her about the possibility of sorting those boxes alphabetically, and she asked me, "Did you ever try to move a faculty member out of his box?"
Johnny
Walt thank you. I think the filter needs beat upon. Still no LVL or others /hot,cool or lukewarm email . Maybe its all the fierce rolling wind ,been blowing for 2wks. w/ ocasional rain~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```

Good Thursday morning, everyone. Current temp here in Louisville is 46, looks like we'll be holding there for awhile. High today is to be in the low to mid 60s. Shouldn't be too bad a day around here.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready. Mookie, your coffee mug is on the counter for you.
On the breakfast bar this morning: bagels, bear claws, BLTs, oatmeal, grits, toast and several boxes of cereal are out on the counter.
A few of our downtown streets will be closing for the weekend: this is our "Thunder Over Louisville" fireworks show weekend, the beginning of the KY. Derby events. The Clark Memorial Bridge (known around here as the 2nd St. Bridge) will be closed to vehicular travel sometime later this morning, so they can start to set up the fireworks, howitzers, etc., that they put on the bridge.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, and all of you have a good morning, and take care.
Good morning, and thanks CW for breakfast. 49 and partly cloudy in Carolina this lovely morning. The weatherguess is 68 and clear later. Paula, when it's thunder over Carolina, it's the real thing, unfortunately. Enjoy your pre-derby festivities. Here, I shall duck and lay low! Take care
Tom

A contentious woman is like a constant dripping! (Solomon)
CW - is it Derby time again already? For me, that is so much better than basketball! And to help the economy there in Loo-ville - I mailed my "local" telephone bill!
Justin - saw the pictures. Very nice. I always enjoy pictures of trains in just about any setting. They improve the surroundings!
Johnny - still get some catalogues since I do some mail ordering. But like credit card offers, they have become less all the time. Now if insurance companies would quit sending mail, it would be perfect!
Cloudy - shows rain on radar, but have yet to see any.
Seems early for the Derby to be here, it must be because we've had a cool spring around here. But the Stanley Cup playoffs are on TV, and the blossems are on the cherry trees.
A pair of Bald Eagles in Sidney share their nest with a camera, and now three chicks as well (although I have not seen them). Apparently Bald Eagles are always supposed to have two chicks. The more, the merrier?

Yes, Insurance Co's are the largest pest now....For those of us able to be home any time of the day and turn on the TV....It seems the hawkers of Ins. are getting louder and louder....and the same goes for paper coming thru the US mail. Rather disgusting.
One thing not disgusting this morning is the weather....finally...! Bright sunshine....clear skies, and I'm just waiting for the dew to dry on the grass to get to mowing....It just about got ahead of me this time. But first, taking our car to the dealer for service this morning.
As I've been thinking....This looks like a season performance when we go right from cold / cool weather to straight into summer heat and humidity.
Even the blossoms this seasons are not performing their normal beauty, and seems the leaves behind them are pushing them on before they show their normal beauty. That's the way it works sometimes.
Temps now in high 40's and warming today to a very nice comfort level according to what they are saying.
Quentin
Good afternoon, you all. Since everyone else was still asleep this morning, I went back to bed for a little bit. But, I've been up for awhile, and have the rest of today's menu ready to post, and the first round is now on the warmer bar:

2. Sweet & Sour Shrimp
3. Chicken w/Broccoli
4. Moo Goo Gai Pan Combo
5. Seafood Combo
6. Pepper Steak
7. Roast Pork Egg Foo Young
8. And your choice of these fried rices: Pork, Shrimp, Beef, Chicken and Special
Everyone enjoy, and I'll see you all later on.
Shrimp sounds good CW,and hi everybody!

I've got an odd question, perhaps one of you might know the answer. (Quentin?)
On the old TV series Green Acres, there was a Mr Haney (played by Pat Buttram), who would drop by in a delivery truck. Anyone happen to know what kind of truck it was? It looks smaller than the truck on the Beverly Hillbillies judging by the picture at this website-http://www.maggiore.net/greenacres/ga50.asp
We got talking about it while watching a hockey game, and none of us could remember.
CW, thanks for the chicken!
Good Friday morning, everyone.
Dale, I can answer part of your question about Mr. Haney's truck. It was a Ford, I think it was a Model T. And I'm not sure what year it was. And, if I remember correctly, Ford sponsored Green Acres. And you're welcome, regarding supper last night.
Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.
On the counter this morning, you'll find all different kinds of doughnuts and danishes, along with bagels, bear claws and some blueberry muffins.
You all have a good morning, and take care.
good morning
well its friday thank goodness.Cw thanks for the muffins.Going to take a quick nap then its time to do chores and errands.
PS for Pious Lion: Your cuzins - Dandy Lions are all over the place. Finally spring is sprung!
BB Muffin - mmpphhfffff......wunnerful!
Well, I was going to go for a blueberry muffin, but I heard threatening sounds when I reached for one, so I'll stick with a bearclaw.
Day off from work. Lots to do.
Hello Americans, it's Friday. At present, 49 degrees and clear in Carolina this lovely day. The boffins guess it will make it up to 74 today, but thankfully, no lightning is in sight! About 0600 this morning, there was the durndest bunch of barking and howling from somewhere. It was loud enough to wake the wife up, but not strong enough to even get a fix on. Sounded like at least 12-15 dogs, mebbe more. There is some yaehoo near here with a lot of dogs, and even goats and horses that fire up from time to time, but it wasn't from there. Believe it or not, my girls slept through it! Everybody take care

.....Have a memory of the ancient truck but at the moment, don't have an answer.....If I happen upon the answer, I'll post it...
A beautiful Friday morning here in central Indiana....Bright sunshine and getting warmer by the hour.....Should hit at least 70 today.
Heavy frost and 30 degrees in AZ mountains this AM, but warming trend on the way.
Tomorrow early I will drive to Winslow for a mini-meet of the Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society which will be held in the La Posada. This historic Santa Fe - Fred Harvey hotel has been wonderfully restored and is situated adjacent to the BNSF Transcon. Winslow is a crew change location so all trains pass by more slowly than as usually seen on adjacent I-40. There is a wonderful restaurant, The Turquoise Room, in the La Posada and its windows look out across the landscaped hotel front to the tracks. So if I am absent from your wonderful table tomorrow CW I am sure you will understand.

Your "Dandies" are all gonna drown or freeze ta death before Lurch & I blow through town Mooks. Ma Nature is a confused little girl here in Denver today and the weatherliars are all panic-ing here. Some parts of town get snow, some get slush and others get rain. Colorado Springs, 60 miles to the south has bright sunny skies. Railroad Museum in Golden already looking at 9 inches since midnight. I assume copcar has adopted a seige mentallity over in his concrete command bunker, his folks won't be working today.
....Being promised 15-30 inches of snow between now and Saturday at the house, 10-20" at the office. 3 inches of rain out on the prairie. The slush is plugging most of the local drains and you have to row across some lanes on the interstate/freeway today.....going to the larder to find the last of the hot cider.
Wow Sir C! They aren't predicting any more than a little spit of rain for us tonite and tomorrow. Our Spring Red & White Game is tomorrow and they have promised that the athletic dept will have sun for the game. Rain before and after. Sunday might be a little spitty, but no freezing.
Radar shows our rain from Texas (thanx Houston Ed) will push your snow back away from us. And since you have the ski resorts and we don't - you keep it!
As noted before - keep me posted.
Unless Mother Nature pulls a really good one on us, the only thing we're expecting over the weekend, is rain/storms coming in tomorrow night, about an hour after Thunder Over Louisville Fireworks is over, continuing off and one thru Tuesday. Mudchicken, I feel sorry for you all out there in Colorado, getting bombarded with rain, snow and yucky slush.
Time for our Friday Fish Fry:
FISH MENU: Bass, Cod, Flounder, Grouper, Haddock, Halibut, Perch, Salmon patties, Shrimp (jumbo butterfly and popcorn) and rolled breaded oysters
SIDE DISHES: Cole slaw, corn on the cob, baked beans, fries, hush puppies, cornbread, macaroni & cheese, stewed tomatoes over biscuits w/butter and brown sugar, mixed greens and fried breaded mushrooms
DESSERTS: Chocolate cake w/white icing, Yellow cake w/chocolate icing, Yellow cake w/caramel icing; Pies: Apple, Cherry, Peach and Pecan; Cobblers: Blueberry and Strawberry
At 12:46, we have very sunny skies with a temp in the middle sixties. You all enjoy your meal and your afternoon.
Just this afternoon I learned of all the snow headed for parts of Colorado that M C has mentioned.
What a contrast....Finally, we have two beautiful nice days of sunshine and warmth, and that has been just enough to push out the blossoms to full bloom....Just since yesterday. Beautiful out and about now with the aroma of new mowed grass and the blossoms....Just great.
